Glad I found this for some future changes, just purchased the mystery springs as I definitely don't like having to crank the GTRs halfway down even on the stiffer Traxxas springs
Marc, try putting a set of the Slash Modified/Mudboss tires. For concrete, the truck handles so much better. It stops the traction rolling, and gives the truck the right amount of slide.
This is the last RC I have that I think needs a power upgrade. Maybe it's me and my level, but this thing is more than fast enough out of the box. I did the center diff. up grade and need to do the shocks (both of my rears are bent). But power and speed wise, no way. this thing is a handful already. Great video. I'd like to know what springs you used. Thanks. Be safe!
@@rondogwil you are correct about the power. However, I need to give the customer what he wants and I thought it was something really cool to put together. I’m also very impressed with the drivetrain, that it could handle such power without having any reliability issues. It’s good to know 4s is an option.
Marc, the suspension, does this combo of dampener and coil work with a standard Slash or any other of the Traxxas 1/10th model? Seems to work very well. Or is this only benefit because of the models weight and scale. Traxxas needs more of this, where they do something different. Love to see how much of Raptor could be adapted to normal Slash.
Love what you’ve done with the truck. Do you recommend all the same upgrades if you don’t go with the bigger motor and speed controller? E.g., with 3S is the 2075X a sufficient upgrade, and which chanter differential?
Yes, why not ....Making car handle better together with a center diff is always welcome ! You will for sure gain and enhance your driving experience !!
@@woods338 Yeah I contacted them and they couldn’t tell me if they were discontinued but another shop owner told me they were unfortunately. Thanks for letting me know.
Need your help and input. I am the owner of Traxxas Raptor R. It is my 1st RC car. Love it, I am not a basher. Rather prefer high speed on gravel roads or asphalt. I like my Raptor especially when accelerating the car does not lift his front up. It drives crazy in drift during high speed. Hence I love it. However I was thinking to sell my Ford Raptor R (probably it's not cost effective). And buy a brand new Model TRAXXAS Maxx Slash 4WD VXL 6S 1/8. I think I would like to have more durable car. Do you think it's a good idea for such swap. Or it doesn't make any sense. Since my car is only 5 months old. Originally I was thinking of buying in March/ April 2nd car huge one and just keep my Traxxas Raptor R. Either TRAXXAS XRT ULTIMATE 8S 4WD 1/5 or ARRMA Kraton 8S BLX 4WD 1/5 RTR. When replacing Traxxas Raptor R with a brand new Maxx Slash 4WD VXL 6S 1/8. I don't want to loose Raptor R grip and handling at high speeds on gravel or asphalt surface. In your opinion does it make sense such move? Or I should just buy 2nd bigger car? I don't like when accelerating front of the car is lifting in the air like with XMaxx. I saw some video when new Maxx Slash 4WD VXL 6S is lifting as well. I don't have this kind of issues with Raptor R. Greetings from Poland.
Im very interested in what springs these are. Ive tried every spring combo traxxas makes for GTR shocks. Also good too know why i get TSM wobble on my Savox servo slash's this has been bugging me me for awhile
Let me ask you ...Does every car need to be a basher ? I don't think so.....If you'd like to be more rough you can adapt original body mount and use pins. This car is plenty durable With EHD components and deep cut diffs. You can get this car past 70 MPH with correct gearing and it can take abuse more than Arrma 3s and 4s cars...100%.
I really don’t think Traxxas put a ton of time and money into this rig…same velenieon system that’s run in many 1/10 scale rigs …platform is extremely similar to many of their other rigs also..

Very informative video Marc, I have no experience with the 2270 servo but I will consider it on my next build.
Glad it was helpful!
Thats a very nice build PF. Great Video.
Ty ! Appreciate that !
This truck is insane on 4 s . I put a hobbywing quick run 150 amp combo with the 4268 2600 kv and it rips . Nice video.
@@trailblazerfarms Awesome !! Make sure to cool that motor if you gear aggressively !!
@ParkflyersRC thanks man for sure will . I live here in Phoenix AZ and my motors get a little hot in summer lol
Another Great informative Rc video. The Raptor R is another vehicle I’m looking forward to owning 💯🚘😎 Thanks Again, Have a great day
Thanks 👍
It is very good looking truck.
I agree! It looks fantastic.
Killer build, it deff looks stock from the factory. Personally not my type of RC but I definitely can appreciate it

eBay has several bodies at $149
Traxxas have them on they site right now I heard they took the fox body away but it's back on the site now

54 spur and 20 pinion. There is a lot more gearing to be had. This is a good start for the customer to jump in though.

And it over heats like crazy nothing but a hunk of plastic!
Traxxas should spend money to switch to normal plugs like everybody else. Planty of rc out there to play with . Say no to Traxxas battery.
