- SEPTA plans to replace service along its Route 15 trolley line with buses for at least the next year, leaving Philly, at least for now, with no surface only trolley line.

Misleading title. Trolleys being pulled temporarily for repairs.
Glad we learned this.
The tracks have been restored in concrete at the East End of the line. Complete with new catenary and a refurbished Loop.
That's one thing you got to love about SEPTA they like to have a variety of transportation vehicles
Despite it all the route 15 trolleys deserve sometime off the rails for lots of repairs as buses take over. I have no doubt they will be back in service in due time once it's all said and done. This is not a goodbye to the trolleys never has never will.
Trolleys are more comfortable since you are seated higher up.
Actually. The trolleys aren't gonna be gone forever. They're being temporarily replaced with buses, till the trolleys are repaired. There's a lot of trolleys to repair, and so SEPTA is taking longer to repair the trolleys, also the pandemic made the repair take longer as well.
Soooo do y’all not know about the 101 (Media to 69th street) and the 102(Sharon Hill to 69th street)? Cos they NEVER go underground. The trolleys in center city only shut down to fix the railroads. If they shut down the 15 to the busses then we fighting 🤷🏾♀️

When I was designing Annabelle Greenliner, I made her look fat, and be in a wheelchair, considering the accidents that the trolley 15 got in over the years, and the fact that the trolley 15 is thicker-looking than the trolleys used on 11, 13, 34, 36, 101, and 102 routes are why Annabelle Greenliner is in a wheelchair, and is fat-looking. Annabelle Greenliner is a human incarnation of the trolley route 15.
Sad that the trolley 15 got replaced with buses... but it is temporary, as the trolleys need repairs.
@Samanthamus: Why can't they use the newer Kawasaki Trolleys on this route in the meantime!? I think the Route 15 deserves much newer vehicles.
@@albertcarello619 SEPTA doesn't want people in the Girard Avenue Neighborhood to get upset and say "WHY DO YOU HAVE TO REPLACE THE HISTORICAL TROLLEYS WITH THESE LIMP 80S KAWASAKI TROLLEYS!" besides, SEPTA wants to have people see the history in action on Girard Avenue, and also, the pcc2 trolley itself is a tourist attraction, as it gets tourists to the Philadelphia zoo, and if SEPTA replaced the pcc2 trolleys with kawasaki trolleys, the tourists might not want to ride the trolley route 15 anymore, and that would lead to the Philadelphia Zoo just losing visitors, and money, then eventually shutting down. Also, they're doing repairs on the tracks, and so using Kawasaki trolleys on tracks that are in process of being repaired wouldn't be a good idea, since derailments would happen a lot, so they have the buses taking over for the trolley, and such. Also, SEPTA does not want to have a fleet of all kawasaki trolleys on all of the trolley routes, because not everybody will like the same thing on all trolley routes, and so SEPTA went like "ok, we can have the 15 trolley be the last of the historical trolleys, and be the remnant of the past, and be an actively moving artifact for future generations to see and ride. The other trolley routes which would be 10, 11, 13, 34, 36, 101, and 102 would all be kawasaki trolleys. The 15 trolley would be the only pullman trolley." And so they went with that.
They need to have the Route 15 go back to Richmond and Westmoreland

You've been mislead by the title.
The trolleys on route 15 are getting repairs, and so the buses are taking over till the trolleys are repaired. They do the similar thing with the subway trolleys.

The buses are taking over temporarily, as the trolleys get repaired. Also, the context that your comment and pfp give me indicate to me that you must be 1 of those car drivers whom kept on driving around the trolleys, trying to avoid hitting the trolleys and its passengers, but apparently fuck up, and made SEPTA yeet those trolleys into a repair shed and put buses out on the lines. How would you feel if I took your car a drove it into a train station, and then accuse you of being a drunk driver?
