This is amazing! I love the actor in the ballroom chatting with the other spirts, he’s really having a ball XD all the others look so disinterested in him, you could say all his jokes are dead? I think they would benefit from making Constance a live actor during this... at least update her into a actual animatronic... with ARMS?! As a DIE hard fan of the mansion I say happy anniversary to all
@@theheroneededwillette6964 They could still probably afford to do it one night a month on say... the 13th or on a special holiday like Halloween if it makes more sense to do so that month. They'd likely make several times more in late night tickets and merch in the park than it would cost to keep on 1 or 2 extra staff for one of the most beloved attractions.
I was 12 when the Haunted Mansion opened August 9, 1969. I fell in love with it then, and that love continues. Happy 50th Anniversary, Haunted Mansion!!! 👏👍💘🌷👻🌷👻🌷👻🍻
I was also 12 when The Haunted Mansion opened! Was there on opening day . . must have rode it 10 times! Then 5 years later, I was working there! Main Street Emporium, The Jungle Cruise and The Haunted Mansion!!
I was there on Aug. 9, 1969 (I was also 12!) And then 5 years later became a Cast Member working at The Main Street Emporium and then The Jungle Cruise and ending up at, you guessed it, The Haunted Mansion!!
@@andrewcalcagno8272 As best I can remember, the hatbox ghost was there. I also purchased the Haunted Mansion record album with Ron Howard, which described the ghost with the hatbox. The attraction was much like it is today, minus the live actors. The attic scene was a bit different. It didn't tell a direct story. There was the ghost bride on the right side of the doom buggy, and I don't remember a face on her, just a heart with lights shifting from right to left and back and a very loud heartbeat sound. The one thing that stumped me was the grand hall with all the see through ghosts. I couldn't figure that one out. Later in the day I went through the Sleeping Beauty walk-though in Sleeping Beauty Castle, and there was one tableau with the same illusion, so I was able to see how the illusion was done with the sheet of glass. In 1969 The Haunted Mansion was mind blowing, especially for a 16-year-old.
It’s so cool how they used the Peppered Ghost effect on a person! Also, how cool was it for the cast members? I mean, I’d be having the time of my life!
Yes that was one of them. The other 2 were the knight at the beginning of the ride and the hitchhiking ghosts at the end just before the mirrors. The costume and movements on the one on the right were AWESOME!!
Superb! Superb! The 5oth anniversary video is superb! The lighting is excellent, the visual displays are clery seen! Every detail of the ride is magnificent ! This video is a visual masterpiece of cinematic photography! Bravo! A fine job well done ! From john kozlowsky 😀😀😀❤❤😀😀😀😀 I love it !
It 2ould be nice to change it up like some have said already add live actors sometimes. Im sure the cast members would love to do it as much as we would like to see it.
Live actors at the Haunted Mansion during its 50th Anniversary in 2019. 1. Knight in the Endless Hallway 2. Ghost in the ballroom 3. One of the Hitchhiking Ghosts in the crypt
Putting a gobo 50th billboard in the attraction...Out front, ok but In the attraction? Why not just add below the logo "After your ride visit our gift shop and browse the limited edition 50th Anniversary merchandise!" Oh screw it...just display the merchandise throughout the attraction... have the singing busts wear hats, put t-shirts on the ballroom dancers. Sorry but I worked there for many Summers. I just remember something us cast members were taught and took to heart..the Disney-coined mantra of "Good Show"
The live actors are awesome but I have to imagine it’s the weirdest work experience- like that dude is just sitting at a table surrounded by robots pretending to make conversation with nobody, for how long? 😂
The only live actor that I spotted was somebody dressed up as a kight they haven't had that since opening day from 1969. I also heard that; in the 1980s they did have live actors but, apparently they were scaring guests and guests would just throwing things at them. It was unacceptable so that's why they put in an animatronic knight in the Haunted Mansion.
Same way they do all the others, with the Pepper's Ghost effect. The animatronics and the actor are all really in another room, and what you're seeing is their reflection when the room is lit, when the lights go off, their reflections disappear.
How many live actors were there? I saw three. Granted, there isn’t much room to add many, but it looked very fun and I would have paid an extra fee to experience the anniversary!
How do you get updates for when this kind of thing happens? ;; I sign up for emails and stuff and I never got a notification for this event/change in ride. I would have gone. T_T
I’m trying to figure out how they did the dining room scene. Technically, the animatronics are suspended upside down and reflected through a glass ceiling.
I really like having a live actor in the ballroom scene because it's cool to see the Pepper's Ghost effect applied to real person
Which one was that?
You can see that at Universal in the train queue if you want haha
@@pumbaaco1 I think it was the guy who was sat at the table moving the most and leaning over to laugh
I think it would be awesome if the bride was an actor too!!!
Back in the 90s a bunch of bridesmaids played by live actors used to walk around the attic
At some of the earlier Anniversaries they had a few bridesmaids and a vampire played by actors in the 90's and 00's.
Philip Defibaugh wait where was the vampire?
Or the Hat Box ghost! Wish he was a Meet and greet.
Thats what I thought! Though I knew they probably wouldn't do that!
They should have live actors in the haunted mansion for the Halloween season
Yeah, they should
How would they do it?
Literally what they do in the video but during halloween
Maybe when haunted holiday gets its 20th anniversary
You also forget, they do Haunted Mansion Holiday for Halloween.

A Fan I agree! Her story and ambiance is great, but the execution of the actual figure is awful and has been outdated since she debuted.
There was a few other live actors in the ballroom scene that the camera man didn’t show. The old lady in the rocking chair and the organ player.
Clever of them to go back to the original idea of live actors.
Yeah. Like that Knight was a call-back to what they did in the 1980's. :) That's a really nice touch!
they've learned from previous experiences and know not to surprise anybody with the knight now
@@toysvilltvstudios7576 At least this time he knew to keep his distance from the guests.
I almost didn't notice the live actors, they did a fantastic job!
It would have been funny if the knight kept on walking into the wall like in a video game
Knight exe stopped working
I WAS THINKING THAT SAME THING 😆
I wish it was permanently like this.
me too, they should also have live actors for the holiday season playing some nightmare before christmas characters.
It would be cool, but I feel like that could be far too costly. Remember, even Disney doesn’t have infinite money.

vampuricknight1 well yeah it’s something they could possibly do on special occasions, I just meant that it would be over budget to do it constantly.
Extra Disney magic :D
The ballroom scene looked like an absolute blast to do! The pepper's ghost effect looks spectacular with the live actors, as well.
When I was little, this ride terrified me (I suffered from night terror.) I cried the whole time. Now as an adult, I love this ride!
When I was little, I stared dead into a ghoul’s eyes and said “hi” and I was strangely not scared at all

Super cool that they brought back in an original idea when they were planning the ride good job Disney
i'm so glad they brought this back :D i love the guy in the ballroom talking to the animatronics.
Which one was he?
ashleymitts the very animated one
I wish I'd had the money to experience the haunted mansion this way
KimAckerman 21 love your pfp
Wow those new added animatronics are almost humanlike...lol.
If it's one thing Disney cares about, it's their rides
El Mantishrimp
This one definitely
I wish this was still true :((
I was there a few days after opening! I was 16.

Omg the Knight! They brought it back.😯😄

Yes
They need WAY more actors for this to be a special birthday for the Haunted Mansion.
Awesome video!! Thanks so much for sharing it so those of us who couldn't be there, got to take part in a small way. :) *Subscribed!*
Seems like the Corridor of Doors wasn't working. The coffin occupant wasn't moving, and the door knockers were silent. Weird.
"Holy cow! They added starlight room effect before the graveyard! Oh nevermind, its just some dust on my screen."
This is my first time seeing a knight walking the halls. I wish they had that permanently, even an animatronic.

I'm surprised that they brought back the walking knight after 50 years.
I counted three actors in total.
Those ghosts are so lucky! Living in the haunted mansion for 50 years! I wish!! 😭💕
That's dedication. That seems like this would get boring after about a half hour. Anyone know how the employees break times work? Lol
So cool!!!! I would give ANYTHING to be one of those actors
WHY WOULD THEY REMOVE THAT ITS SO COOL
this adds so much life to the scenes of the undead. i wish they kept it all
THAT WAS MORE SCARY THAN THE MANSION
God I wish I could’ve gone on this... they should do this at disneyworld for Halloween since it doesn’t get the NBC overlay
The haunted mansion my favorite movie and rides
Well im done i really need to......
Hurry back. hurry back
Man these are some cool new animatronics!
I wonder if the living knight will be in Haunted Mansion Holiday?
How fun would it be to sit with all the animatronic ghosts? That's legitness.
So, I saw the guy in the ballroom. How could he disappear with the others?
He is next to the animatronics so he disappears with them when the pepper' s ghost effect works.
They actually killed him so he could partake, he says the experience was to die for.
Same way they do all the others, with the Pepper's Ghost effect. The animatronics and the actor are all really in another room, and what you're seeing is their reflection when the room is lit, when the lights go off, their reflections disappear.

Now that's super cool! If POTC can do it, then why not The Haunted Mansion! :D

This is a once in a life time experience
Did they increase the audio for the ride?
Cool, but it's a bit jarring seeing that live actor chatting it up with the rather cartoony ghosts in the ballroom.
I paused EVERYTHING to see this
this would've been so fun to go to
Are they doing this in Disney world as well??
They should just do this during the Halloween season instead of that mediocre Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay.
6:37 Eu ia jantar com eles, I was going to have dinner with them
They didn't hang any "celebrating 50" banners in the stretching room?
They NEED to do this in Disney World!!
Awesome..
that ghost in the birthday scene is kinda hot not gonna lie-
So AWESOME WOW
Please bring this to Florida 😭
Awesome
So. Cool.

Which were real people? All I caught was the knight and the guy at the dining table
Why?! JUST WHY DID ME AND MY PARENTS HAVE TO LEAVE DISNEYLAND JUST BEFORE THIS EVENT????!!!!
I guess I am the only one not diggin' this version.
The type of people talking in the background in the stretching room is rude.
When did they add that annoying baby cry? Is it part of the 50th anniversary?
I was there last month and nope, it’s there for at least the next renovation lol
