Awesome! It's hard to hide from Google Earth! Here on the east coast you can tell how long something has been abandoned by the overgrowth on the roads but over there the roads look great for years! Thanks for sharing!!!
wow.. awesome place.. love the rock formations all around.. how in the world people find these places to build cabins...? wish i could own a cabin like that in a place like that.. did you see rattlers around? did you climb those rocks? thank you positing your adventures..

Yeah, the guy built the first cabin the hand went into and so many people kept bugging him he decided to build a new cabin further down road hoping that they would leave him alone. Nope, everyone is still bugging him so he locked it up tight. So I guess the only option left is to check out the inside of the outhouse!

I seen something like that in the past, where a building was set up like that and that is where the tools, lanterns etc were stored then they just walked through the back into the mine, Maybe for a small scale prospectors type mine. did the locks look old?
John Norris that's definitely a mine entrance, and considering it's locked up tight, it's probably someone's gold mine that they don't want random passerby's screwing with.
John Norris Not sure if there was a portal in there or not. The locks were newer and it definitely belongs to someone. I hiked around the area and there are mine portals all over the place. There were no signs posted, but it is so far out on a dead end road, I doubt many people find the place.

+CNNPacific Just have to keep the RPM's up. The bus's air cooled engine will run all day in first gear if you keep the fan speed up. If they are properly tuned, they can run in the heat with no problems whatsoever... If they aren't tuned right, or are driven too hard, they will self destruct in no time.
We did a lot of ghost town exploring in a '72 VW bus back in the early 1980's. Those buses are great on those dirt roads because they have high clearance. After blowing two engines (on the freeway) we ended up getting an oil cooler which was a radiator looking thing that was mounted on the rear left side of the bus. It had "engine oil cooled by Rveeco"(sp?) written on the side of it and we didn't blow any more engines after we had it installed. A few years ago our bus was shipped off to Norway or New Zealand and the person who bought it fixed it up, so it's still out there chugging along.
Use a mono pod, limit greatly your shooting while moving, read the writing when seen, always tell a story. This random jumbled up mess will not capture you fans.
