I’m reading The God of the Woods currently and really enjoying it! I think you will too. It’s definitely a slow burn but there’s an eeriness to it that keeps me flipping pages. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts! 💕
my september tbr: best served cold - joe abercrombie the veiled throne - ken liu demon in white - christopher ruocchio the hobbit - jrr tolkien dark matter - blake crouch razorblade tears - sa cosby the only one left - riley sager
Cannot WAIT to hear what you think of Ink Blood Sister Scribe. I just finished it and it was the perfect atmospheric magic book to start off the fall reading season. It was less of a book that I wanted to devour, and more of a book I wanted to savour. So so so good and the writing was very good
I can’t wait for your book club and to read ASCTC! I just started reading The God of the Woods and I’m already hooked 😍 I really liked Belladonna and hope you will too! Some other books on my September TBR include Clytemnestra, Dawnshard, Bright Young Women, and The Graveyard Book!
omg Clytemnestra is one of my fav greek mythology retellings ofALL TIME ... Clyemnestra , in my opinion, is the most badass & fierce greek myth women of all time ... Hope you enjoy it as much as I did ..
I am sooooooo excited to hear your thoughts on The God of the Woods! It took me a second to fully get into it. I felt like part II was a bit of a drag (but extremely crucial in the long run) and the constant pov switches got on my nerves sometimes lol. Overall though, it was a nearly perfect book for me. I can't wait to go back and pick up on the little things on my second read through.
I will be joining your book club to read A sorceress comes to call. I hope you enjoy all the reads especially Belladonna- I need to read Wisteria soon.
@@Gillian.Ashcroft.66On the contrary, I actually loved the ending. I think its just a personal preference. I thought it made total sense. It took me a little while to fully get into it thought. I thought part ii was a bit of drag.
Red Country is amazing! Highly recommend. Probably my favourite of his stand alones, and that's saying a lot because Best Served Cold and The Heroes are both solid 10 out of 10s for me too. Love the new hair cut btw! ^_^
Heyo! Really excited to be in the book club! Other than A Sorceress Comes to Call i'm finishing up The Phoenix Keeper (summery magical zookeeper vibes); Then the tbr is: The Haunting of Blackwood House, Kings of the Wyld, The Shadow of the Gods, Woodworm, and Lonely Castle in the Mirror (major fall/Studio Ghibli feels)! If i have time I'll read The Crimson Crown (sapphic Sleeping beauty villian? YES PLEASE) and something Sci-Fi, maybe Dark Matter or Navigational Entanglements!
I’d love a video about where you find time to read this much. I think you have a full time job if I’m correct? And you must have video work as well. And general life admin. How do you do it?! Maybe I’m just a very slow reader, and admittedly I fall asleep when I start reading sometimes, but I need tips to be able to get through more books! P.s. I’m reading Ship of Destiny at the moment. Love it.
I recently finished A Sorceress Comes to Call through the library and really liked it. I personally love Nettle and Bone more, but I love Kingfisher’s writing just like you, so I think I’ll enjoy everything I read by her. I still need to start the Expanse series and Joe Abercrombie since you’ve expressed your love for both often. I also want to tackle The God of the Woods this month, especially because the author is attending a book festival I’m going to soon, so I’m very excited
Belladonna was a pleasant surprise earlier this year for me. It was so much better than I thought it would be. In fact, I gave it five stars. If you liked The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, then you'll probably enjoy this book. Highly recommend listening to the audiobook. The narrator does an amazing job with all the voices.
In September I want to read: 10 Things That Never Happened (carryover from August), Transfiguring Women in Late Twentieth Century Japan: Feminists, Lesbians, and Girls' Comics Artists & Fans. Also want to read Vase Files of Jeweler Richard vol 8, Disabled Tyrant's Beloved Pet Fish vol 2, Remnants of Filth vol 4, Remnants vol 3, Asexual Voices, The Ghost of Us, Peerless vol 1,Case Files of Jeweler Richard vol 8, and Ballad of Sword and Wine vol 2, if it arrives before the end of the month. I have almost completed the TBR of all the physical books I own (other than preorders), so I hope to conclude that this month, and then I will just have my Kindle TBR! Again, other than preorders.
I'm giving Robin Hobb a second chance because of you :) The first time around I could not handle the animal deaths but I just fast fowarded past those points
Hopefully you like Ink Blood Sister Scribe more than me... if I were to update my rating it would be 1.5 to 2⭐. I should have DNFd. The audiobook was annoying too. Promptly unhauled!
@@MsMorri omg yes like I knew the things all had to be connected but it seemed like two different stories were going on until finally they converged around chp 18 or 19 I think.

Really hope to get to The Spellshop by Sarah Beth Durst. Looks like such a perfect cozy fall read.
I loved it so much I read it twice
I just started it for a Fable book club I am a part of. I love it so much so far! Perfect for fall.

I'm going to be reading The God of the Woods this month too! Was going to read it anyway but saved for September for Kayla's bookclub.
I was very disappointed with the ending.

Hopefully getting A Sorcerers Comes to call from the library soon. 🤞House Of Hunger is a perfect fall read, so good.
So excited to start A Sorceress Comes to Call with your book club 🤩
Ohhhhh a great list yet again - hope you love them!
I read Leviathan Wakes and it made me ponder on some things.
I just uploaded my September 2024 TBR video.
Good luck with your reading this month!
Just finished A Sorceress Comes to Call! It gets real creepy at the end but in a good way
I really enjoyed Belladonna!
P.S. the third and final book in that trilogy just released.
I'm also hoping to get to ink blood sister scribe, it's been on my shelf forever! Maybe if you pick it up I will too haha

Where do you recommend starting with Joe Acrocombie
I would like to know too.
I recommend everyone to find the forbidden book titled blackrock secrets; it goes deep into all of this, and it changed my life
Where is this lamp from
Goose girl? Never heard that one

I did DNF it. I feel like it shouldn’t take half a book to get to the plot.

@@the_eerie_faerie_tales yeah, sometime around there. And I felt like I cared only about one characters story and it wasn’t the sisters.
God of the Woods - ending disappointed me. Mundane.
Mundane? 😂
@surpriseitsus9622 Bears death was interesting, but Barbara's " escape " lame.
Find the book titled blackrock secrets, you'll learn all the money attraction techniques there. Trust me on this
