I don't believe that chief's explanation for one second about his previous conclusion, that the officer acted in good faith when seeing his fellow officer, a Black man with a large amount of money. I believe the chief, after getting his promotion decided to speak the truth now, because he got his promotion. Speaking the truth sooner would have gotten in the way of his promotion.

I'm vintage and have never known it to be illegal to carry legal tender. now, if you have a wad of cash outside a drug house, that may be cause for suspicion (but cannot be the only fact, you could be just walking by) but for it to be suspicious at a cop training place? I'd say that training location ought to be looked at/investigated more closely if another cop thinks deals are going down! either that or the whole "any Black man with more cash than me has to have acquired it illegally or doing something nefarious" crap thinking
I remember this incident.
I will never forget the time a white cop stopped me because I supposedly "looked suspicious." I asked him, "How suspicious can a person look by just driving down a street?" He handed me my driver's licenses and said, "Have a good day."

Justice has not been served he still has his job, he still acting under the color of law as an employed officer, sometimes I really don't care or have no sympathy for a black person in law who has something done to him/them by white officer(s) because those same black officer can see it happen to another brother/sister and do/say nothing yet wanna use the same race card for protection if it happens to them / their family but want lift a finger and would even collaborate on a statement written and confirm details by other officer account of an abuse/murder done by white officer(s). This police chief should be asked to step down. He has demonstrated his willingness to cooperate with criminal actions of other law enforcement individuals.
