The notation was first used by Euler as the first letter for "perimeter" in greek (περίμετρος), and wasn't defined as 3.14... but instead as a variable (similar to "x" in algebra) that was used whenever circles were involved.
So it could be equal to 3.14, or 6.28 (2π), or 1.57 (π/2), etc. depending on what was more convenient for the problem at hand.
And yeah, Archimedes calculated π's value way earlier but did not give it a name, algebra wasn't even a thing back then

In addition, the numbers used by the greeks aren't even the ones we use today. Today we use arabic numerals, whereas the greeks had their own system (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greek_numerals), so it being named after the shape of the characters makes no sense when the characters are different.
Optical Illusions are always fun! It's pretty amusing how the human mind tries to see some semblance of order in things, or at the very least tries to make sense of what we see. Pareidolia is the term for it I think? Anyway, thanks for the video Captain!

Squinting doesn't help but blurring your vision does. If you can manually blur your vision it makes it instantly noticeable.

A monolith is just a pillar that is meant to have some sort religious, social, or today an artistic significance. Think of it like an idol (not that kind) idols are material objects symbolic to a religion in some way that people worship in place of a god or whatever. Monoliths aren't worshipped but stand testament to concepts or stories.
Also I'd recommend the channel Burial Goods. He does meme readings as well but one at a time and he does different voices. Most are dramatic readings acting in character of memes like the monolith.
6:47 uhhh no? Pi is a letter from the greek alphabet. William Jones, a welsh matematician named the number pi, because the greek wold περιϕέρεια (peripheria) that means circumference starts with the letter π (pi) and pi is used for calculating the circumference of circles.
Pretty easy to know when you realize "Pi" has no relation to "Pies" if anything pie would be derived from pi

Most people wouldn't even recognize a rhomboid(or tell the difference between it and a rhombus) if you hit them in the face with one, not to mention a parallelepiped. They'd call it "a cube, but all wonky". It's just us geometry nerds who know what it is.

Yes it's definitely walking down. Those edges are apparently called nosing and they are always horisontal.
It looks pretty unpleasant to walk on those stairs if the tread depth was so thin and the nosing were pointing vertically.

In school, we weren't taught to write 4's with it closed at the top. It was always open, like an H missing its left leg. That's why I, and probably quite a few other people didn't know that 3.14 spelled Pie backwards.
I was, however, taught that it's called PI because it describes the ratio of the circumference to the diameter of a circle, and pies are round.
Then I learned that PI is just a greek letter, and my teachers participated in the spread of misinformation to children.

You made me think I forgot or skipped something! But after checking, it turns out "pi" basically originates from origins of the word "perimeter". It's actually just a coincidence that fits really well, and makes a lot of sense!
