It was never the ‘chasing the fame’ part of Alan that made him funny, it was the lampooning of Middle England in this series and prior. I see elements of my dad, friends, work colleagues, and myself in Partridge, and that’s the genius of the comedy, he’s more relatable than we’d admit too. I’m 49 next month, so I’m Alan’s age in this series, but I refuse to buy The Mail, and I’ll never have my glasses on a chain 😉

As an American i didn’t know who Gary Wilmot was when i first saw this but I still laughed because you could imagine exactly the kind of c-list celebrity that Alan would be attending the wedding of, and you look them up and it’s exactly what you expected..

Didn't venture out of the room. But made some shapes in front of the mirror. (And yes. I checked that the curtain could be reattached)
