  • Modeling a city in Nomad
    I spend so much time making creatures and characters that I forget how much fun it is modeling a whole city! And now we have amazing apps like Nomad Sculpt that are not just great for sculpting but can also be used to make a low poly cityscape.
    In this video we will take a look at how to use primitive shapes like cubes and tubes to make a whole low poly city. Using the new post processing features we can make cool looking wireframe buildings that you can tailor to your own style whether that be a Cyberpunk 2077 city or modern day New York!

    Nomad Sculpt on the Ipad isn't the first or best program for low poly work but heres a way to get a low poly city made.

    I am consistently amazed by what this program is capable of producing. To think that a few short years ago, we were only able to make low poly creations that were wholly unimpressive when compared to those produced by desktop sculpting programs. Is Nomad even a year old? The future is bright for creating in 3D ! Great job Glen.

      Nomad helped me finally get over the years long hurdle of starting to REALLY get into modeling, I’ve made so many models since and every day I keep learning new tricks and possibilities with the software! It’s great

    You could also make a high poly ground, mask little boxes on it and extrude out the buildings. Then further mask and extrude details, array windows on them or whatever. This could be good if you wanted to make a specific floor plan.

    Hey, bro…I commented on this video 6 months ago, but I just watched it again…and it blew my mind again. What a powerful way of thinking, presented in such a simple, building blocks way. These are the kinds of lessons that pull back the curtain. Been teaching awhile? ✌️🥃🎩

    I’ve stepped away from the T Rex course just to do some low poly stuff and circled back to this great video. One question: I seem to have a hard time finding how to validate these low poly shapes if I don’t do it right away. So, for example, I Wanted to experiment with stamping on the windows on some of the shapes but I can’t find the validate function in any of the menus. I delayed validating the primitives to do the various duplicating…Where does it disappear to?

    Is it possible to snap objects in Nomad, because I can’t seem to find that feature.
    You talked about that You were not snapping the windows, that’s why I ask if snapping is possible in Nomad.

    Hey glen just wondering can you start on working on Interiors rather than just exteriors in nomad now?

    • @SouthernGFX
      @SouthernGFX  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi John. What sort of thing are you thinking about? I don’t really do that many full scenes as Nomads real time lighting is limited to three lights just now. Let me know what you’d like to see.

    YES - WOW man ...should i oreder my Ipad pro now? 1TB version?

    • @righttoexplain
      @righttoexplain 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      1tb is overkill. 256gb is enough for almost everything.

    • @SouthernGFX
      @SouthernGFX  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 1tb is overkill for storage BUT you have to order the 1 or 2tb in order to get 16 gig of ram. I ramps the price but it future proofs it. The 512 and below has 8gig

      It's an extra 900 here in AU. 🥴. At least I'm getting an improvement with the 256gb on pretty much anything from my old 10.5 inch. Can't wait.
