  • Armstrong WING FG vs. SUP Foil Board
The New FG takes a different approach on board design, is that good or bad? The Wing SUP has been out for a few years and has been the standard in which we compare all boards too. The short answer......
The FG board is sleeker, longer and faster to go from planning to foil. We feel the board rips faster turns and provides a more positive connection between you and the foil. If your seeking performance out of your Wing Foil board then this needs to be on your radar.
The Wing SUP without a doubt provides more stability while the board is not on foil, Beginners and early intermediate riders may feel more confident on this board compared to its narrower longer brother.

I loev your videos. Less fancier in production values compared to some others. But so spot on with the content. And such honesty... without spurting out the typical adversitising material from the brands.

Hi! Great review and comparison! I have a question. I broke two wing sup 50 litre boards while freestyling. First, the side of the board under the major front foot cracked. But it was easy to repair putting a nice and strong carbon patch. After a while the foil box crashed. Disassembling the foil box we found out that the foil box was not tied to the back foot inserts and the white foam in-between was smashed and soft…. The carbon stringer reinforcements did not help. They just were not directly glued to the box. The second board repeated the same path. First the side of the board under the front foot cracked. It was fixed the same way as the first board. And then the board started to suck water under the back foot strap inserts. It seems like the inserts were pulled up and caused the delamination that opened the way for the water inside. I just want to ask about the construction of the new board. Has there been any changes in the board construction inside, such as thicker and more appropriately glued stringers and a tougher foilbox? The boards are really nice but extreme jumping and freestyle kill them all (

Need a comparison with the new mid length downwind board and also the V3 Appletree see them all side by side

We don't carry the Appletree boards in our store so I don't think that will happen. We do however have a second video coming out on Armstrong Midlength hopefully the end of next week, stay tuned. Thanks for watching our videos, have a fantastic day.

Everyone else seems to be going narrower thinner and longer which seems to make a lot more sense.

Definitely a lot of boards like that coming out. We've been riding the Armstrong Midlength and will have a review out on that soon. There are pros and cons to every shape, just depends what you are looking for in a board!
