is it me or nobody seems to understand that its not minecraft and the blocs have different damage values so its quicker to follow the RNG maze????!!!!
@@rickabay half the time he doesnt follow that rule either, he says hell only mine the less hard material and then he does the opposite later. At least strip mining keeps you doing a consistent system that gives you the most surface areas(plus guarantees you don’t miss any blocks, as well as more efficient paths back to base(faster travel).

NL complaining about the lift being ass while he doesn’t even put the resources in the lift is why I have notifications on for his uploads.
The only good thing about lift is the speed up, lets all be honest.

It is a different style of resource generation that doesn’t appeal to NL, so on that front I understand. But putting resources into it and not really testing it out afterwards is funny.
The two times I have seen him use it, the first instance he just went straight down and speed ran the relic. This one he largely ignored it.
@@Fikayoz Pretty sure the correct way to use the rift is to only buy the cheap speed upgrade and use the lift to increase your upwards speed while absuing the carrying weight, since you can use it to drag more materials. Compare that to the teleporter that allows you to do multiple runs between each wave and it is pretty bad. That is just assuming that you are lucky and you don't hit bad rock in layer 4.
@@Akixkisu If you're psycho mining then the teleporter is defo better since the distance to the lift is generally pretty big, but if you strip mine then the lift is better since with the tele you have to leave it near the resources and when strip mining it means you tele into a place that is mined out already

That's deep
You probably won't see this NL, but the best way to employ the lift is to keep it from being too long and mainly mine horizontally (this allows it to not have to take forever for the orbs to get to the bottom and come back up) and continuously load it with as many resources as possible. Trust your lift and don't mine too deeply, too quickly. If you psycho mine to the very bottom immediately then your lift is gonna be suboptimal.

And also upgrade it more than once lol
The lift starts with orbs, you can hover the first item in the tree to see gadgets base stats. It just feels like no orbs because you psycho mine to the bottom first so the orb has to go all the way to the bottom before coming up again with 3 whole items :P

Tree seed can be planted anywhere to produce "Resources" (The yellow blocks) However, you can plant them near other resource types (Water and Cobalt) and have their roots spread onto it, that way you have a tree giving you constant Cobalt rather than a single yellow block!
if you plant it in iron, you can get up to 3 iron a day
Having a water or cobalt tree is nice but a cobalt and water tree is really sweet.

If NL would ever either read the leftmost Lift tech, or use his eyes, he'd learn the Lift starts with 2 orbs.

i looove the lift, max speed and just zooming up is so fun
If you just tap shoot the flying enemies, they stop shooting and move to the other side allowing you some time to kill the melees without them hitting you.
But you can also spend an extra second to kill that flying enemy and be done with it lol

The wither ability on the repellant is super nice. With the full upgrades it kills all basic ground and flying enemies on the screen within a few seconds.
Super nice for being able to quickly focus down the big threats without wasting time on the rabble.

This feels like one of those mobile ads where the player does everything wrong intentionally in order to get you to play it yourself. It worked! I bought it, love the game but OMG NL YOURE SO INEFFICIENT

NL with all due respect, please allow me to backseat and say you're using the lift improperly. Its efficacy decreases the longer it is, so when you dig straight down it's gonna cost you more and more in upgrades to be able to use it effectively. Instead, you should treat it like a hub and finish digging across the sides so that you can transport everything over before you continue digging down. It's like top 2 economic gadgets. Granted I'll give you the chance to slap my balls and say that all this doesn't apply to this run because of how late you got your first gadget.
see i dont blame him for not being sold on the lift bc 1) he kept buying carry capacity anyway and 2) easily his least psycho mines yet so his resource gain was unusually large already

Not sure entirely what you know/have learned regarding the seed, and I cannot confirm that the info I have is correct. HOWEVER, I have strong reason to believe that the seed works better when planted on unmined mineral sources. I believe it produces +1 mineral per unmined source its roots attach to (to a max of 3/round). I think it can attach to ANY resource (except maybe water) so ideally, you plant the seed on a cobalt source and it provides you with unlimited cobalt over time which essentially means unlimited heals.

lift is incredible for loading up with resources, and then using a handful of resources to push a motherlode up to the base, especially with speed boost. Results may vary if you don't keep your central tunnel tight

Most people did substrates that are horizontal and two wide. This man digs substrates that are two wide and vertical. Absolute psycho mining
You start with one Orb, you can see it going down after you first got the lift.

with the flying mobs if you just hit them once they kinda get stunned and will go to the other side so dont like focus on one if a couple are together
If anything, the fact that you were sped up while on the lift tracks and carrying items did provide you the benefits of 2 separate upgrades

Drilbert is great when you don't psycho mine, so it's terrible for him.

idk if you read the comments on the youtubes, but the lift does start with two orbs. but they're crazy slow and they always go all the way to the bottom before starting their way back to the top. Then on their way up they pick up whatever they find first, so where you dump the resources matters if you want them to get water or cobalt first or whatever. So while the teleporter allows you to go deep quick or wherever and drag it to where you need it, the lift has a higher throughput but you want to minimize height and finish out the sideways tunnels before going deeper to reduce how far the orbs have to go.
Also a little tactic you can use for the flying dudes that go into ghost form, if you want to just put off their damage but you have more important things to shoot at, you can just tap them with the laser and force them into ghost form to delay their damage output.

@Northernlion haha the psycho mining continues! If you want a gadget and you have like 10 unexplored squares left in a layer, you know its in there... go get it!
You can upgrade the lift to get even greater Keeper speed (beyond just the first upgrade). Ignore orbs completely unless you understand how they work.

I actually want to buy this game because of NL's Inefficiency. I know I'll be a$$ at the combat, but these drunk Pac-Man levels are driving me nuts. XD If a gaming company wants a boost in sales, they should give NL a free copy of their game. They'll get their money several times over. NL is an enigma; he can play absolutely brilliantly and at the same time absolutely illogically. His methods of madness are beyond our understanding.

Seems like the extra speed gained by moving inside the lift shaft is more valuable than having any orbs at all. I would probably get the lift but never upgrade it.

While the passive resource transport is a little slow, how would you feel about instead investing more into the express lift feature? It seems you really benefitted from racing up top from the depths with a haul in tow.
90% of why I use lift is for the speed boost, 9% is for using the physics of the lift to push resources up it, 1% is for the orbs passively collecting the stuff

I beat "You asked for it" mode today. I picked the longer time between waves and longer waves option. Fourth wave there is already one of those spitter snake guys.
I lost with sword and repellent early. But won after that with laser and shield.
Its similar to brutal, hard at the start and middle , but late game (if you set everything up well) is not hard. Helps to have a teleporter and not psycho mine like that egg up there .
Do you prefer the split laser or the highly damaging laser? I just beat the final wave without using the relic on hard and had to use the relic on brutal, and I couldn’t kill the three huge drillers that came on one side with one of the split lasers, although it is a very handy upgrade to have.
@@iliya1933 i have never used the split laser. Always wanted to but at the end was too scared to experiment in fear of loosing the run.
@@iliya1933 split is better for general play, but if you want to win without using relic you need giga lazer. That said, some maps seem to have different enemy comps so this advice is just for the 3 siege tower chad ending. The ones with the carpet bombers may be a different story.

I think you’re prioritizing it sub optimally a bit.
The orbs might not be the sickest thing in the world, but taking both lift speed upgrades allows you to get back to your base so fast.
Is it better than the teleporter? Probably not, but you also weren’t given the teleporter this time anyway. With no TP option, lift is your best bet to get back to the base from mining as quickly as possible.
On top of that personal speed upgrade, it also allow you to store resources inside of its beam without gravity. So say you find some stuff, you’re zooming to the top, and you gotta drop some because you’re going too slowly. They won’t sink back down to the bottom of the mine shaft, they’ll stay where they are and possibly get picked up by the orbs while you’re going up anyway.
