    Wouldn’t be cool if the main questline for Morrowind focuses on a power struggle between the Great Houses now that the Tribunal and Empire are both gone

      The tribunal has been gone for over 200 years at this point.

      We have a Grand Council questline planned that deals with what each of the Great Houses are up to! It would allow you to choose one of the five Great Houses to join, similar to TES3 Morrowind's council questline, but with a new story for the events of 4E 201. Morrowind considers itself to be an independent nation as they were prior to the Treaty of the Armistice with Tiber Septim, a lot of story potential there for sure! That would be our political questline, like how Skyrim has the Civil War and Cyrodiil has the Seat of Sundered Kings questline to help crown the next emperor, alongside the main quests of each. We will also have a main questline covering a different matter separate from Great House political intrigue and conflict, though it may involve council matters on occasion.

      @@godofwarhammer7655 Honestly, it's pretty hard to describe without spoiling anything. But it involves a series of magical anomalies and themes of how various people deal with major change and losses. Very much a Fourth Era story, so we won't have any 'somehow, Dagoth Ur has returned' sort of scenarios, or really any obvious central big bad type of villain for that matter. The Nerevarine prophecy has been fulfilled, that chapter of history concluded, and now we're dealing with the legacy of that 200 years and many crises later.

      Beyond Skyrim is an expansion of the basegame Skyrim, rather than being a replacement of it, so yes! You can freely travel between Skyrim and the new areas we add via the border crossings and travel options like ships and carriages.

      We've got Beyond Skyrim: Roscrea and Beyond Skyrim: Atmora for that Nordier side of Nordic content! The Eastern Nords in Morrowind have their own local culture taking on Skaal and historical Viking influences too. Iliac Bay's Jehanna and Dragonstar Nords as well! I'd imagine someone might make mods of Beyond Skyrim that add some of that stuff to Skyrim.

    Did Beyond Skyrim use Skywind's map as a starting point? While Vvardenfell is meant to have changed significantly over 200 years, is the island's size the same in both projects?

    • @BSM_Kothri
      @BSM_Kothri 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Nope! We have our own heightmap for the Beyond Skyrim Morrowind project, consistently scaled with Skyrim and including the full nation of Morrowind (which was an Imperial Province in Skywind's time setting), so the mainland and other islands too instead of only Vvardenfell and the Sheogorad archipelago.
      Our Vvardenfell looks more like what you might expect it to after such a major eruption event combined with a meteor impact, the slopes to Red Mountain extend much further out and lava expanded the landmass a little in some areas, while other areas flooded. It'll be recognizably Vvardenfell, but a lot more of a wasteland.

      @@BSM_Kothri Super interesting! By scaled with Skyrim do you mean that your island is bigger? Thanks :)

    • @BSM_Kothri
      @BSM_Kothri 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@naughtywizard I mean that if you look at an overhead map of our rendition of Tamriel, everything is to a consistent scale with Skyrim. So it feels essentially how big it should be in a TES5 depiction relative to Skyrim. Solstheim in TES3's Bloodmoon expansion versus the depiction in TES5's Dragonborn would be a good point of comparison.
      So Skywind's may be bigger scale-wise as it's based on the TES3 heightmap which was scaled differently than TES5, I'm not sure the exact difference. But there's plenty of room for what our plans are for Vvardenfell, and Morrowind overall in Beyond Skyrim is about as big as it possibly can be on the TES5 engine. Our focus as a fourth era Morrowind setting is on the mainland primarily, and the New North. I can say Sheogorad should feel spacious enough to move around in, the whole stretch of archipelago included in the New North release is about as wide as the entire Skyrim northern coastline is.
