To be fair, I really wanted to see that game. I don't understand much of the hate, because it feels very surface level. Just because we don't get any sort of old lore in a tech demo doesn't mean the game couldnt eventually develop into that further down the line- and that's what got me curious, to see how that link was established between the main characters and Kain and Raziel. It was cool and innovative, the gameplay looked really cool and followed the trend of constantly evolving, and this looked like a natural progression, one that I am very down with.
THIS. I remember when this was leaked years ago. I thought it looked solid. I was intrigued by the fact this game was supposed to set in Nosgoth far into the future, way past any previous game. I would have like to have seen how they connected it back to the previous games. I know the Elder God was supposed to be heavily involved in the plot.
I totally agree with you but hey people like to complain. it could have been a nice spin off while we wait for some sort of sequel... Instead the series died...
The hate is from the climate where it was made. Had it come out, it would have probably been marred by thr conventions of the moment, a far cry from the deep philosophy of the former games. It probably had contained memes, a "strong female lead", something either about world crystals or time travel (Nomura, you hack!), a morality system.... Yes, it might have been a good game, but it would never have been a good sequel or a good addition to the franchise. The main character yells "fuck you", in a game well known for its flowerish, theatrical dialogues and monologues, that says all.
We cant have a Soul Reaver sequel because Raziel is gone. We can however have a Legacy of Kain sequel because Kain's adventures at the end of Defiance have just begun. He still has a story to tell.
I honestly hope that following the upcoming remasters we'll get an announcement of a remake or true sequel. This series needs to return its one of the greatest and needs to return.
A blood omen remake would be perfect, they could refine whatever they need so they can attract ppl who became fans of games like baldurs gate, fallout, and diablo. Instead of dead sun trying to be assassins creed but or arkham w no real substance to it
I would have loved a proper remake of Blood Omen. Square Enix was also responsible for trying and making the game like Assassins creed and Arkham... I wish they didn't interfere this much. Climax wanted to make a game about Raziel and Kain
A remake would work only if they stuck true to the aspects of the game that made it work. The narrative, for one. That, and a proper time system that reflects the original. Like, the days actually change with the moons, you get proper weather patterns. And, maybe keep the combat system simple. No excessive combos or swordly flourishes. You're playing as a vampire fighting squishy humans. Have extra options for disarming or maybe bludgeoning them into submission enough to drink their blood, but otherwise keep the combat simple and have a bit extra focus on the tools at your disposal, like the magic or the items. And, keep the world slim. Nosgoth had magic because it was vast enough to feel like a kingdom, but not enough that travelling was a slog. Modern open worlds tend to feel bloated one because the world is just too big, and two, because everything has to have some "realistic" ratio so your character always feels tiny.
@@AngryAtlantean my main point is that blood omen came before baldurs gate, fallout, and Diablo. They lost their opportunity to be a billion dollar license now is there chance to go back and do what made those games popular
@@AngryAtlantean no. the only thing to change is to expand the world a little more or make some sort of attempt to follow up on it. Because that was their end, where they became a niche franchise and the other a billion dollar companies, when i say expand the lore, is characters like vorador, the doll maker or how the king of willendorf rallied to battle, blood fountains, when the demons would appear. We need that back some suttle references to hylden maybe. Nothing shoe horned in just make it feel natural to add more stuff eventually
I would have taken Blood Omen 1 & 2 remaster because I loved Kain's character. But this is only because I never got the chance to play Soul Reaver as it was. When I tried years ago on Steam it just wouldn't work and bugged out. PC controls sucked and got stuck on one part and soft locked. I am excited to play this and glad it is not a $60 cash grab. I think I saw it was $30? Not too bad in a sense.
This was not a game. This and that insanity War for Nosgoth were nothing more than corporate's greed that prayed on naïve and unwary. It's baffling that someone would actually STILL talk about them, and bring them up every now and then. But then again, forethought and foresight are not everyone's forte.
@@LucianTheWorldGamer Just a very friendly and honest advice - best is to let that rot. No use picking maggoty holes for content. Good winds to you, sailor.
I remember when this was leaked years ago. It gets an unfair amount of hate because "huur duur not Kain or Raz". I wonder what Blood Omen fans were thinking when Soul Reaver was announced and they saw a new protagonist that wasn't Kain? Dead Sun looked solid. I was intrigued by the fact this game was supposed to set in a Nosgoth far into the future, way past any previous game. It was known that the Elder God was to be involved in the plot, and connected to previous games. I for one would have liked to have seen how the plot played out.
No chance of that happening most of the original VA's are either too old like Michael Bell (Raziel) who is in his mid to late eighties. Or dead like the VA's who voiced The Elder God, Janos Audron, and Vorador. The youngest VA out of the originals is Simon Templeman (Kain) and he is in his mid to late sixties.
@@Nolimit_Lou unfortunately, I know that this is also true (R.I.P.). But maybe Simon would be able to do the lions share of the 'in between' story, and they could use the original sound files wherever possible.
It had the potential to be as good as Shadow of Mordor with the direction they were going. And if you've seen all the footage for Dead Sun it seems like one of the timelines we hear about and you hear tales of Raziel and Kain. People who played Defiance know it was the end of Raziel's story. Dead Sun had a lot of potential. Shadow of Mordor is pretty much Dead Sun.
@LucianTheWorldGamer With how good Shadow of Mordor was. Dead Sun could of been something really special. Climax always would get the short end of the stick. A studio with so much potential. But always getting the chance taken away from them. It would be cool if Dead Sun got finished seeing as Embracer Group now own it.
No one should replace raz! He should go through a battle within the reaver with his victory releasing his the all collected souls once again tainting the land of nosgoth with no choice but return to his homeland for a new experience many centuries after defiance.
Maybe he could be a great grandchild of kain that shares traits of raziel, the reaver blade sensing a connection with the new protagonist, kain impailing the new protagonist and raziel soul inside of the faith blade inhabiting this body
Thanks so much for all your support! By the way, if you wish to jump in on the series, try with the first two games, Blood Omen and Soul Reaver 1. They are both great for very different reasons
@@LucianTheWorldGamer the ending man, you could feel the shock and regret in kains face. The absolute decision of loyalty from Raziel. The sacrifice…heart strings
To all the people calling this not LoK, i think its good to point out that the original developers probably have said or previous thought the same of Soul Reaver and all other titles following Blood Omen
I remember that game was scraped by square enix when they acquired the licence, because it would have been too expensive. They prefered instead to make a free to play called nosgoth, a funny pvp game that sadly died like a year later because of low player base. It was the time when mobas were floorishing and they wanted their free to play game with expensive skins, but it disn't work. At least that's how i saw it, but i know it was more complicated than that, just like explained in the video.
9:50 nobody played it? Hmm i was there, i junkied out on Nosgoth during that year, it felt very busy to me for a game that was still in a permission to access stage. Also Nosgoth lived on in private server, and is still active today like over 10 years later. So you kinda pooped the bed on the Nosgot info there on that part of the vid, but no worries.
It was a blessing we never got this. I recall seeing this and it was everything but LoK, the usage of vulgar vocabulary instead of the Shakespearian one LoK got us used to, the kind of dark fantasy setting that doesn't resembles LoK own Dark Fantasy setting at all, the implications in the story of Raziel no longer being unique but suddenly there another soul devouring vampire around, apparently a whole clan (that aren't vampire wraiths either), the lack of Kain and Raziel in a LoK game, the edgyness... This was something else wearing the LoK name. And it doesn't matter if they wanted to do a proper sequel and Square Enix was interfering, I have serious doubts that Square Enix made a demand to include a dialogue between the vampire hunters about how Kain Vampires can't get it up... Ironic as hell given that sterility was huge plot point in Soul Reaver 2 and Defiance. If this was the best they could come with then Square Enix interference was another blessing.
"Fuck_you_vampire", ha! That tells it all x'D Thank you man, I was searching for the name of that horrible unreleased "LOK" sequel for quite a long time now, starting to wonder if I didn't dream this stuff... Honestly though, having the devs taking a picture of them shitting on copies of the original games would have been less energy/time consuming as to program that garbage to diss the franchise but ok... x'D
It truly does say it all, does it? But to be fair, Climax wanted to do a proper sequel, it was Square Enix continuous interference to ruin everything....
@@LucianTheWorldGamer I liked the gameplay videos of Dead Sun, definitly had potential, would have liked it as a spinoff game maybe (I also liked Nosgoth), but a full fledged main game should be about Kain
@@itarH The thing is, I have nothing against profanities per se... but it was so hamfisted and out of character in that particular franchise that it just ruined it for me.
Probably for the best. It did seem to be going for a typical ruder and cruder dark fantay angle, where it only superficially resembles the original game it's based on, just as the Netflix Castlevainia would later do.
@@LucianTheWorldGamer The gameplay style I'd be fine with, since the mechanics were tried and tested. The story presentation is the deciding factor for me.
Legacy of Kain was a formative work of fiction for me. And while I welcome any upcoming remaster to ensure new players get a chance at experiencing it, I don't quite understand the desire for a continuation. For me, Defiance ends with loose ends, but they are loose ends that serve the theme of the series. For me, ending with Kain regaining his soul and a sense of hope is more interesting than watching him fight the Elder God and winning. It's just kinda dull, and not in keeping with the LoK's tone. Dead Sun may have been decent, and I hate developers getting dicked around by publishers. But I am glad it didn't happen.
I would love to see a new LoK Game. But to be honest it will never happen. It was my absolute most favorite game. But todays gamers are more focused on Action. I dont think that a Storydriven series like LoK would work today. Hopefully we get a Blood Omen 1-2 and defiance remaster too. But
While I am grateful this game never came to be, I will recognize that it had its merits. But my main issue is that it seemed to forgo much of what made the original games special. The atmosphere and mood of the originals were VERY distinct and Dead Sun seemed to kinda just fall under the large action adventure umbrella that covered a myriad of games at the time. All of which while being decent (usually in the 8 out of 10 range.) always seemed to lack the heart and nuance of something as special as the original LoK games.. maybe it’s a fools errand to expect that tone to make a return after all this time but I can guarantee that it definitely would NOT have happened if they had gone this route. The franchise would’ve been homogenized like so many before it to the point of losing that unique identity that the originals worked so hard to create. My hopes are that this remaster does well and we can pick back up right where the games that DO exist left off. With a new but incredibly faithful installment
I'm glad the dead sun project got canceled. It was legacy of kain in name only. We definitely dodged a bullet with that train wreck. I think with legacy of kain getting attention. We'll eventually get a new game that will be better than Dead Sun.
I think this would be so good They gave us raziel without kain for the most part They could have they could have made the IP so massive What's the world of nosgoth
Is there such thing as free will? Is destiny predetermined? Maybe the wheel of fate chose to have it go down that way, and here we are in late 2024 and the Remasters are announced. Vae Victis!!!
yeah i just appreciated it for what it was not a LOK game. game-play wise it had enough depth to be interesting and the skill ceiling was quite high for humans at least
Dead Sun was cancelled for a reason and it's better for it to stay dead. Despite its name, it had almost nothing to do with the franchise, it felt soulless. They went too far from the core with this one. Judging on the presented demo, I'm starting with the dialogue. It was dumbed down, having way too much profanity for no reason, while the franchise is known for the shakespearen style. The voice acting presented was decent, however the aforementioned dialogue didn't make it shine. The gameplay looked like one of the Arkham games, but this is not necessarily a bad thing, the gameplay not being the strong point of the LoK franchise. The community does not need a multiplayer game, but a closure to the story, something still focused on Kain, Raziel, The Elder God and the Hylden Lord who is trapped again in the Demon Realm. Too bad Dark Prophecy never saw the light of day, it is probably what we needed. Personally I'd want to see a remake of the franchise, revamping the combat and puzzles, with a level design similar to what Elden Ring brought to the gaming industry, while keeping the story, the OST and the voice acting intact
And LoK mixed with Elden Ring would be a dream come true! I wish Square would just have let Climax do their thing, as they wanted to make a proper LoK game...
Glad we were spared this dumpster fire. Yea I'm sure the devs wanted this to be the spiritual successor to LoK yet they put a female enemy with her tit hanging out because? As you mentioned the dialogue is sub par and we were supposed to care about dude's family being murdered because? Why does the "vampire" look like a human and not a vampire? Even newly risen Kain looked less human. Core of the LoK games is the story and this seemed pretty generic. Refining combat or adding an open world won't improve the story. How exactly were they going to work around Tony Jay being dead? You'd think the Elder God would be more powerful in an area where the wheel of life exists. Vae victis indeed.
Dark Sun looked like crap and nobody can change my mind. It didn't even look like a Legacy of Kain game. Pass. Give us The Dark Prophecy sequel we have heard so much about.
Don’t get too excited about the remakes. Even Soul Reaver had been infected with DEI. The trailer already shows a glyph statue that was altered to look gender ambiguous. Who knows what those sickos did to the murals of the ancient vampires.
@@LucianTheWorldGamer Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I tried to rally Reddit to ask for more faithful depictions, but as you would expect from that cesspool, they acted as if I insulted all women or something and just attacked and insulted me. And in the end, the mods just removed the post.
I noticed the same thing straight away when I saw the trailer for the first time. Most people don't regard it as a big deal but I see it as unnecessary. Seems like a lot of effort, considering the rest of the architecture in the footage is relatively uncanged, just reskinned / retextured. Why is female beauty being supressed or distorted so much in media these days, and don't tell me it's about protecting the children because they are the main victims in this "movement" as of late. On the official reveal trailer at 0:29 with the before and after comparison swipe, the face and figure of the Light forge Priestess' statue changes radically. Soft and attractive feminine features are replaced by well... Something that a "consultant" would impliment. Race swapping? Defemanizing. What a pity, what a shame.
We'll just have to appreciate the upcoming SR1 & SR2 remaster for now. Hopefully it gets enough support and interest from new players that the studios can confidently commit to giving this franchise the support it deserves with titles that honour and compliment it's predecessors. Don't worry too much. The way things are going, investors know that going woke means going broke. I'm optimistic that we'll get our gaming space back. Momentum is gaining, the rest of the world are realizing what harm that type of delusional crap is doing to the future of our civilizations as a whole.
@@murkyspectre I was so excited for the prospect of playing these games again, I didn’t even notice it. When someone pointed it out, it broke me. I was so happy about this game and just like that it was taken away from me by these activist fuckwads.
Bunch of absolute nimrods in these comments. This game would have done a great job of continuing the "Legacy" of Kain and Raziel. What people (gamers *eyeroll*) fail to realise is that Defiance was the end of Raziel. It was the completion of a story that deserved an honourable ending. And it had one. People crying about having another game with Raziel in it have entirely missed the point and are not true LoK fans. Gamers are the actual worst fanbase. I say this as a gamer.
When I saw the leaked footage I was shocked what they did to this series. Looked absolutly bad and the VA was mid at best with worse writing. I am so glad they canceled the game. Nothing to do with LoK.
Yeah, what those games would have been would have done quite the disservice to the entire Legacy of Kain series. They don't exude the gothic feeling that Nosgoth held, nor do they really represent the core of the series. The whole purpose of the game is within the title: The Legacy of Kain. The games are about Kain. The Soul Reaver games had LoK has the preceding title, and were dominantly about Raziel, but Kain still played a fundamental role. It couldn't ever be a "Legacy title", in the sense of "it's a game in the series, but in name only". Likewise, both the original Blood Omen and Soul Reaver is both of those games offered up the openness to explore Nosgoth as it is, but not to the overdone extent of modern games. A modern game would take the world of Blood Omen, or Soul Reaver, and just draw it out to what they think a modern console is capable of and it would just be too bloated. It's Legacy of Kain, not Elden Ring or some Assaasin's Creed clone. Idk, there's just quite a lot about the LoK series that really makes it what it is, and, blasphemous as this may be to say, but the only two games to really cement the formula that made those games great were Blood Omen and Soul Reaver. Granted, parts of Blood Omen feel a bit rushed towards the end, when you have the rest of the Circle basically throw themselves at you in the final act, and the combat was minimal. But, on that topic, you're a fricking vampire. You've got an edge on humans, you don't necessarily need some martial arts flourishes to kill your enemies, not when you have various swords, a pair of axes, and a plethora of items that will literally vaporize your adversaries. And, Soul Reaver, the biggest thing with Soul Reaver was the repeat of block puzzles. Every other puzzle that involved the switching between realms was clever. The combat, again, minimalist, but from a different direction. Instead of humans, you're fighting other vampires, and you're a spectral wraith. You can't take much damage without dissolving into nothing, and you're not feasibly powerful enough to rip apart creatures that can heal almost instantaneously from virtually every wound. Immolation, impalement, water, or sunlight do the job of killing. The combat serves its purpose. I don't see either a modern sequel working the way it should without becoming some lesser clone of a given formula, nor do I see a remake doing justice to the originals for the same reason, in addition to not having the original cast and writers.
Soul Reaver multiplayer, what an awful idea and the new character looked terrible compared to Raziel. I'd rather see a good remake of SR 1-3 rather than a new game. Defiance put a great ending to the series, no need for more unless it is another Kain game.
I agree, it's not, but it could have been if not for Square's interference. Climax wanted to make a classic LoK game with Kain and Raziel, and not the Arkham Creed it would have ended up being if finished

You are probably young or don't care for what made the games what they are
It does actually have lore about Raziel and Kain in Dead Sun. But people wrote it off without seeing the full game.
dude!! I can't wait to play this again.. I loved these games ❤❤ I am so excited for this to come out 😁 thx for the vid man 👍
SR remaster will be a great comeback!!
Great video. Played very little of Soul Reaver but definitely looking forward to the remaster.
Me too! I would have just loved if it included BO1 as well though
We cant have a Soul Reaver sequel because Raziel is gone. We can however have a Legacy of Kain sequel because Kain's adventures at the end of Defiance have just begun. He still has a story to tell.
Agreed, but how I would love to have prequel with Raziel looking like he did in the intro of SR1!
@@LucianTheWorldGamer that would be amazing.
@@LucianTheWorldGamer also a remake of Blood Omen 1 will be the greatest thing ever!
I honestly hope that following the upcoming remasters we'll get an announcement of a remake or true sequel. This series needs to return its one of the greatest and needs to return.
A proper remake would be awesome, but I needed the remaster first...
Aside from the Online aspect, I actually like the look of Dead Sun!
I think the art design was awesome!
@@viktor-rp7xl At the expense of not doing what made Blood Omen popular?
@@AngryAtlantean no. the only thing to change is to expand the world a little more or make some sort of attempt to follow up on it. Because that was their end, where they became a niche franchise and the other a billion dollar companies, when i say expand the lore, is characters like vorador, the doll maker or how the king of willendorf rallied to battle, blood fountains, when the demons would appear. We need that back some suttle references to hylden maybe. Nothing shoe horned in just make it feel natural to add more stuff eventually
Man the 90s were an amazing time.
i just noticed that protag in dead sun looks like the protag from murdered soulsuspect which is a square enix game too
Man... now I can't unsee it!!
This is a great video mate. Had no idea this Game even existed and I couldn't help but laugh at the stock pictures, showing Squares demands 🤣
Thanks a million bud!! Yes, Square was acting very much like EA... zero respect for anything lol
I really hope they will keep the original ost. That was a masterpiece
Me too, it's iconic!
For me personally, if they do actually release it, it could be the best way to make people notice the series, the original LOK series
I agree, the series needs to make a real comeback!
Man this always kills me , dead sun looked sooo promising , let's hope this franchise is revisited at some point , other then just remasters
You are one of the few that thinks that Dead Sun was promising, and I agree with you!!
I hope that we get more. I would of loved to have seen more of kain loved blood omens 2.
I loved them ALL!! I would have loved a collection that included them all instead of just SR1 and 2
Blood omen and soul reaver from ps1 have an special place for me but my all time favorite is Defiance
I think Defiance's story was the best, but gameplay-wise SR1 and 2 are my favourites!
And i'm happy about it. It looked bad. Though i wish we got the other legacy of Kain game we never got. Dark Prophecy.
Dark Prophecy would have been the perfect continuation for Defiance, for sure
I would have taken Blood Omen 1 & 2 remaster because I loved Kain's character. But this is only because I never got the chance to play Soul Reaver as it was. When I tried years ago on Steam it just wouldn't work and bugged out. PC controls sucked and got stuck on one part and soft locked. I am excited to play this and glad it is not a $60 cash grab. I think I saw it was $30? Not too bad in a sense.
100% agreed, I'm glad you will enjoy SR now in its best form!
As long as one person remembers legacy of kain we are legion
Vae Victis!
This was not a game. This and that insanity War for Nosgoth were nothing more than corporate's greed that prayed on naïve and unwary.
It's baffling that someone would actually STILL talk about them, and bring them up every now and then. But then again, forethought and foresight are not everyone's forte.
It's just that Climax wanted to make a classic LoK game with Kain and Raziel, and not the Arkham Creed it would have ended up being if finished
It's funny as in the game we hear about tales of Raziel and Kain.
Sometimes I feel open-minded people are low in numbers...
Great video!
Thanks so much!
Most Soul Reaver fans are grateful we didn't get Dead Sun.
Hard to disagree, I just wish this project was handled better
I wish we would have gotten the sequel to Defiance. Hopefully we get a remake of Defiance
I think Defiance will come as a PS2 classic for sure...
I think the idea of getting a Blood Omen 1 remake is incredibly slim. But an audiobook with the VAs would be awesome
I would love both of those options!
Yes, and it even predates Shadow of Mordor!
I know, this could have been a spin off at best, but still something!
Awesome video, Lucian! I have never played a Legacy of Kain game but this one looked interesting. Not to be, I guess.
Thanks so much for all your support! By the way, if you wish to jump in on the series, try with the first two games, Blood Omen and Soul Reaver 1. They are both great for very different reasons
@@LucianTheWorldGamer Sounds good. I will definitely look into playing those!
Loved defiance. Wish the series continued
Me too, the potential for a proper sequel was all there!!
Agreed, SR1 must have been a shock for BO1 fans!
It was rough, I wish Square didn't interfere with its silly impositions, like not having Kain and Raziel...
@@LucianTheWorldGamer I guess that new owner meant brand new games with new characters, new stories etc. Even for the well established ones.
Well, that's the excuse that Square used to cancel the project anyway... don't shoot the messenger!
Well, in times of conflicts you would say anything about the enemies... even that they can't get it up!
Would actually give money to them as a start up to get this continue
Same!
DEAD SUN....They dropped the story but the gameplay and UI for this game eventually became SHADOW OF WAR.
I'm pretty sure it inspired Shadow of War!
The loading time for blood omen was💀💀💀
It was, wasn't it? Maybe with the PS5 release it will be cut down
Really happy we didn't get dead sun
I think if Square didn't mishandle the project, it could have been something good!
I wanted dead son more than anything dude.
I wish it would leak online, please
If old CoD builds can leak? This can too
Right?? I would love to try it for myself too
If no one want legacy of kain dead sun then i would gladly buy it with a large grin
Me too, I'm glad somebody's of the same opinion!
@@LucianTheWorldGamer They should have let the OG devs cook the magic midnight chocolate without interference ! :p
I see your point, but the Arkham Creed thing was Square's interference. Climax wanted to make a classic LoK game with Kain and Raziel
@@LucianTheWorldGamer The gameplay style I'd be fine with, since the mechanics were tried and tested. The story presentation is the deciding factor for me.
there was a pvp game called nosgoth that i loved playing but they shutdown the servers
It wasn't bad, but didn't last long...
They also have a new game coming out soon the dead shall rise 😝 so we get a remake and a new story and a new character for Kain and Razel
I thought dead shall rise was just a comic book!
People don’t know what “legacy” means and it shows
Hard to disagree!!
I see your point, but at the same time, maybe a prequel story could still fit. I think there was still potential in Raziel and Kain
I would love to see a new LoK Game. But to be honest it will never happen. It was my absolute most favorite game. But todays gamers are more focused on Action. I dont think that a Storydriven series like LoK would work today. Hopefully we get a Blood Omen 1-2 and defiance remaster too. But
It's not gonna be the same as before, that's for sure, as you said, the market has changed...
The way I see it, all the negatives were mainly Square's faults, as Climax wanted to do a proper LoK game...
I'm glad the dead sun project got canceled. It was legacy of kain in name only. We definitely dodged a bullet with that train wreck. I think with legacy of kain getting attention. We'll eventually get a new game that will be better than Dead Sun.
I'm sure it will be better than Dead Sun, because of Square that project never stood a chance...
I think this would be so good They gave us raziel without kain for the most part They could have they could have made the IP so massive What's the world of nosgoth
If only this project was given a chance...
Why not get a whole new remake? I'll tell you why....HISTORY ABHORS A PARADOX!!!
Thank God it was cancelled. It would completely destroy the franchise.
I think that if this project was handled better it could have been something good!
It didnt have kain in it did it?
No, it didn't, and I wish it did! That's Square's fault though
I don't think any game since has match LOK for voice acting and dialogue.
Hard to disagree, those games were on top of everything else
Is there such thing as free will? Is destiny predetermined? Maybe the wheel of fate chose to have it go down that way, and here we are in late 2024 and the Remasters are announced. Vae Victis!!!
Vae Victis!!
YOU WILL HAVE THE BLOOD YOU HUNGER FOR.....
And we got the remaster we hunger for!!
Nosgoth was cool imo
yeah i just appreciated it for what it was not a LOK game. game-play wise it had enough depth to be interesting and the skill ceiling was quite high for humans at least
RAYZEEL!
KAAAAAIN!
The devs wanted to do a proper LoK, it was Square's interference that ruined everything!
good
nosgoth is still alive btw.
And I'm happy we didn't😂
I wish Square didn't interference and force Climax to make it the Arkham Creed shown on video. Climax wanted to make the game about Raziel and Kain
Жаль что эту игру отменили. А судя по комментариям люди не любят перемены.
My thoughts exactly...
Dark Sun looked like crap and nobody can change my mind.
It didn't even look like a Legacy of Kain game. Pass.
Give us The Dark Prophecy sequel we have heard so much about.
Dark Prophecy would have been awesome. But Dead Sun had potential had it been handled better, without Square's interference
Don’t get too excited about the remakes. Even Soul Reaver had been infected with DEI. The trailer already shows a glyph statue that was altered to look gender ambiguous. Who knows what those sickos did to the murals of the ancient vampires.
You got a point there... now I'm afraid
Sometimes I feel it's easier to reject things for the sake of it...

When I saw the leaked footage I was shocked what they did to this series. Looked absolutly bad and the VA was mid at best with worse writing. I am so glad they canceled the game. Nothing to do with LoK.
I see an open world with flying mechanic would have fit well with the series
It wasn't Legacy of Kain.
I agree, it wasn't. Climax wanted to make a classic LoK game with Kain and Raziel, and not the Arkham Creed it would have ended up being if finished
Best game EVER
SR certainly is!
@@LucianTheWorldGamer Great content
For now I'm just glad we are getting the remasters, even though I would have included BO1 in the bundle
Soul Reaver sequel no body ask for.
I agree, but at the same time a proper Soul Reaver 3 with modern technology could be awesome! Maybe not even a sequel, more of a mid-quel or something
Soul Reaver multiplayer, what an awful idea and the new character looked terrible compared to Raziel. I'd rather see a good remake of SR 1-3 rather than a new game. Defiance put a great ending to the series, no need for more unless it is another Kain game.
Agreed, but there's plenty of options for prequels and mid-quels!
This is not a Legacy of Kain. Have a good day.
I agree, it's not, but it could have been if not for Square's interference. Climax wanted to make a classic LoK game with Kain and Raziel, and not the Arkham Creed it would have ended up being if finished
thank god we didn't get this. it woud be an insult to the legacy of kain
At the same time I can´t help but wonder how things would have gone without the interference from Square...
well thats your opinion , Lok fans hate this shitty game and thank god it got canceled
well I know that's my opinion, that's what I said at the end of the video: "this is just one guy's opinion on the internet"! But while I see where your opinion comes from, I also think fans have been overly harsh with it

I didn't play this video because I had a problem with the title. You said the soul reaver sequel that got out? First of all, they made a part one and a part two, and their remastered it for the playstation network in december tenth. The dead sun game that you're talking about, wasn't a sequel? It was a mockery created by a company who bought the rights. Just to recreate a classic with a completely different storyline, and if you actually played this game that was available, there's a part in this game, what they make fun of the original legacy at Kain storyline. I'm not feeling this game dead sun. That game could go on the trash.🗑🗑🗑🗑😀
I see what you mean. But technically Dead Sun would come after Soul Reaver, so that makes it a sequel in a sense
@LucianTheWorldGamer ?? Nahhhh you'll see December 10th.
Dead Sun looked like such a great game. Maybe it might see the light of day with Crystal Dynamics back?
I'm glad somebody could see the potential in this game!!

I know it isn't, but it could have been a nice expanded mythology if handled better...
