Go for it I'm 64 and love it rise and hunt for about 90 percent of our food go to town once a month total solar power and rain water collection it was hard first but love it now
That's so amazing what yall are doing. Me and the wife have bought our camper and spent alot on our solar power. We have it set up to live completely off grid. We are in our semi truck about 27 days a month and hopefully soon we can find property and do what yall are doing

If you've got a moving body of water on the property, that's free 24/7 electricity. A mini hydro system with a few LiFePo4 batteries and an inverter would be highly beneficial and allow for some conveniences.

The best thing I used to restore the black kettle look on a cold cast iron wood burning stove was non stick spray. The excess has to be wipe off. With the first fire, the windows and door should be opened or cracked for the first 25 minutes for any smell to go way. It’s comparable to seasoning a cast iron skillet. It makes the stove look new again. It needs to be done annually, after the last fire of the season. Unlike many products used to blacken the stove may have harmful chemicals.

How do you get around purchasing land without first having to put in a septic? I have been searching for a small piece of land for over a year now and I have been told I have to put a septic in first and that would put me over budget. I am wanting to travel and I'm in the process of looking for a motorhome or travel trailer and wanted to also have a homebase. I sold my house and have enough for a rig and some land but I'm being told that I would need to put in septic and also some have told me I would need to put in water... I don't understand this. I would appreciate any information that anyone has. Thanks

@@OffGridGrowing you’re not doing anything wrong!! If I did t believe what I’ve said I just wouldn’t say it! I’m actually shocked the channel hasn’t skyrocketed yet. Right now so many channels I follow are saying their subscriber count just drops for no reason and that notifications are not Getting out consistently. I got the notification for today, but I was unsubscribed to your channel last week myself! And I’m a faithful watcher and commenter! I have seen some great growth from the TH-cam ads and I was going to see how much they cost (if anything) for channels. I know of one channel in particular that ran an ad and gained nearly 20K followers. It’s all About exposure. Especially when your videography and editing /production quality is so amazing! The other thing I know works is putting two videos out a week or one longer one with live premiere and then a second live only each week. Wednesday’s are great Live days and Sunday’s are best for premieres. Although those Things don’t cost money - they do take time (the thing you have least of On a growing homestead!). If you just did a live though you wouldn’t have to edit and after the live it becomes a second video too (usually an hour long one!). Even just pulling weeds in the garden or a “live from the garden” open conversation. No topic needed would help with exposure. I’m 1000000000% behind you and so thankful I found your channel. You WILL get the following you deserve!! I know it!

I have a neighbor and family friend who also built out of cob. He made his house in a circular design maybe 25 feet across. When he had a son, he made a simple room out of plywood in like 2 weeks. If yoh want some inspo., ask 😀

I have seen some great growth from the TH-cam ads and I was going to see how much they cost (if anything) for channels. I know of one channel in particular that ran an ad and gained nearly 20K followers. It’s all
About exposure. Especially when your videography and editing /production quality is so amazing! The other thing I know works is putting two videos out a week or one longer one with live premiere and then a second live only each week. Wednesday’s are great

I have a neighbor and family friend who also built out of cob. He made his house in a circular design maybe 25 feet across. When he had a son, he made a simple room out of plywood in like 2 weeks. If yoh want some inspo., ask 😀

Lots of money?????? We started this with zero savings and our income is under $1000 a month total.. it takes time energy and being creative with what you have. We hope to show people that you don't have to have lots of money to do this, just have the will to keep pushing forward until things fall into place
