Jackie, besides painting I am also a silversmith. On your bottles that are clogged you can get what is called a pin vice which will hold a tiny tiny drill bit and you can open all your clogged bottle spouts with it. Since it's not electric, it's really safe. .... Hope it helps. Love the pieces and as always thank you for sharing all your amazing knowledge.
I have enjoyed all the videos in this series! I actually enjoy all your videos, but it's nice to witness your process! The 6 foot oyster you're working on is this for you or are you making it for someone else?
Thank you very much, Christine. For right now, the 6' piece is for me, but we'll see what happens once it's done. I'm really just following my curiosity at this point. 🥰
Thank you for all that you do and all that you share with us. What you've shown us today is absolutely gorgeous! Congratulations on creating an outcome you love❤❤❤❤❤
I just love watching and listening to you work. It’s so frustrating that I cannot paint at the moment with my elevated leg but watching you keeps my interest. ❤
This has been such an inspiring series with so many learning opportunities that I'll be re-watching the videos time & again. Thank you Jackie & I look forward to watching the big version spring into life ❤
I love them both, don’t know how I’d decide if I had to. I’ve enjoyed the series… the explorations in the workbook, really terrific. I’d LOVE to see a final flip thru w an overview narration.
I just found you and have been binge watching you all night... I love love love your creativity and the fact you teach how to play to get to where you want..instead of hard fast rules which stunt creativity. Will be watching you regularly
I’m REEEAALLY liking the vibe of this oyster! The colors are truly lovely and wildly vibrant while still being reminiscent of the colors you find in a real oyster when they are all presented together
Your videos always seem to contain sprinkles of magic for my arty soul and this was no exception! I am so excited to know that you are going to share a time lapse of the giant 6’ piece 🎉
22:28 Hi Jackie, this has been an amazing series of videos. I love where your process has landed so far. And love your enthusiasm for teaching as you go. Very inspiring!
That change to the background had a magically positive impact! I just love all the color in the oyster. Just love those crayons. Maybe one of my top 3 favorite art supplies.
Can't wait to see you do the big one ! This has been so much fun, I appreciate the commentary audio giving us even more detail. You really do a great job at this girl ! I had no idea alcohol acts as an eraser on acrylics! There you go again, teaching us new tricks ! Love this channel ! That end shot of the two oysters INSTANTLY reminded me of my sister and I. She's a traditional, classic kind of gal... I live in color !
I love this so much! You're inspiring me to finally create a collage with my prints.. And I love your excitement. I will also get up from my desk and go into the other room just to look at something I have worked on because I love it so much. It's a great feeling!
Wow! Amazing what the little touches you added today can do! I am very excited for the 6' one! It's a humongous project and I can't wait to see how you go on with it. I understand the process will be similar, but the size makes it rather intimidating!
Yes, Joyce, I'm happy I did too - having said that, I'm sure the giant collage will present a fair number of challenges. I'm up for it, but the enormity of this is landing on me 😂🥰
Hi Jackie, I do like seafood, but I never tasted an oyster. I love looking at both variations, but if it came to taste ... I would prefer the colorful one, because it´s just the colors that attract me and make me suppose wonderful nourishing elements in it 😋. I really admire your work and am looking forward to see you create their giant colleague. And for the benefit of your health I hope you will think of wearing a mask when working on the giant with alkohol /hicks 😉. Lots of love from Britta 😘
Britta, you are so very sweet. I probably will not use the alcohol on the giant piece - it's just too big. I'll probably sand it down - and I'll definitely wear a mask for that. Stay warm my friend! 🥰
I'm really liking your oyster. I was just thinking a bit of shadow, and you started adding some shadow. Maybe I could make a collage. I bought 20 small old wooden doors from an historic home demolish. They have layers of flaked white and cream paint. Twenty years later i want to start a project. I used to be a commercial computer advertising artist and typesetter. Oh! Joy, this looks like fun!
It could be 2 3 footers since it would be a diptych. That way you could put the 2 canvases right next to each other as you work and sort of carry the background accross.
Jackie, I loved watching you add the touches of color and the finishing details! I am tempted to buy the Neo color II crayons but I feel like I surely have something similar already in my stash. Can you tell me if there are other items that are similar? Perhaps Woody-3in1's? Any other suggestions before I invest in the Neo color II's? Thank you so much!
Hi Julie! Yes, the Woodies are similar (somewhat) to the neos and truthfully I could have used either to get the effect that I was looking for. However, I don't have any really bright woodies, so I grabbed the neos. I think you cannot go wrong with either. 🥰
@@PaintedPaperStudioThank you Jackie! I have about 15 woodies in a nice variety of colors but everytime I see someone who uses the Neocolor ll I wonder if I should have those too. Now I know the woodies are comparable…and I love using them!
It's a great question, Susn. Several years ago I painted an oyster in my sketchbook. Then I started drawing and doodling oysters everywhere - they're so texteured and dynamic, I kind of fell in love with them as a subject. 🥰

Thanks for the tip!
@@phoebebaker1575 You're very welcome. I hate spilling paint..lol I get it all over myself..lol
That is a great tip, thank you, Paula! 🥰

Me too, Paul...me too. 😂🥰
Excited to see this mamajama oyster come to life! The sketchbook ones are delish!
I am too - I just have to figure out where I'm going to do it - space is a bit of an issue 😂🥰
Those are both gorgeous, Jackie! I can't wait to see the big one!
Thank you, Heather - I can't wait to start the ig one - I'm still trying to figure out where I can create it AND film it 😂🥰

Thank you for sharing this journey with us! I cannot wait to see what is next!❤
Thank you, Susan! 🥰
I just love watching and listening to you work. It’s so frustrating that I cannot paint at the moment with my elevated leg but watching you keeps my interest. ❤
Oh dear, Linda - it would be hard to create with your leg up! I hope you healing quickly so you can get back in your studio. 🥰
Wow, seeing both oysters side by side really shows the difference between painting an collage. 😮
It really does, RevC! 🥰
This has been such an inspiring series with so many learning opportunities that I'll be re-watching the videos time & again. Thank you Jackie & I look forward to watching the big version spring into life ❤
Thank you very much, Faith - I'm looking forward to it as well!

I loved watching your videos of these two oysters! Thank you for sharing your process.
It's been a fun journey, Joan! 😍

I am so excited to see your process when you create the large piece! I have learned so much from this series - thank you for sharing!
Thank you, Jeni - I'm so glad you enjoyed the series!🥰
This piece & your process is a joy to watch. Thank you.
You're welcome! I had a lot of fun making it, Kathi. 🥰

I am so happy you enjoyed this series - it's been a long one, but I got SO much out of it. Thank you for your kind words 🥰
I love it! And I love the tip about knocking back the background by rubbing a bit of isopropyl alcohol to take off some of the acrylic paint.
That tip has been so helpful for me over the years, Phoebe! 🥰
I love this so much! You're inspiring me to finally create a collage with my prints.. And I love your excitement. I will also get up from my desk and go into the other room just to look at something I have worked on because I love it so much. It's a great feeling!
It really is the best feeling, isn't it Karen? I'm so happy you enjoyed it. 🥰
Thanks, Jackie! This is an awesome work!! Thanks for sharing!!

I agree, Chloé - it is intimidating, and I am not going to let the fear stop me 😍
This series is great! Love both oysters
Thank you very much, Lynn! 🥰

Thank you very much, Do - I'm happy the tips are helpful. 🥰
I appreciate the voiceover so we can concentrate on the process.
It makes it easier for me to concentrate as well. 🥰
thank you for explaining your choice of the Caran d'Ache, that was very useful.
You're welcome, Sara! 🥰
I LOVE THIS VID!! You give me possibilities as to where to go when I want to make the final piecee come to life! Thank you.
You're welcome, Sally - I'm so happy it gave you something! 🥰
I love both pieces.
Thank you, Linda! 🥰
love watching the process and all your insights
Thank you, Yesmean! 🥰
Seeing both versions next to each other I'm thinking you should do a diptych. I love both oysters!
Oh my gosh! Two 6-footers - that make my brain hurt 😂🥰
Both are tremendous but personally, I am very happy you have decided to go with the collage 6' piece! Can't wait (do I have to?) to see that.
Yes, Joyce, I'm happy I did too - having said that, I'm sure the giant collage will present a fair number of challenges. I'm up for it, but the enormity of this is landing on me 😂🥰

Oh my gosh that DOES sound like fun! Imagine all the possibilities you have 🥰
Thanks!
Valerie - I am sorry I am seeing this so late. Thank you very much for your generosity and support - I appreciate you. 🥰
It could be 2 3 footers since it would be a diptych. That way you could put the 2 canvases right next to each other as you work and sort of carry the background accross.
That's true - if I still have oysters in my system after the 6 footer I may give it a try.

Just curious...why an oyster?
Thanks for sharing ❤
It's a great question, Susn. Several years ago I painted an oyster in my sketchbook. Then I started drawing and doodling oysters everywhere - they're so texteured and dynamic, I kind of fell in love with them as a subject. 🥰
What will you do with a six foot oyster? Do you have a place for it already?
Not really, but if I love it I will find a place for it 😂 or, maybe sell it - although that is not really my plan. 🥰
Did the wax make the colors richer? Or is that my imagination working overtime??
Paula, it did probably make the colors richer - that's a bonus! 🥰
👍😍
Thank you, Rozani! 🥰
You’re most welcome. 🙂
Excited to see this mamajama oyster come to life! The sketchbook ones are delish!
Thank you - I'm excited, too!
