One of the best songs of all time, Who’s Next is perfect.
Quadrophenias better imo
HapHazard Quadrophenia is amazing, easily the album that inspires Me the most. But, I love every Who album. They’re just such a great band.
@@jjemerald186 oh shit I know you from the discord sever lol :D
T-Dawg 0041 Haha, yeah. Hey!
@@soniczone4118 I partially disagree, Who's Next has greater moments. Quadrophenia has the concept and the consistency indeed.
One of the greatest songs ever from one of the greatest albums ever from one of the greatest bands ever!
That is the GREATEST COMMENT EVER!
So true a real band . There will never be bands like this again . Long Live Rock be it dead or alive
No. 1. Who's next
No. 2. There is no number 2
Who?
I actually prefer Limp Bizkit's cover. The beginning and the end of this song are haunting, like the message of a tormented soul. (Is that you, Tantalus?) But the middle sounds like a release of anger that does not blend with the rest of the song.
Now, these are just my tastes. I do not demand, or even expect anyone to agree with me.
Pete Townsend has a quote that sums up the WHO perfectly, he said we have a lead singer, a lead guitar player, a lead drummer & a lead bass player. Each one of them is a fantastic musician & Townsend wrote incredible lyrics, geniuses all!
And so many other amazing bands from the era. Queen, the Beatles, the Stones, ABBA, etc.
I love this video. It's like hearing someone with troubled mind reveal their diary entry to you, spilling out their emotions. The scratched lines of repeated texts make it feel like the writer's grasping for the right words and sentences that perfectly encapsulate what needs to be said while we're giving attention.
they're freemason peedoughs, see "Pinball Wizard"
That was wonderfully written and very informative about this time, Era. Most importantly, the Who! Well said, I've gotta say, "Great job!!" 👍🏻 I couldn't have said it better if I tried. The Who their music is like no other. They're are so uniquely talented. Never will there be another. 🤩😍😝🤟🏻✌🏻💖
Behind Blue eyes is something that we can associate with and of course when it came out it hit home to many people, the illustrations are fantastic. The album was, and still is an incredible list of iconic songs from my past.
Stunned me in 1971. Still does. Amazing band.

David, a close musical friend and confidant often covered this song so poignianrly well . . . Words to describe the irony of human behavior and expectation through the years . . . Truly a muscal triumph . . .
I purchased the Who's Next album when it came out and I was thrilled that every song on both sides were keepers. The Who became my favorite group when I heard Magic Bus, I still love that song and play it often. I only got to see them once in Concert and I loved every minute of it, it was at the Forum in Compton, Calif. way back when. I own every one of their Albums and every one if them is still in perfect condition because recorded the first play onto reel to reel tapes so I can can listen to them often without degrading the sound. I have a couple of their factory reel to reel tapes and even so I purchased the albums as well. Yes, you can call me a life long who fan and I'm proud of it.
@The SNES Man Many years ago at the Forum in Inglewood Calif. If I had to narrow down the year it was, I'd have to guess 1970 there abouts.
Very smart to do that, so you wouldn't degrade the ''new'' quality of the vinyl records.

Wise investment. Great taste in music. Love the sound from reel to reel as well. Almost equal to vinyl. If you have a top of the line machine and buy the good tape, and store properly, they can almost last forever.
Classics are getting greater with each passing day as only they can.
The bread and butter of any vinyl collection.
This made me think what the hell happened to my Who vinyl collection, and I think back in 1985 I had most of their albums.
I must have lost them in my nomadic stage, or I loaned them out and never got them back...spew.

My dad was a mod fought in northern Ireland and was my hero and I miss him every day and this song reminds me of him the crazy man rip dad!!!!
God bless your dad and yourself my friend
Keith Moon is my favorite rock and roll drummer of all time. Nobody will ever play like that again. The fills at the climax of the tune are untouchable.
Just don’t understand what Keith Moon has to do with The Who?
Sorry, don’t mean to be cruel
Always loved this Who track, right from the off, though to be fair i always go for the "quiet" ones in the middle of rock/metal albums.
Never really appreciated its neaning until I read a Pete Townshend biography.
Now it makes sense.
Thanks for sharing Pete, stay strong👍

My first time listening to this song. There’s so much uniqueness and emotion wrapped in this song.
The most melodic rock song ever written❤ the who hit their best stride with this classic along with wont get fooled again
I know for sure I'm not the only person who feels like this song was written about them... but I really do feel like that with this one has me at the center.
To anyone that feels alone... you are loved.
you are not alone either. This has been what is my song since I was 15 yrs old. I am now 54.

I guess i'm not the only one
Not sure if that's good or bad.

Man what a beautiful mix, from the separation of the instruments, with the acoustic guitar panned to the right and bass with vocal harmonies to the left. Such separation uncompressed really fills up the space to create a beautiful stereo image.
I love this song by The Who! I can relate to this song on so many levels

Sorry for your loss. That's terrible. I lost one of my cousins earlier this year. She just turned 25 in March and passed away in April. 😢
A master class of song writing, vocal , and performance...Daltrey never sounded better, good grief!
Back then it struck me as just so honest
Thank you for making this. You have no idea how much I needed something that matched me. I've been having a rough time lately and I've felt no emotion most of the time. When I hear this I feel something. You've done me a favor and made it to were I can feel something in life. God bless you bro

THE WHO: la banda mas importante en toda la historia del Rock
The genius of Pete Townsend
And Roger Daltry. And Keith Moon. And John Entwistle. It's an alchemical concoction, a magickal working that raised up one of the greatest egregores of all time: THE FUCKIN' WHO.

Classic. Love how this song starts off kinda sad but ends up building in triumph.

The transition is a bit crap, the sad part is so much better tbh.
I wouldn't say triumph, to me it's more like an outburst of rage for not being heard and being continually ignored by society.

Who's Next is such an amazing album, and totally timeless!
This song is beauty at its best.
No one knows what it's like
To be the bad man
To be the sad man
Behind blue eyes
No one knows what it's like
To be hated
To be fated
To telling only lies
But my dreams, they aren't as empty
As my conscience seems to be
I have hours, only lonely
My love is vengeance that's never free
No one knows what it's like
To feel these feelings
Like I do
And I blame you
No one bites back as hard
On their anger
None of my pain and woe
Can show through
But my dreams, they aren't as empty
As my conscience seems to be
I have hours, only lonely
My love is vengeance that's never free
Mm, mm
When my fist clenches, crack it open
Before I use it and lose my cool
When I smile, tell me some bad news
Before I laugh and act like a fool
And if I swallow anything evil
Put your finger down my throat
And if I shiver, please give me a blanket
Keep me warm, let me wear your coat
No one knows what it's like
To be the bad man
To be the sad man
Behind blue eyes

It seems like The Who are trying to embrace the next generation and music reactors which is nice. I don't know why other huge bands don't do this as well.

Who's Next = masterpiece
💯 💶 💯
In my honest opinion, This was The Who’s equivalent to Led Zepplin’s “Stairway to Heaven” due to its similar structure and the use of quiet to loud dynamics throughout the song.
This song imo had so much potential to be legendary (already is tbf), but if it was longer it would definitely be held in the same regard as Stairway. Love Reign O'er Me on the other hand is potentially even better than Stairway to Heaven.
I had a "Who greatest hits" cd and I accidentally left it in a rental car. People turn things in to the lost and found all the time... I went back to get it from the lost and found drawer at the rental car company and it wasn't there, no one had turned it in! I guess someone else loved it as much as I did! I Iost one of the best cd's I ever had... 🥺
Aw. I mean I don't blame them, it is a good song 😂 I hope you get a new one
Well that's a damn shame. CDs are extraordinarily expensive after all, and best ofs of classic 60s and 70s bands aren't just clogging up shelves in every single store on the planet 😉
BRILLIANT SONG FROM THE GREAT WHO LEGENDS OF ROCK LONG LIVE THE WHO.
One song among several that defined the generation of so-called boomers, myself included. C'est la vie.

These lyrics are so beautiful for the right person. I feel like they perfectly show a glimpse of what a narcissist/bipolar/sociopath/anxious person must feel.
