I appreciate you putting these videos up. I am seriously considering a career in HVAC, and have been trying to get as much info about it as possible. I am also here in Arizona so i am actually curious which school you are going to. Thanks again and keep up the good work.
I’m 43 and laid off because of COVID but thinking of going to HVAC school and program cost is 20k. Am I too old already or is it even worth it.Please let me know and thanks for your video.God Bless
Go with the Largest company in the state of Arizona. Go into warranty side, I know it has a bad reputation, but you’ll definitely love it. Doing warranty work, it’s hourly and not commission. That company that you are waiting a background check, it’s not bad, but the bigger company can offer a lot more. And you’ll love it. I made that decision and don’t regret it one bit.
Ya prob with that is you need to be very efficient at what your doing and your call back rate needs to be minimal or you wont last long theres not very much money in warranty work some the company you work for is going to need you to be on top of shit. So I would suggest going to a bigger company that will pretty much have him doing nothing but maintenance until you've been, seen what's out there and common problems you'll run into. If you cant diagnose a system in less then 10-15min from showing up the company u work for will struggle with keeping u employed.
I suggest getting 4port manifold either brand, ur going to need a turbo torch I wouldnt use map for brazing. Get a digital psychomotor, and theirs so much more bust to start most companies will supply your torches, vaccum pump, recovery machine. But invest in tool as much as possible I have prob close to 8k in tools just in my van alone. Good luck brotha.
Hope the new job is working out. Update us when you can

You learn a lot going into warranty since every call is a issue. No pressure to sell. But just go to a no cool or no heat and do your job
