I honestly cannot fathom how you know all of this: what paints to use, what will suit the project best, how to make something look like something else, etc. I envy and crave your artistic souls, you damn sorcerers!
Trial and error is a big part of any art or crafting journey. Don't be afraid to play around with ideas and try things regardless of results. Learning what happens when you do this or that will benefit you more and more with each project. Remember to have fun and you can do it too!
Looks great again guys think the walnit was a perfect choice for the stand, you could have possibly saved a bit of sanding by sanding the original 3d print until it was polished the silacone would have been smoother then so your recasts would have also come out smooth
A trick I picked up during silversmithing: If you're sanding something that is supposed to be level, sand in figure 8 shapes. That way, the result won't dip to one corner or won't have a warped surface! (edit: spelling, my NEMESIS!)
Faaaaaantastic. You guys are my spirit animal and when I grow up I want to be just like you. Keep doing that thing you do so that I can emulate you to the best of my abilities!
I was so happy when Wubby talked about this channel on his stream, I've been watching you guys for years now. I love all the work you put in these videos
very cool guys. |I wish I'd found you sooner. this kinda of thing you guys do is where I wanted my hubby and I too go with artisticness. he was a blacksmith. he passed last September. I've become the Crone alone but am so glad I found you as the inspiration has amped up my desire to continue moving forward with the vision I had for us. the things I will be doing will be different but you guys will help me to keep the fun in it all. very cool :D
That does look amazing, but given the time and effort you two put into it i am not surprised! Of course my mind yelled "Witchcraft" around 2.07 when Hansi was making the resin block. I am also happy Martina managed to keep her sweet tooth urges under control and not actually eat the resin blocks. :D
BEAUTIFUL!! That's all I can say. The wood choice was perfect, and I loved the way you displayed the runes semi-circle like that. Now to wait for the next installment :D :D Y'all SERIOUSLY need to do more projects together like this! I like your individual projects of course but you appear to have more fun together which adds that... something extra special to it :)
I've been a fan of your work for a little bit now but it's so nice to see you getting exposure from Wubby's channel! I did not expect to hear him talk about Nerdforge last night!
That's quite unique. I especially like the electronics and the curvature of the wood. Always like watching you two working together. You have good chemistry...
I just recently came across your channel, and enjoy seeing the projects you make. It's re-awoken an old idea of mine that I have wanted to do for a long time. Honestly, I am still not even sure how to start. Maybe someday. For now though, I enjoy your videos. Keep at it!
To reduce sanding time on project like this: Sand and polish the master, not the resin casts. That way they all come out of the mold already polished and sanded. Also, it's seriously worth investing in a pressure pot if you intend to do much resin or silicone work, it's a much easier and more reliable way to prevent bubbles from forming in resin or silicone.
Just to add that once you've reached a level of sanding, you can spray a gloss coating to get the final level of shine. Or coat it in resin again and UV cure.
Those came out looking awesome! A tip for in case you don’t know yet: If you want the symbols or the edges to really glow, give them a light sanding. Highly polished surfaces “trap” the light inside, due to the breaking index. A scratch or defect in this surface allows the light to “escape”. Keep up the excellent work!
Wubby sent me ! Time to binge watch while I'm at work! I don't think I'll be disappointed. Those Glyphs should be in stores world wide I would definitely buy one.
This project when I was admiring the final product and my thoughts said I want one, cos they came up so good and the colours!? Once again you guys killed it. Love this couple. Get it
I just saw Paymoneywubby unbox this as a gift! Really cool of you guys to gift them all those goodies. You got a new sub now and look forward to seeing you in my feed.
imagine turning the runes into thumb drives at the bottom, and making the stand into a usb hub, and each of the runes had different files on it. it would look so awsome on your desk and has function
as a fangirl of Witcher 3 i LOVE that you all did this! its awesome and wonderful on how the both of you can do things like this! great video as always!
I can't believe I've been subscribed to this channel for so long and only just now realize that Martina has a stub left pinky. That just makes me wonder for how long it's been like that. She's really good at keeping the focus at the project!
Awesome job Martina and Hansi. Runes for the elements - purple = spirit, yellow = air, red = fire, green = earth and blue = water. Although I think you got the colours and symbols mixed up. Air is an upward triangle with a line (male), fire is an upward triangle (male), earth is a downward triangle with a line (female), and water is a downward triangle (female). The hourglass figure represents spirit and the meeting of male and female.
I could be wrong, but I believe if you finish the edges with a rougher sanding finish, instead of polishing, essentially frosting the edges, it retains a nice glow on the edges while reflecting more light through the center of the piece. Cool project! Very nice job all around. Excellent rock simulation! And the walnut...just lovely! I'm in the middle of playing Witcher 3 right now!
Wasn't expecting to hear about wubby here but I'm not gonna complain. Beautiful project? Witcher related? Wood polish? Resin and lights? SIGN ME UP😆😂 You've earned a new subscriber!!
Excellent editing and entertaining as always! I was thinking it might have been easier to haved use colored LEDs and some 6mm acrylic but it's definitely cool they are that color all the time!
Cool project, good rock simulation, and a great game to take inspiration from. Only a couple things I could think of to improve it would be to add something to the resin to maybe give it a more crystalline appearance. The other thing was the finishing oil. It's better to apply the finishing oil before attaching anything else to the wood. The oil soaks into the wood, and untreated spots will decay or dry rot over time.
