My dad made homemade sauerkraut with cabbages he grew on his farm in Alberta, Canada. He would chop up the cabbages, put them in a ceramic crock, with pickling salt mixed in, place a wooden board on top, with a weight added to it. It was really good. I've also had and made pierogies with sauerkraut as a filling. You did an excellent job on making that sauerkraut. A good match with the sausages. Cheers, Nickolas! 👍👍✌️
Doesn’t cooking the sauerkraut kill the good probiotics in it, the one I buy is always in the cooler as well so it don’t kill the good bacteria but I guess it depends if you care about the probiotic properties or not.
@@erneholm like many many other things it can be damaging when consumed in large amounts and over a long period of time (fat and cholesterol). saying "stop eating it" is just wrong.. of course one doesnt need to stop eating it as long as its not a lot. if someone stops eating everything thats not good for the body it would be a pretty boring and miserable food life..

Cabbage is good no matter how you slice it
Pickled red cabbage is the best
