I bought a manix 2 LW in 2023 and spyderco finally got rid of the pinned construction and its all screws now so you can disassemble it. Great comparison thanks 👍
Bought an all black g10 manix for 169 and 6 freebies from BHQ on thanksgiving My StNicks Manix LW arrived at post office today but can’t pick up til tuesday 😫
I just got the G10/S30v one for $151.20 to the door from knife center. It is an extremely robust knife (the handle and lock) I can say that and I like the knife a lot in spite of it's bulk. The knife opens as smooth or smoother than anything I own, shutting it takes quite a lot more effort than my BM's but that's fine by me. In my estimation, the handle and lock would rate about 9/10 or 10/10 for strength and the blade about a 4-5 with that thin tip. That seems kind of Imbalanced. It does slice really well, but I am thinking the FRN version suits this blade better. The handle and the blade seem to have equal "power" or strength in the FRN version. I'd like to see Spyderco offer another version of the g10/liner one with skeletonized liners with a more robust saber ground blade and super strong tip to match the handle's power. Call it the heavy duty model Manix 2 or something. As is, the benchmade 940-2 remains king of my EDC's with a blade that seems a tad more powerful than the handle and My Hogue RSK overall "best" knife I own especially for the money ($143 on sale to the door brand new). The RSK has a blade and handle that feel equally powerful. I know it's kind of a weird way to evaluate a knife. lol.
