We loved making these 😍 What other themes would you like to see in a cube world like this? 👀
If you want to see more epic cubes, or even buy them, check out instagram.com/my_storybox ! They make awesome cube dioramas 😍
a fantasy theme would b cool
Would love to see the same scale...but bigger , i loved these cubes!...suggestion for this "bigger" rectangle would be a dystopian city scene, or a jungle scene (combining avatar and the elfes from LOTR!)...Hope it makes sense!..keep it up!
Are you going to review nerdycrafters not another crap kit? I think it would be interesting what you create with it.
A battle scene might be nice or a scene of a person becoming a "chosen one" if those would be possible. Another elven village would be lovely too.
Halloween town!! 🕸️🎃👻
Amazing, they keep getting smaller! I'm going to need a little cyberpunk/dystopian city version.
That'd be awesome!
that would be so cool 🤩
YES!!! That's exactly what I was thinking! I wish we had the talent(and resources) to make things like this because I really I want to make a floating city diorama
do you know abandoned miniatures?
Yesssssss omg
Martina:
Objective -> Making 2 mini dioramas
Obstacle -> "EVERYTING IS SO TINY AND CUTE, I'M DYING!"
But she did it! Beautiful work as always
And in the end, she didn't died at all.
Which is ... Good
We love a tiny resin world… but especially when it’s nerdforged
Exactly haha
@@DyslexicMitochondria hey bro I watch your videos. Lovely seeing you here
Indeed!
This is stunning. Love everything you guys do.
@@DyslexicMitochondria Hey, I know u (I'm a loyal subject of u & Nerdforge)! It Is a small world! 🌎
I love that she adds the clock in her videos to show how long this stuff actually takes. A lot of people seem to think this stuff so easy when it takes so freaking long.
World anvil also sounds really cool. All the storys and stuff ive made have been based irl and i hate it. Maybe i should look into that
Where is the clock I don’t see it??
@@PerceptionFPVthey put it in front and slightly to the side in the time lapse sections. Look for it whenever the video gets sped up
@@PerceptionFPV 3:30
Just imagine how long it would take someone who doesn't have a laser cutter and 3d printer. Creating all the props by hand would take so much longer ☠️
A technique I learned to minimize the bubbles around objects, is to pre-apply resin to all the objects with a paintbrush, so that u can get into all the nooks and small spaces where air gets trapped becoming bubbles later on. pre-applying the epoxy resin now on every resin based project i do, and I see no bubbles any longer. Just have to be REALLY tedious with getting resin into every light place thoroughly. and then u can poor in the epoxy at a normal pace and peace at mind!! :D Your projects are amazing btw!!!
Or use a pressure pot. 😬
If you're doing something very fiddly like this project, it would take quite some time to faff about with pre-resining every little surface - as you say, it's tedious.
Can highly recommend using a pressure pot for absolutely crystal clear results. Even micro-bubbles - invisible to the naked eye - are removed.
Would it be possible to spray the epoxy ?
Or a mix epoxy-something less sticky
I would love to see a transparent dragon egg, with a cute tiny dragon inside. I expect the light distortion to make it look really cool.
WOW YES!! please up this idea guys hahah
@Quweigel Do you mean, like when a farmer holds chicken egg in front of a light, so they know whether it's fertilised or not?💡🐔🥚
That would be incredible!!!!
Omggg
I swear, every time martina does something, I think it's the coolest thing I've ever seen... and then she just tops it with the next projet XD
I wish I was half as cool 😂😂
And she Always seems surprised it works!
I've never imagined in my life that i would want to teleport myself into tiny resin cubes but ... Here we are 😂
These look awesome and even thougt it wasn't the effect you were looking for the spider weby effect on the water add a little Magic side to it i think 😁
I think it look awesome :)
Sorta like mist in the morning!
First, I love every one of these videos!
Second: How observant am I? I've been watching her videos for over a year and JUST NOW noticed she was missing a finger. LOL Guess I've been focused on the master level talent and creativity Martina displays every time.
Wow, I did not realize that until now. And it obviously does not slow her down! Such beautiful, graceful, and talented hands.
This just blew my mind, absolutely long time fan of this channel and this is news to me, hard to notice when they're busy making magic come to life.
Literally just had this exact same moment!
OMG i have been watching for years and never noticed. lol!
I have watched this channel for almost a year and have never noticed that! But your right you never notice it because I am always so focused on the art she does.
I am 100% not lying when I say this is the first time I’ve expressed genuine interest in an ad read and saved the video for that reason specifically. It sounds so cool!
Also your projects are amazing. Really glad I found this channel 🥰 I’ll watch it all over the next weeks lol
i actually like that ghosting effect in the water. it makes it look more like the stream has a stronger current and is just kind of frothy.
Love them, I really appreciate it when you add the clock, as a artist, myself I believe that it is truly important for others to understand the time these things take. As a subscriber of a few years, I truly appreciate all your hard work and time. Thank you. 🥰🥰🥰
Agreed, I thought the clock was an awesome idea!
yes 100% agree!! I love the clock being there such a great idea!
where is the clock
3 ideas for the warping on these huge epoxy pours.
1) do a series of 1-2" pours. As long as the ratios are accurate then the refractive index should be the same and you shouldn't get layer lines. But most resins will warp a bit if you pour thick. Manufacturer site may have thickness guides on whatever epoxy you are using.
2) slower curing epoxy is going to heat up less and warp less. Try a slower epoxy, or adding an inhibitor that will stretch the cure time out to a week or so instead of a few days and that might help.
3) just expect warping and make them too big with the expectation that you will need to cut off the edges and sand it to a glass finish. This may be particularly good if you know that only 1 face will have a problem.
But awesome work! Both of those look absolutely stunning! I've been doing some 3d printing this last year which has been fun, and my kids want me to start doing molds and epoxy for dice and things, so I'll start playing with this stuff soon! Crafting is always fun, and your channel is an inspiration!
Other model makers I've seen use epoxy resin like this have gone for your option 3: made the epoxy block a bit larger and used a grinder to shape the final result.
That has the added benefit of letting you remove other imperfections around the sides of the model, such as where resin has crept into corners etc.
Of course, then you need to have a grinder that is large enough, such as on a lathe, and you need to have the means to polish the resin surface.
Also to avoid the warping u can put ur mould inside a wooden box, it’s fairly easy to put together and does a pretty good job, unless u r impatient like me and need to pour it all at once, I mean who has time to wait these days all stuck at home with nothing to do 😂
Fantastic job on these!!
PROTIP: If you're using an acrylic or plastic mold to cast resin it is best to strengthen the mold by gluing a piece of wood (a dowel or popsicle stick) onto the sides. This will prevent the resin from warping as it cures.
I've definitely heard the thin layers recommended before. I believe it also helps prevents stresses that can lead to cracking (which can happen months later).
I also think sanding down the top with appropriate sanding machine and a polishing wheel is going to give the neatest top. Both machines are table mounted and not too expensive.
That småhl little cottage is absolutely amazing, if it wasn't already encased in resin I'd shrink myself to visit there.
"småhl"🤡🇫🇮
While trying to learn to use resin, I came across nerdforge and absolutely fell in love with all of her projects. Resin ones are my favorite, but there are so many things here that I love. The videos are fascinating and I always look forward to watching them. Thank you for sharing your talent with the world!!!!
Aww thank you so much! 💜
My tip for avoiding bubbles in resin for those who don't have pressure box: coat everything with varnish before puring the resin. It stops trapped air in materials from escaping.
thanks!
Will it still give that seamless look? Excited to try this because the last thing I want are bubbles. And the crystal clear resin is probably way more expensive.
@@ashleechan22 if you coat wood or foam, it should stay seamless, not sure about fabric or organic plants (haven't tried it). This doesn't get rid out of 100% bubbles but certainly reduces them
@@ashleechan22 Someone in another comment mentioned using the resin you're going to pour and a brush to pre-apply the resin.
I really love how these came out - even the curved top kind of gives it a “found in nature” look. But as soon as you said “spider-webby look” with the modge podge I thought OMG NOW WE NEED A HAUNTED HOUSE!!
I guess if you wanted to build a back story to the foggy water, you could just say that the people of the village haven’t been visiting the shrine, which is why it’s covered in flora, and so the water goddess cursed them with “foggy water”.
I think these pieces turned out really cool tho, and they’re super pretty!
I think getting some magnification type goggles would help a lot with the miniature painting. They make it SO much easier to paint the tiny details without needing to bend over to view it on the stand alone magnifying glass. I always use them when I paint my DnD Miniatures.
PLEASE HOW DO YOU GET THESE AMAZING IDEAS?!?!? It gives off a vibe, fantasy, and dreamy, 😮✨ . Its rlly hard for people to pull off creations with the perfect aura, this is why I'm a fan!!! 😁👌
Thank you so much!!
the white misty effect in the waterwheel diorama could be looked at as misty dew fog coming off the water in early morning or late evening. it does add to the effect but I understand that it may not have been what you were looking for. call it a happy accident
Imagine a waterwheel on the edge of a moor, I think the effect would look stunning!!
That weird curvature ontop of the cube corners is due to the fact that resin shrinks slightly during curing. If you have silicone cube molds, you could preheat the molds prior to pouring and the heat will settle the epoxy perfectly in those corners
It so relaxing seeing other people doing what I want to do, creating art that I want to create as well , I don't know there's something about seeing other people living my dream and enjoying it, it makes me feel like a proud mother ❤
I feel the same! I wish to be able to create such things too one day. It's so inspiring, joyful and relaxing watching those videos.
@@isabelbogdan4202 I know right! Other people feel jealous, but I actually enjoy seeing people live my dreams
@@hafsamad43 same :D
these are so gorgeous!! i actually kinda love that webby effect - it makes the water look frothy and alive, like you've caught mist in the air :D but that is also through a camera, so perhaps it looks a little different in person
The amount of talent she has is incredible, period.
One of my favorite things about your artworks is that there's always such a story in them. I found myself being inspired to think about these scenes further. What kind of people live in the water mill house? Why was that shrine abandoned? Beautiful, evocative, and yes, completely adorable!
That's a really believable and realistic way to make trees without all the horrible hassle of twisting wire together, I'll be adding that to my arsenal
the icing on the cake would be if it were apple trees with some apples on them :)
I'd totally buy the fantasy shrine to put as a decoration. That thing is awesome and ticks all my boxes as a fantasy nerd. Great job on the house too, love the amount of detail you put in.
Every time I see a miniature build I am going to appreciate them more because of all the hard work put onto making these. I never knew that it required so much patience and planning.
If pixies exist, they're gonna hire you and ask you to design them a city.
To hell with pixies, I'm moving in!!!
As soon as I've figured out how to build a shrink ray that is.
Every time I see "pixies" I think of Sir Terry Pratchett's Pictsies the Nac Mac Feegle from "The Wee Free Men".
I'd love to see them in a wee diorama like this.
@@markfergerson2145 Pratchett was a genious, rest in peace.
@@markfergerson2145 they would either destroy it, steal it, or....... well that's the only two things.... XD
Then after they move in they will be preserved in resin.
That’s a great idea!!! I’ve never seen another resin artist do a materials test pour before, but it makes so much sense!!! 🤯
Edit: I’d love to see a desert themed cube or maybe a floating island!!!
A desert one would be great especially with some wild west cowboy stuff added
there is 2 things I love . really hot and dry areas .. and super overgrown with moss . absolutely 2 of the most beautiful things nature can make
It's probably because resin is expensive and that was a lot of it.
I was thinking that the house being full of air would have been a challenge to get the bubbles out as you poured. The results are clear you know what you are doing. :)
Several tiny cube dioramas that could be fit together in various ways would be an awesome project.
Something you could try to avoid color bleeding, is give it a spray with some clear coat paint. Helps seal stuff up so you avoid bubbles too.
They look amazing!!
And as suggested in the live chat, would you consider using the modge podge and cotton to make a spider room for like halloween or maybe just for fun? Or some other use for spider webs since ancient and Halloween-y is some of your best aesthetics lol
A tip when pouring from the jug to the mold, pour it over the back of a spoon as it goes in, i found this removed most of the bubbles at the pour stage
Have you guys done one of those "ships in a bottle" yet?
I bet you could after all this practice with tiny worlds in resin cubes lol
OMG, yes! Now I really want them to do it. It'll be so epic!
@@Namoraslife Just think of it, a recreation of the ships kept in bottles ala Blackbeard On Stranger Tides style.
@@StoriesbyIrish yaaaaasssss!
Love that idea!
Might be a good opportunity for a collaboration with @Bens_Worx.
That would be awesome!
I always try to seal anything that goes into resin - basically just brush it all down with resin :) Avoids bubbles almost all the time (I don't have a pressure chamber) ...
After watching the channel for several months i realized why i like your work. You use technology to enhance your talent instead of relying on tech to replace a lack of talent
These are amazing! I love how clear the resin turned out for both of these, it looks magical! And the little lights just make it perfect!
Someone make a petition to make Martina always link her sweaters in the description. Girl, every time I see one of your videos I go sweater shopping. They are all so awesome. That pink cable knit one at the end is just... 💕
Martina is the best
I love how excited she gets about her own art, that’s awesome
I love your Epoxi DIYs. I wasn't aware what you can make with it. Or never thought about it.
after dropping out of art school, I haven't had motivation to make any art since, but these resin videos are soooooo cool and lowkey inspiring. Maybe I'll try it out...
This is pog. wish I could post my results here.
Two projects simentaneously and top of it, the level of patience and detailing in this project is mindblowing. It's cute, especially the tiny house with those flickering lights.
Martina, your creativity knows no bounds! What a wonderful project. Thank you for sharing your processes on this channel... I find them so incredibly therapeutic to watch, and always come away inspired!
Aw that makes me so happy to hear!
The House is EPIC. I found myself asking, why not use a cylinder for the second one... and increasing the volume footprint by 15% - 20% to give it a larger viewing area.... Both are absolutely amazing. Your imagination, crafting skills and tenacity to get it done is the best I have seen WOW.... JUST WOW
I love that the lights in the tiny house flicker just a tiny bit like a fireplace is burning inside
Actually, in my humble opinion, the effect of the mod podge and its reaction with the resin, produced such a real seeming river..beautiful!!
I didn't realise that seeing a diorama being madde could make me feel the same way that a book does - i just want to live in that world so badly!!!!!
Me a 28 year old Trucker: that’s the cutest damn house I’ve ever seen.
27 year old blacksmith here: look at those tiny shingles!
53 yr old SAHM here: I want that house for a nightlight.
you are all young at heart! (to be fair, your ages still seem *actually* young as well lol)
I love how when you do work time-lapses you include a clock because that really helps with putting things into perspective as a viewer!
It may be a good idea to pour more than you think you need and sand it down later to the perfect level because the additional pour is kind of obvious. Beautiful work as always!
Awesome as always!! Loved this project and learned quite a bit. Just received my laser cutter and 3d printer and am excited to get started playing! Thank you! ❤️
I never comment on things, but I just want to say, I just think it so amazing that you can create everything that comes to your mind. You have an idea, and you can make it a reality. It is just so inspiring! YOU are what these tools were made for!! ❤️❤️ thank you for sharing your talents!!
Me: Looking for perfect tiny home to live in, sees Martina create a miniature world in resin. Yep, let me pack. I'll move right in.
Seriously though, those are fantastic. I'd be thrilled to have a piece like that on my bookcase to show off. :D
This is insane. It’s like you froze in time this magical/medieval places. It gives room to imagination on fantasy stories and I love it so much! Thank you for putting the time and dedication into making this insane videos c:
Loved your dioramas. I'm staring on this resin world and I'm educating myself about how to handle resin and others. I'll keep watching your videos, good tips and good ideas. Best regards from Guatemala.
These are so cool! When you have them together I think the water actually makes perfect sense. It has to be some interaction with the magical statue and wishing well. lol. I wonder if it's possible to make a tiny resin world inside.... a sphere?
That was amazing. Martina, your painting skills are top shelf, all the objects just came to life once they were painted!! ❤️❤️
The dioramas look absolutely amazing!
Drinking game idea : take a shot every time Martina's hairstyle changes
Love the little one with the statue it’s so precious. ☺️
I only just discovered your channel a week ago. I am blown away by your talent, you're amazing! I have subscribed and I love looking at the many things you have created. Thanks for making life a little bit more magical. I envy your workshop and gear, amazing! 👍
I just love your painting skills. 😊 Especially for models and dioramas!
These ideas are so cool ! Love it, it always makes me want to be a small little fairy to go live in them🥰🌿😩✨
I love seeing how much your channel has grown since I started watching years ago. You do such phenomenal work.
I LOVE this. These are the types of things I like or have on my desk. Primes the mind for writing and play.
It should be illegal to be this talented, really good job on these they look incredible!
Another wonderful job. I imagined several of these pieces forming a larger landscape. I think it would be awesome.
I wish I had 1/1000th of the level of talent that you have. My God the level of detail in everything you do is on a level on its own. Incredible.
I love how these turned out! The statue one is my favorite but I'm a huge fan of fantasy! Great job!
I LOVE anything tiny. Those barrels are wonderful!
I love when she just goes the little step further and makes these beautiful things like wow 😮
I love how the seconds sketch looks like a goddess statue from Zelda breath of the wild😍 love the finished piece too!😍
I've never heard foliage pronounced like that and it sounds way more elegant.
Nerdforge says something about being Lazy. Then goes on to create tiny dioramas that are just so detailed and beautiful.
Wow girl you are amazing.
Yes please more on these. It's what I would want to get into.
Just gotta say, that underwater bubble incident was the happiest accident I’ve ever seen. I was so glad you couldn’t get all of the bubbles out. Especially the ones by her hand. It added so much life and magic to it all. I also find it really cool how you inspire other artists to try stuff like this hehe I keep hearing “inspired by nerdforge” which is real cool. In a lot of ways I can relate to you, and the way you handle these projects and keep going really gives me energy and inspiration. I don’t get that from many places or people so it’s really a big deal from me. I really a appreciate that. Also it’s really fun and inspiring to watch these. I’ve started to have enough energy to work on building my own artistic skills and more confidence in it too. I really am grateful for that :) Pretty sure we’re the same age lol so all the more relatable (though partly what makes me feel I need to work harder, need to catch up, the healthy competition lol keeps me actively improving). Anyway, I’ve had fun watching new and old videos and look forward to more. Also these are really cool and cute... never worked on anything like that, but this made me wanna try haha really cool idea. That said I don’t have any of the special equipment you used in the end, but hey. Gotta start somewhere xD ps Th at hairstyle at the end was so cute~
Take some tips from woodworkers on epoxy pouring, paint porous surfaces with epoxy before the pour to stop bubbles!!!!
Love you guys! My wife and have built a fantastic craft room with almost everything we need. I am currently trying to convince her to let me buy a laser cutter with no avail. You are an inspiration and challenge me to do better with my crafts! Have you ever tried a static grass gun? I use one and they are awesome for realistic grass.
Would definitely recommend Total Boat resin they do all different types and I’ve never had an issue with using it. Evan and Katelyn on TH-cam exclusively use it and they have done some very large resin projects (also they’re super funny so I would recommend checking them out anyways)
Agreed
The skill involved is incredible. I have seen several people have a lot of trouble with resin. Bubbles, melting the piece, turning foggy. Amazed by your finished product. Keep being super cool.
They turned out looking beautiful, well done.
As an artist myself, i have much respect for those who create.
I've seen a few of your videos now and have really enjoyed watching you create such wonderful things.
Have a wonderful day!
The day Nerdforge posts a new video is always a happy day, especially when it's about TINY THINGS! 🦋 🤲 🌈⚡️🧚 🌟
💜🐝✨
Your in a separate, out of this world category. Literally sitting here for the whole segment 😲. And I’m extremely ADD. LOL
Not going to lie I watching this 3 times already over the past 4 days it never gets old
Your enthusiasm is infectious! you're extremly talented, nice work
Another trick to pouring resin from high up is using a stick or long flat surface, angled into the diorama so that it’s just streaming into the mold instead of pouring into it. Has it pros and cons. Always a nice idea to experiment with next time.
Creative, beautiful and nicely done - every project you do is a declaration of love to creativity itself combined with charme and determination to get the best result possbile - love it!
how is it that whatever Martina and Hansi touch, it turns to a magical object? love you guys' work!
You are amazingly creative! Your artwork is AWESOME!
these little cubes are fantastic! amazing work as always
You would make amazing DND dioramas, I've seen one before and it was amazing but I love how tiny these are. You could do a tiny adventure of dnd
I don’t know why but this feels like I’m watching a better, nerdier, version of the Great British Baking Show (if that’s even possible😄) so mesmerising and fun💕thank you for sharing you imagination with us🌈✨
Loved them both. There was a detail missing though, whisps of smoke from the chimney would look awesome in the epoxy.
Just found your chanel and have been binge watching ever since. You make, draw and paint some amazing things 😍
For the webby water - a winter setting would have been perfect to let it mould into the overall setting perfectly fine
I love these! I think you'll have the same issue on the top no matter which epoxy you use dur to the pressure chamber. I would recommend pouring an additional 1-2 cm of material, then cutting it square on a band saw and polishing it clear.
