Oh my god a map, haha! That's pretty funny, but I see it! It's the mouse upside down, with an X'd out eye - it's an image of the mouse, dead. The song is a story told from the perspective of a mouse, and the video is a sort of abstract version of the story. He struggles and searches to solve a puzzle, but the end result turns out to be his own demise - a Tomcat disposable trap. So glad you enjoyed it, thanks so much for the video! :)
@@WillWoodmusic Hey Will! Thanks so much for watching and commenting on our reaction. Do you remember Kait from high school? We’re colleagues. She introduced me to your music. I had her on to react to one of your songs - th-cam.com/video/cjIOlCEFTUM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=yVJQbpGWyih51iDH
so: this song was about a time where there was a mouse in his apartment that he gave cheese to. he made friends with the mouse but learned that it carried diseases so he accepted the poison traps from his landlord and the mouse died. the visuals are there to suggest that the mouse was working very hard and going a few nights without food until it got all of the food that ended up to be poison.
What makes this music video even more sad is when you realize the song is in the pov of a mouse that will wood took care of but had to kill due to the fact that specific kind of mouse carried diseases. Will wood saw the mouse trying to take a big block of cheese on the stove in the kitchen. The mouse yes was poisoned But it was a long process. You can see progressively through the video the mouse gets dizzy and sick Because it was poisoned. "Is there cheese in the great beyond?" Is there cheese in heaven is what hes saying because he is about to die. Will felt horrible about it so he wrote a song about it.
as a different person said, this song is about a mouse Will had to trap and kill. i'm pretty sure a metaphor is still there though if you want a different interpretation! it kind of follows Will's music career, struggling and stumbling through it until one day he went viral (found the huge amount of food). that seems like a dream come true, but... well, reality is unpredictable. Will has talked about the awful effects that has had on his mental health. oh, and i just wasn't sure if you'd noticed, but the map with the x on new jersey is actually a shadow of the mouse laying dead. if you knew that and just also saw the map thing, ignore me! lol
I love this interpretation! Thanks for sharing. His lyrics are so smart I wouldn’t put this double meaning passed him. - and no! I didn’t notice the map / mouse. I was zoned in on the X over NJ. That’s really cool. Thanks 🙏
If you ever come back to this artist, my recommendation would be to listen to “White Noise” or maybe “Cicada Days” if you can. I’m sure Cicada Days has a meaning behind it, though I’m unsure of what that meaning is. As for White Noise, it has an interpretation but I’ll let you figure that one out yourself…
ok if you are gonna react to more will wood, listen to laplaces angel, absolute BANGER, some greek influence in there, idk what its about but i wanna hear what you think
Don't suppose one Day You'd react to WillWood's song called 6up 5oh? A Personal Favourite of mine It's Insane Anti-Police Circus Music with a Killer Music Video, a definite recommendation from me.

I felt for that mouse, your work is incredibly creative and fun!!!

Wow! That’s fantastic. What a beautiful muse. Thank you for sharing this. I knew it would have a deeper colorful meaning
OK after I listened to it the second time it gave me quite a sad hole in my stomach, kind of sad

Will wood saw the mouse trying to take a big block of cheese on the stove in the kitchen.

But it was a long process.
You can see progressively through the video the mouse gets dizzy and sick
Because it was poisoned.
"Is there cheese in the great beyond?"
Is there cheese in heaven is what hes saying because he is about to die.
Will felt horrible about it so he wrote a song about it.
Oooohhh nice. That makes sense. Thanks for the insight! Great tune!

fun fact! the title of the song "tomcat disposables" comes from the "tomcat" brand of mouse traps :)
Ha! Thanks for the insight
Fun fact this song and euthanasia are the only songs that can actively make me cry.
What about Against The Kitchen Floor?
@@plum8503 I don't really like that one tbh. It doesn't even strike me as sad
@@YaboiZephyr
I find it sad in a disturbing kind of way, people who can't manage a healthy relationship are always depressing.
@@Persun_McPersonson what does that even mean
@@YaboiZephyr
The song is a about someone who can't maintain or engage in a healthy relationship, right?
