Two artistic suggestions: the lights in the backdrop should change with each country, in harmony with the individual costumes. Drama, magic and spectacle would be added. Also as a gesture of peace, each contestant should bow slightly to acknowledge the other as they pass. A wondrous display. The male and female voices are superb here.
It’s a pageant. Often times than not they’re changing in and out of costumes. So bowing to their competitors isn’t as likely as it is suggested. Not to mention others wore more elaborate costumes that were quite big. It would be difficult to do even that.
@@AL-pg3cu I am not in agreement with you but thank you for your interest. I have no doubt that many of the ladies are also supportive friends behind the scenes. In the sports world I am reminded of a recent occurrence. At an Olympic running event one runner was clearly well ahead of all the others and as the finish line was within reach, the lead runner twisted his ankle and fell on his face. Soon the next runner scooped the injured fellow off the gravel and, with great effort, led him up to the finish line so he could still win the race despite the unexpected mishap. That second runner could easily have run past the injured contestant but his selfless compassion and deep seated humanity prevailed and instead he made sure the his friend as well as competitor was still able to shine.

Colombia, India, Jamaica, Korea, Mexico, Nepal, Russia, Thailand, Ukraine, Vietnam were all beautiful and well represented. I think Mexico and Vietnam were my favorites! The costumes were so well done artistically, well represented culturally, and weren’t over-done.

Oh God! how elegant the Mexican dress is. It does not have the fantasy to show a typical symbol of the country (like the Netherlands,) but it combines several elements from various Mexican states' characteristics as the charro dress with flowers from the native groups, the cape from the "fiesta brava", etc. Definitely, it is a gorgeous stylized dress, as well as the Russian!
The Russian costume is gorgeous, but the message is horrendous just like the country she represents.

Russia had me thoroughly gagged. The red velvet, and white jewels. Literal near perfection. The only thing I would have done is make the bottom asymmetrical, as to pronounce the leg more and make the look feel more modern. So gorgeous.

не стоит присваивать такие характеристики всем женщинам. Возможно вы сама очень мягкая ,нежная и ласковая,но есть и не такие женщины, менее женщинами они не становятся от этого. У меня вот ""мужская"" фигура перевернутый треугольник, платья и юбки не ношу, косметику не люблю, и я считаю образы воительниц отпадными, но я от этого же становлюсь мужчиной, я все еще женского пола)

Miss Laos, thank you for incorporating a group of people that often don't have a country and rarely have little to no representation on the stage. There are millions of Hmong girls, young and old, who are so excited and crying tears of joy seeing you on stage. You inspire many to be more than staying invisible when we know support for us is often smaller than most.
Exactly! I get choked up seeing her on stage but sadly we are far fr peace. A lot of Laos ppl are rude and unsupportive just becuz their Miss Laos is HMONG and not Laotian. This 1975 thinking is what set them way back.
@Kay Green I get it. Hmong people have lived as constant refugees, treated as outsiders by many in the country they settled in or were born in. Some feel stuck in limbo as the places we call home makes it hard to feel at peace.

Seeing Laos hurt a bit... my first girlfriend was Hmong. She commented how she was getting a new outfit for rituals/ceremonies, I never got to see her in that outfit before she broke up with me saying "You deserve better than me, I feel your love but I don't know if I can ever feel the same way. Laos definitely brought something different to the table. The host did not do justice for the significance of the bamboo flute she was carrying. First person to carry it was a women then later on it became a shaman musical instrument to guide lost souls to their destination. ❤❤ Great job Laos !
