A step toward games becoming a movie and walking simulator experience. The walking and talking forced dialogue scenes that replaced traditional cutscenes also was a big step down, this made everything much more ordinary and lazy, despite growing budgets to deliver it

Just got done bashing my head repeatedly against a wall over simply trying to get a single f-ing ending... Hours upon hours, and STILL I could not get the goddamned thing to trigger... Finally said F**K it and deleted the piece of garbage. I absolutely loved the first game. This utter travesty of a sequel has got to be the biggest step back from an original release I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing. The devs took the admittedly existing issues of the first game and somehow managed tripple their efforts in the WRONG direction. We've all heard of quality of life improvements, but is quality of life impairment a thing? If not before, there is now...

Largely from the more frequent interactions, but the first one had the sense that the other girls were actually in the school, this one felt like you were alone. I finished the whole thing and still barely get what the plot was, not helped by the very few cutscenes that showed you were actually playing as someone else for the past hour - despite that, I always defaulted back to thinking you were playing as the male character the whole time because there is such little reason to ever not think that. The most annoying thing was probably how convoluted it was to get to specific rooms, as certain doors to get access to the 3rd or 4th floor kept changing which were locked, so you'd have to walk all the way to the other side of the school and figure out the perfect maze to complete a task that would've taken 2 minutes. Also, I'm probably alone in this, but that cutaway editing everyone does to *clip of unrelated media of vaguely related quote* seems like a substitution for not having any of your own humor to add, so I find it very unnecessary.

Nightmare Creatures 2 is the worst horror game sequel imo. White Day 2 is meh, but not awful.

There is also the fact that doors close on their own after a while (including sliding doors, which makes no sense) and this can cause confusion when hiding from the pursuers since you might mistaken the door sounds for the pursuer opening/closing them. This also makes keeping up where you've been alot harder since the doors close automatically, combine that with the fact the map doesn't even mark areas that you already been to and you get a confusing mess of a gameplay loop. Also one of my strategies when playing the original was to open all of the bathroom stalls to make it easier for me to enter them while being pursued and now with them closing automaticaly after a while, it makes things needlessly more clunky (especially with how opening doors seems to be a hassle due to how poorly implemented the mechanics are.

I was excited to play it but I'm really disappointed with it. No trophies, only for the endings, and the damn enemies are omnipresent like the first game. Smh.

i don'tlike how there is no korean language gameplay, everybody plys with the cringy dubs on and it just ruin watching it.

Now with the Ultimate edition, which uses the Saturn 4mb RAM cart, transparencies have been restored & performance improved. Also it is fully translated! The map is fixed and can be accessed outside of the inventory. Also in teleport rooms they added writing above the portal to say where they are! It's absolutely amazing.

I doubt it. They butchered the remasters and did not care to fix them. The voices were appalling, and the replacement sounds were weak. The the the visual effects were alps poor. It was nothing more than a lazy cash grab and they did nothing to put it right. It's not hard to extract the original voices and sounds and master them again. They chose not to do it, they chose.

There’s so much wrong with the second game like the serious lack of actual ghosts to find. They could have still added the original ones for fans but instead there’s only 2 that I can think of in the first area. The girl in the locker and the woman with a cut face but that’s it! Plus the guards are a complete ball ache and ruin the games flow. If they ever make a third I hope they ditch the guards, improve the voice acting but also add many more ghosts to find. In fact, just make it a ghost hunting game instead.

Idk what happened for my playthrough but I solved the photography photo early and it immediately played a cutscene that was just very out of place like it was meant for later cause I was still trying to find my "friend" but they acted like they already met up and saw there was some shit going on in the school already and I haven't seen any enemies at all but they make noises like their opening doors and such but nothings around. Might have glitches my game

I dont know how they can go backwards from the first game having working mirrors, stuff outside the windows, can see your body, a quick turn button, enemy detection eye, knowing what rooms you have been in on the map to having none of that

I'm super impressed with how good Capcom made Resident Evil Revelations look and run on the 3DS, and then whatever the exact opposite of super impressed is with how much Capcom soiled themselves porting Resident Evil Revelations 2 to the Vita, especially considering how good they were at porting other games to the Vita.

To be honest I one of white day fans and I am agree white day 2 is bad, It's my fault thou when this game Released I have hight expectation . Anyway I have fun fact and opinion: 1. The reason white day 2 is dark bcs they want white day 2 like original white day "The School" But it's made me confused WD 2 happen oneday after WD 1 but the school look like left a years or more it's doesn't make any sense the school like a mess Except they used White day Swan song as game . 2. Rootnstudio facing lot backlash and drama from WD Korean fans and Rootnstudio do blunder I forgot what they do but it's made Korean fans more hate/bully them. 3. Lot of cutesçene is cut with unknown reason, some of important cutesçene like Sung tae talk to Jihyun, Jihyun talk with Jimin, Sung tae talk with Yuri, and Jimin talk to Seoyeong I heard this from Korean discussions. 4. There is no Explaination what happen after WD 1 like what happen with Hee-min or so young , I thought Episode 3 Jimin route gonna bring WD 1 characters back but we got none . 5. There is no info about Rootnstudio I am curious who are they? What they relation with Sonnori?, are they buy White day license to made this game or Rootnstudio is one off Sonnori studio to develop WD 2 I don't know. I feel White day 2 more like brand new game than a sequel lot of lore from WD 1 is crash with WD 2 lore and their story is boring the only character story I like is Kang Seoyeong route, the weird one they have different dialogue at PC and PS5 I bit surprised and want know more but need wait someone do gameplay at youtube.

my teenage daughter is a big fan of the first white day. it was one of her favorite console game. so ive pre ordered the physical version, and it is on the way. she is so hyped right now. guess i will have to tell her to lower her expectation😢 i heard that thers none of the og white day member left in sonori right now.

The gloomy atmosphere of this game harkens back to the dark atmosphere of the original 2001 White Day, I like that. The 2017 remake lost the dark ambience due to a cartoonish art style. I'll pick this one up eventually because I love these games! If you haven't played the 2001 game, you should.

I beat this one but my disc is scratched (It's the way I received it). So I had to skip a cut scene at the end of the first disc. But I eventually did get to the end, but I had to cheat to get more health for the final boss. LOL

I played through Book of Memories with a buddy back when I had my vita, it was a good time, though not very Silent Hillish

It sounds like there was development issues, as a lot of important features and polish seem to be missing. Great Review. Very fair and honest. The first Game sounds like the better of the 2 but 2 can still be enjoyed : )

Excellent video and editing! I can definitely see the great work put into making this! I loved D2 and Illbleed and Code Veronica (though this last one not 'true') are amazing! Carrier and Blue Stinger are great games as well, definitely worth playing.
