The magnet seem too strong for quick removal. A smaller size would have made the work perfect. Apart that, great work!
People are missing the point. It's not that you can buy it cheaper, it's that when needed right now, you can make it.

I understand that sometimes you have to make a tool, I have done that many times but you can buy a 4 1/2" magnet holder at harbor freight for $2.99
It really looks like that is what he used for the layout.....

I'd cut down those bolts and maybe find something to fill the gap between the plates. I hate having metal bits stuck in there while trying to powertig.
