Nice Hotpot ending to 2024, as we look forward to more of the "Dancing Bacons" food adventures throughout Asia. All the best in 2025 from Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
I light up with joy every time DancingBacons drops a new video. I've actually had hotpot before and it was pretty good. A friend of my mom's invited myself, my mom's friends, and my mom over to a Chinese restaurant that served hotpot, and that was the first time I tried it.
Yet another great video. I appreciate your POV so much. The food you and your companion try, always looks so delicious and you make an effort to try as many different things on a menu as possible. Happy Holidays from New Zealand.
Happy New Year to you and the lovely Mrs. Bacons! I don't know if y'all celebrate Christmas in Singapore, but I hope y'all had a very Merry Christmas anyway, and I look forward to seeing more food escapades from you and your darling other half in 2025!
🇨🇦 DancingBacons ... A culinary tour of Asia that this small town Canadian boy would never see otherwise ! Not just a TH-cam video , an eye on the world from the comfort of my home . Thank you so very much and keep up the excellent work . Love these folks . ❤
Wow, such a lovely ending to 2024! Thank you so much for making content like this; it's super relaxing, and has definitely made my life lovely. This year with you both brought so much fun stuff! Stay happy and healthy through 2025.
For once, I am eating something yummy while watching. I really enjoy that they like the premium items, yet savor the modest ones too. And shows you can dine very well on just the posts and a few extras. With the spicy hot pot, along with the dipping sauce I am curious if things end up tasting the same.
Yes, (for the spicy soup base) the added ingredients end up pretty much only distinguishable by color and in-mouth texture, the flavor is quite similar.
What a fantastic video ❤. I really want a hot pot now 😋. When I was younger, we ordered a hot pot from our local Chinese takeaway shop, we would get a clay hot pot with the food in it, then we would keep it, clean it & take it next time to get another hotpot from them to put more food in it. ❤ Hotpots are one of my favourite Asian foods.

Yes, it is. And it is also true that in China the salary is much less than yours. So just because this food is cheap for you doesn't mean it is cheap for the locals.
@ My comment wasn’t intended to be negative, or judgmental. It’s a simple objective statement. I watch their videos frequently, and I also enjoy watching mukbangs, and competitive eaters on TH-cam as well. And I’m always impressed that these people can eat so much.

Ah...the mysterious stalk sort of looks like a broccoli stem :0! I've never had anything with animal blood as part of the meal, it looks very unique and I'd like to give it a try sometime.
Wow 76$ for 2 for such a expensive items is Not pricey. that is 38$ pep person. Speaking from Canadian Point of view here. Here in Canada for that price you can get A MC Donalds big mack trio for 3 people ( it will be even more expensive with the taxes ), a big Xlarge Bostan Pizza with a drink for that or around that price. If speaking for a fancy restaurant maybe a filet mignon will cost you this ( This I am not sure as I have not been in a fancy restaurant in a long time) and only the filet mignon with no drinks or anything else included. In Canada before taxes this meal for 2 could possibly cost around 150$ plus taxes and tips. The lobster price unchanged, maybe around double for the drink, possibly 30$ or around that for the 6 pieces Australian waguy and for the rest total could be around 80$.
You probably don't mean it badly. I hope so. But if the locals read your comment about how this food is terribly cheap and how they are lucky to have such cheap restaurants, they won't like you. Yes, money is not the same everywhere. There are countries where everything will seem cheap to you with your Canadian salary. And so, for example, in Switzerland or Luxembourg, everything will seem terribly expensive to you. It's just that the many comments here about terribly cheap food in China, India, etc. really annoy me.
@ True I did not mean it badly at all. I was just making a comparison how much such a meal it will cost here. I am originally from Bulgaria Europe and I know that prices are different depending on the strength of the currency.

$76 is a steal....lobster, australian wagyu, a variety of mushrooms, so much food
ikr, i wonder if the money translation is accurate. i feel like in the US, that whole thing would cost at LEAST $200

@SkiggsMoDiggs No, it's about right. Exchange rate is ~8:1 CNY:USD, so Y550 should be around $80.
@SkiggsMoDiggs It's in China.
nah, literally know a expensive hotpot buffet for $70+ USD(per person) that is all you can eat. though you still have to tip 15-20% cuz culture

The presentation of the lobster was beautiful.
Simple is often better. A thing like a gnarly iron pot makes everything taste better. I’m in.
Have you thought about making a trip to the US and trying out different foods
I had lobster for Xmas dinner the other day. It was great. I love China.
So does a fermented tea contain alcohol
We had lobster tails and scallops for Christmas lunch. Cooked them ourselves at home.
I wouldnt be wasting my gastric juices on any cheery tomato 😅 I definitely dont fill up on vegetables or carbs when theres lobster steak in the house

You didnt eat the lobster head? Why did you put it in the broth, then? Just for the flavour?
Hot pot videos are so good!

The secret is the gutter oil. Yummy😀
in china the food eats you
$100 is Expensive
Oh no that's bad! 😮 Your oil could be from the gutter you need to take a napkin to the inside of the hotpot make sure it doesn't come out black
at a big chain restaurant like this gutter oil is impossible 💀i cannot believe you believe that they would use gutter oil
