So I love and adore Spanish and have spent more than half my life learning the language so I have lots of tips lol! One thing I would recommend is watch children's tv shows or cartoons (lots here on youtube) in Spanish and also start with children's books from the library. There is no shame in it, I did it until I felt comfortable enough to move on to more challenging books.

A few weeks ago, I was venting to my friends about having no Christian TH-camrs to watch who do travel/life abroad vlogs. There are loads of travel vloggers, but sometimes their version of enjoyment isn’t great for me or i just feel like i couldn’t relate and I was desperately praying for content that I could just chill and watch specifically of Black, Christian women abroad in Latin America. Literally one week later, your channel came up on my YT recommended.
Tolu, your content, down to the editing style, your dance journey and learning Spanish is literally an answered prayer. I’m from the UK, born to Jamaican and Jamaican-Cuban parents and I have been on my own journey of embracing more of my Cuban heritage for the last 3 years including learning Spanish and praying to God about when He would open the door for me to travel and reconnect with my people face to face. Your videos and the way you have shown the ups and downs of travelling, your devotion to God and simply living life as a young, normal, Christian woman trying to live her dream and honour God continually inspires me and has helped me to trust that God listens and truly cares!

@@Tolu.Travels I'm not saying stockpile garrafons but....Besides that, I want to tell you I walked away from corporate America and initially used gig work to get by until moving to GDL and then CDMX. I built up my online income streams and then moved to Eastern Europe and then my dream cities of Paris and then London. Now I own a home in Vegas and travel 3-6 months per year. I say this to say TRUST your process and focus on the end vision(of course while still handling short term business). I had times I felt like a loser but once I won....It is the best natural high to build your dreams. Keep the faith in yourself(God too but you need to trust yourself too).

I kept up my Spanish by watching ‘novelas’ Mexican soap operas. The great thing is you hear the words and see the action. Also they actually end, not 20 years down the line and still going 😂
