This is a bit more annoying to set up than the Crystal Shard dupe glitch, since that works in singleplayer (see th-cam.com/video/5KkAQEdNTfE/w-d-xo.html ), but yields much, much more money. Also, you can dupe fountains and Aether Monoliths in pre-Hardmode while Crystal Shards are locked to Hardmode.
Still, this is a glitch, abuse it at your own discretion.

Verrry interesting! Btw, if you do another glitches episode please remember to mention the crystal+tortch glitch. That one is also realy good, and you don't even need an auto clicker, because it dupes crystals at the ingame tick-rate. Which is extremely fast.
(EDIT) PS. If you don't know what this one is, just put a crystal on the right block of a 2 space gap between blocks and try to add a torch to the left gap. Its incredibly easy and can be done at the very start of hardmode. Can't remember if gems still work, but I'm pretty sure they patched gems.
Never seen this glitch before as I started playing terraria right as 1.4 came out, massive thanks to Terrasteel for pointing this out for me! love the videos, watched the entire obscure knowledge series, and as a fellow wiki restater for my friends I thank you again for expanding my terraria knowledge!
I would actually love to see you cover more glitches. It's interesting to see what can go wrong in this game, as we've seen a *lot* of what can go right.
Terrasteel: how much money do you want?
Me: yes
The setup that was used for the 1.3 item frame dupe glitch (with the work bench and the metal bars) also works to make the floating monolith, so you don't even need to defeat Skeletron to use this. You can just get an Aether Monolith and do the setup for infinite money pre-boss.
I'll definitely use this next playthrough, I've built money farms before but building them so many times gets tedious, having a simple way to get money especially in modded is very nice to have

There are so many exploits and bugs whose existence is solely owed to multiplayer being jank as hell in this game. I've said this before, but Terraria's multiplayer is held together by duct tape, crazy glue, bubble gum, and good intentions.

This glitch feels very similar to quasi-connectivity with pistons in Minecraft. Something about the double-stacking feels so on-brand for anything tile-based to freak out.

If you use void monoliths and toss them in shimmer, you can get infinite luminite.
finally a fun way to use platinum coin ammos for the Coin Gun.
You don't even need the second teleporter, at least for me, but make sure you break the teleporter with the smart option which you can toggle with ctrl

Just tested it. Yes, but if you're doing it for money its more efficient to just sell it. Also 20 solar monoliths is 300 solar fragments.

How much money is too much money?
I usually use like 20-50 plat a run if a reforge everything. If you use coin gun though, that might go up to 2k+ plat however.

Don’t know if it still works but I always used the chest glitch to get a crazy amount of chests to sell. It’s a bit more complicated to set up but you can do it almost immediately. Just need a mechanic and you can get tons of money very quickly

This used to work but with item frames which let you pretty much dupe everything
U can probably triple these speeds. In your settings turn you’re frame thing from “ ON/SUBTLE “ To “OFF” you’ll have over 60 FPS which should make all ticks in the game WAYYYYYY faster.!!:))))
That doesn’t increase tickrate, just the speed of some animations.

Sadly, this glitch does not work on mobile, similar to the philosophers stone glitch. The monolith will float in mid-air like on computer, but you are able to toggle it on and off without it breaking or duplicating. (Similar results occur with the philosophers stone glitch)
That's why there's another money glitch for mobile, I'll give the link to it once I find the tutorial
the philosopher's stone does work on mobile, only thing is that some setup methods do not, like the single instance one

Is the aether pre-hardmode now? I know you no longer have to defeat Moonlord, but I thought it was still only available in hardmode
It's technically available from the moment you start your world, you just have to be able to find it and access it
Im not sure, but wouldnt it be more profitable if you throw the void or lunar monoliths into shimmer?
And not just that, but you can then also use them as luminite to craft things without relighting moonlord
according to another comment, the fragments sell for less (oddly) but you can absolutely have unlimited fragments

Hello I need some advice. I am playing on mobile I don't know why mine doesn't work. I used the same method "multiplayer world, 2teleporter and one monolith" Every time I tap on it. It doesn't work

There's also another way which use the crystal that in underground Hallowed, just using the crystal, a block and a platform. You can find the full explanation in terraria slime video

Yes, I think you can do it with sand on top of tables. But you’d need two sets of tables with sand, and then more sand with your desired furniture on top.

I cant get this to work, has it been patched or is it not possible on console? I can get the monolith to float but when I interact with it it doesnt dupe, it just does what moniliths normally do and change the background

at certain point, money in terraria becomes utterly worthless, It's balanced because for that effort you could just
get that money normally by running around and clicking your mouse.
