You’re the only OG booktuber that I still watch 🥰❤️ I remember you had a Bastille poster next to your shelves lol. Thank you for always being authentic!!
I’ve been watching your channel for so so many years now ahahah I REMEMBER you posting these recs and I was like “yeah I’ll read these” and I still haven’t read hardly any of the series yet 😂
OMGGG this brings back so much memories. I forgot this was the Regan I religiously watched back in college and got all my recs from 😭 I loved seeing how your tastes have developed over time
I remember when that video came out 😂 I immediately knew that first one was going to be The Name of The Wind. Still watching in 2024 and you’re still one of my favorite booktubers ❤
I loved that recommendation video back in the day, now I also loved you reviewing it and seeing how much you evolved in your taste. I hope you make more videos like this
So much nostalgia love for 2017 Regan! I've been watching your videos for so long. 💛 Yess my love for the Thief series, Remnant Chronicles, and Girl of Fire and Thorns lives on eternally. Still so happy you introduced me to them.
So fun looking back on that era! I think Chicago Reagan was the time I found your channel and I’ve definitely picked up a lot of books based on your recommendations. Appreciate your videos 🤗🩷!
Reagan you are among my top fav. youtubers and surely my fav booktuber. I have been following you for so many years now that it really feels like an eternity. I loved your recommendations then and I love them now too. ❤
The 'it... it's... all gone' about remembering Brent Weeks' story is so valid I cackled. I want to do a reread of the whole series and it feels like I remember everything (generally) but also nothing (detail) hahaha! The final book is so good, I hope you eventually get to love it! I was also watching your channel back in the day and the GROWTH, I saw another comment saying it's like two different people. We all really grew up with you which is special. I bought (and read) so many books cos of your recs! :)
I read The Thief following your recommendation and it's one of my favorite series of all time! I'm so excited for you to reread it 🥰 I wonder if you ever picked up the later books in the series that came out after this video was released. If not, they are so worth your time!
The kingkiller chronicles is absolutely amazing! But yeah it’s taking a bit too long haha. 😂 I totally agree with three dark crowns. Definitely a genre maker! We’re still riding this wave. Great video ❤❤❤
I first read The Name of the Wind when it came out back in...2007? Re-read last year when Patrick's new novella came out, and I still think the first 2 books are soooo good. I haven't given up on my hope Patrick will someday finish??
Thank you for revitalizing so many favorites from 2017 especially the Queen’s Thief series by Megan Whalen Turner. I hope that you can share a video dedicated to this masterpiece of a series someday.
Oh wow. I just realised for how long I've been watching you 😮 The energy is so different wild. You seem so much more comfortable now! I remember putting the three dark crowns series on my tbr. (Guess who never read it 😅😂)
I recently marathoned the entire Thief series on audiobook. It became a comforting story to listen to and I kind of missed it when it was over. Now I've taken to re-listening to it in bed when I'm having trouble sleeping and the narrator's voice soothes me right to sleep!
I love this!! I remember when I first came across one of your videos back then I was instantly hooked, from your recommendations to your vlogs and your favourites! You are my favourite booktuber until now
I loved this! It’s also hard for me to rewatch my videos from back then. I also screamed. WHY? 🤦♀️😂 The Name of the Wind is so good.. wish we had the 3rd… I bought the new novella that came out last Fall (but haven’t read it yet) I agree with what you said about his writing style. Love VE Schwab! You listed so many good fantasy books!
Name of the wind, three dark crowns, queen of the tearling, six of crows and a darker shade of magic (dw the others are in my TBR still haha) i read thanks to your old videos 🤭 these old videos brought me back to reading books after YEARS of not doing so hahaha i haven't stopped reading books since ❤
Delighted to see MWT's Thief books show up as a series that holds up because I totally agree. Did you finish the series? I can't remember if the 6th book was released after 2017 or not.
You're one of the people I've been watching for the longest time, since at least 2016 if not 2015. I still love your videos just as much and it's been intersting seeing your tastes change over the years. I know my favourites haven't changed much, but many have been added to the list. I tried the Queen's Thief and DNFed after book 2 but I do own the first 4 and I've been wanting to give it a second change before unhauling, this video might be my push to do so.
This is iconic. I actually bought Queen of the Tearling after watching your original video in 2017 and I'm ashamed to admit that it's still sitting on my shelf waiting to be read. 🙈
I’ve only recently gotten back into booktube in the last few months after checking out for a few years (mostly because of college, and I did a sciency degree so not a lot of fiction there), but I remember this era so well. It’s so interesting to see how your opinions have changed! And helpful for me to catch up lol
Hey Regan! I love everything you were saying about trends of the time, especially in the YA space. It would be so cool to have a whole video about that - I was there and remember it but I've never seen a video before that fully breaks down all the YA fantasy trends from the 2010s onwards and I'm sure there are a few I've forgotten about - just a thought!
Loved you then and I still love you now 💛💛💛 I feel like we grew up together girl watching your videos feels like catching up with an old friend. I wish you all the good things ✨️ 🙏 💕 ❤️ 🙂 💖
This was a fun watch. I discovered BookTube towards the end of last year and also started delving deeper into fantasy (some current favorites: Mistborn Era 1, A Darker Shade of Magic trilogy, The Poppy War trilogy, Project Hail Mary, Warbreaker, and The Name of the Wind). I’m still figuring out my taste in fantasy, but I’ve got several series on my radar and holds placed at the library: Book of the Ancestor trilogy, Farseer trilogy (and the entire Realm of the Elderlings), The Aurelian Cycle, Stormlight Archive, and The First Law trilogy. Fall and Winter are so perfect for reading fantasy, and I think I’ve got a really exciting year+ of reading ahead of me with these and other series.
i would love to know what are your 2024 thoughts about the lumatere chronicles! i remember picking them up back in 2015/16 bc of your videos and it took me some time but i read it 7-8 years later lol it became one of my favorite fantasy trilogies and it saddens me that it’s not as popular as it should be 😭
I think I started watching you in 2016, and I vaguely remember this video! The ones I've read: The Tearling trilogy, Girl of Fire and Thorns trilogy, Shades of London, Six of Crows duology, and The Remnant Chronicles. I enjoyed all of them, and would also recommend! I finished The Tearling last year, so that ones pretty recent for me. I would love to reread Girl of Fire and Thorns and see if it still holds up. It was my favorite for a long time.
Omg that’s when I started watching you! (After your collab with Sasha alsberg) I was a sophomore in high school which is crazy because now I teach sophomores 😅😅
You make me want to read the queen of the Tearling series even more. I own the first one and want to read it soon. You also make me want to read the black prism now as well. I own it and have meant to read it for a while now but haven’t gotten to it yet.
ive watched since pre chicago and omg ive always loved ya but i used to put your vids on such low volume because of the shouting 😂 i never knew if you realized or if it was because of the mic you used or something, so i obv never left a comment cause i didnt want to be rude. but its so funny all these years later seeing you flinch at yourself 😭 😂 you were obviously excellent back then, but you're truly such a natural on camera these days!! and a lot more gentle to listen to 😅 i honestly remember this video like it was yesterday though, so weird!! and i still need to read three dark crowns omg
I'm now going to read "The Girl of Fire and Thorns" on KU mainly because in the pic you showed, the author who blurbed the cover is my #1 author of all time, Tamora Pierce.
To be fair everyone was screaming in their videos at that time😂 Also just wanted to say that i’ve been following you since you were in college!! So its been a while
I had to DNF the Lightbringer series. The magic system was definitely cool, but I hated Kip and the portrayal of women. I still love the Six of Crows duology. And yes! Shades of Magic! So good! And Fragile Threads of Power was excellent.
The Lightbringer series is still one of my favourite series and the last book makes you see the previous books in another light. I'm also still waiting for the third Patrick Rothfuss books. I didn't enjoy these so much (I discovered them after Robin Hobb), but I want to know how it ends!
It's so weird watching this for me. I have been watching for so so long that the NYC era feels recent to me 😅. I remember watching Reagan with a top knot? bun? filming her parent's (?) house.
The 3rd Kingkiller Book is announced for 31.12.2024 - as my trusty bookstore tells me. At least I can preorder it already on their website. (Maybe it's true or maybe they haven't updated it recently.) But let's just hope ... 🤣
I read Three Dark Crowns when it came out and was so bummed out to have been absolutely bored to tears reading it. I felt like I was the only person who didn't love it!😂
I am quite glad you've toned down your voice a tad over the years 😂 Did like six of crows. Dnf'd second kingkiller book... Kvothe and others were annoying. I actually really disliked the second of the #veschwab books that girl in there was just so intensely unlikable.. still like the first one. Haven't gotten to the rae Carson books yet... or the tearling books (they are on the tbr!) Dind't like Brent weeks color books. Actually like the night angel books way more😂 still need to read the newest one of those...
I recently rerread kingkiller chronicles. I found the first book enjoyable and gave it 3.5 stars. The second book, however, felt like a 1000 page filler to me. I ended up rating it 2 stars. It's not my favorite series anymore.
Its so funny because youre one of the first booktubers i ever found but i totally stopped watching for years becsuse of the screaming. Then a couple of years ago one of your videos was recommended to me and tried it out and thought to myself "oh she doesnt scream anymore" lol.
i wasn’t here for this era but the difference in regan’s energy is so funny. it’s like watching two different people 🤭
I remember watching you back then 😊❤️ I feel like everyone was screaming on booktube back then haha
its was the vibe lololol
It wasn’t just booktubers, it was all TH-camrs 😂
Energized Regan vs Cosy Regan 😄
hahahaha
You’re the only OG booktuber that I still watch 🥰❤️ I remember you had a Bastille poster next to your shelves lol. Thank you for always being authentic!!
I’ve been watching your channel for so so many years now ahahah I REMEMBER you posting these recs and I was like “yeah I’ll read these” and I still haven’t read hardly any of the series yet 😂
haahhahaaha
your comment is a whole vibe. love it ! i'm the same
OMGGG this brings back so much memories. I forgot this was the Regan I religiously watched back in college and got all my recs from 😭 I loved seeing how your tastes have developed over time

ahhhh thank you for watching!!!
Omg I’ve been watching you since before this video, what a time 🥺 definitely bought a lot of these because of you haha
I loved that recommendation video back in the day, now I also loved you reviewing it and seeing how much you evolved in your taste.
I hope you make more videos like this

What a fun trip down memory lane 💕 I would love to see more videos like this from you!
So fun looking back on that era! I think Chicago Reagan was the time I found your channel and I’ve definitely picked up a lot of books based on your recommendations. Appreciate your videos 🤗🩷!
!!!!! thank you so much!

I still remember that video so vividly! Still watch and enjoy your videos a lot.
I completely forgot The Kiss of Deception! I loved that book! Thanks for the memories.
Thank you for revitalizing so many favorites from 2017 especially the Queen’s Thief series by Megan Whalen Turner. I hope that you can share a video dedicated to this masterpiece of a series someday.
I started following you a couple of years before that video… and I’m so glad to be following you still. ❤

You listed so many good fantasy books!
Thank you so much for recommending Robin Hobb. I just finished Assassin's Apprentice and it was life changing! ❤
Name of the wind, three dark crowns, queen of the tearling, six of crows and a darker shade of magic (dw the others are in my TBR still haha) i read thanks to your old videos 🤭 these old videos brought me back to reading books after YEARS of not doing so hahaha i haven't stopped reading books since ❤
I have been here watching you since forever !
your old videos! love them!! 🥰🥰 so passionate 😊
I love this!! I also read The Queen of the Tierling trilogy because of you and I loved it!!!
I absolutely adore The Thief series. I listened to it last year and was so caught up in it. Eugenides is such a fantastic character.
As someone who’s late to the game I appreciate this. Adding so many older fantasy books!!
Delighted to see MWT's Thief books show up as a series that holds up because I totally agree. Did you finish the series? I can't remember if the 6th book was released after 2017 or not.

omg brb crying
stop i remember watching all your videos back then and now 😭 it feels like grew up together??? haha
Gosh that’s a blast from the past! Have read lots of these because of your recommendation!
Three Dark Crowns was the first book I ever bought that had been recommended by someone online because of how much you loved it!
It’s so funny to watch her react to her 2017 self, I’m laughing so hard 😂😂😂
I've read some of those series because of you. 😁 The Queen's Thief is now one of my all time favorites, too.
I read so many books from your recommendations, I have been following you for so long😁
Wish you so much happiness moving forward 💜💞✨

I was watching you back then. Oh the memories, all the OG YA series 😭
This is such a fun video idea!!
I screamed thinking you accidentally left that eggplant toy there, but later I realized it's just a pumpkin 🎃 😅😅
Girl, feels like I been watching you forever now
I love this because I'm a lot closer to 2017 Regan in my reading journey and added too many things to my TBR
I read Six of Crows duo when it came out and loved it. And then I reread it again this year and it still holds up. ❤
Omg that’s when I started watching you! (After your collab with Sasha alsberg) I was a sophomore in high school which is crazy because now I teach sophomores 😅😅
wow you look really good in this colour!
this was so much fun to watch!
The chicago appartement is when i started watching your channel ❤
Omg please do more of these !!
Loved this brought me back!❤
You make me want to read the queen of the Tearling series even more. I own the first one and want to read it soon. You also make me want to read the black prism now as well. I own it and have meant to read it for a while now but haven’t gotten to it yet.

great video as always, I would suggest people looking into this to read 'Magnetic Aura' from Talesio
This is making me want to go back to some old faves! On my way to libby now to check for Kendare Blake lol
Oh this is gonna be so fun to watch! Starting while I eat some soup ❤
To be fair everyone was screaming in their videos at that time😂 Also just wanted to say that i’ve been following you since you were in college!! So its been a while
this format of videos suits me a lot
my girl regan was always sporting a bold lipstick back in the day
I had to DNF the Lightbringer series. The magic system was definitely cool, but I hated Kip and the portrayal of women.

I have all of the Three Dark Crowns series and haven't read them 😭 I still haven't read Kiss of Deception 😭
I think we were all right on this one 15:30
i lowkey miss this time of booktube and book recs
Omgg remember when you uploaded it 😭
I read Three Dark Crowns when it came out and was so bummed out to have been absolutely bored to tears reading it. I felt like I was the only person who didn't love it!😂
About every other TH-cam at that time was yelling at the camera too so you’re all good 😂
I always associate you with the black prism series for some reason 😂
you got a new sub
Omg 2017 Regan really do yell
I am quite glad you've toned down your voice a tad over the years 😂

It's not my favorite series anymore.
❤❤
I read the first two books in the Three Dark Crowns saga and couldn't push myself through the third one. I kinda hated the characters.
Forgot how much you used to remind me of Emma Roberts !
Its so funny because youre one of the first booktubers i ever found but i totally stopped watching for years becsuse of the screaming. Then a couple of years ago one of your videos was recommended to me and tried it out and thought to myself "oh she doesnt scream anymore" lol.
I know no one cares now but it's pronounced like Quote with TH. K-wo-oothe
It would’ve been funny if. You mentioned Harry Potter and reacted to that, like uh…
this video really clicks with some of the things I've been reading in 'Magnetic Aura' from Talesio
first
everyone on booktube was so loud then and for what 😭
oh wow you were so much thinner back then
