Goodness, just noticed that a few people gave a thumbs down? Who would give Katie a thumbs down - she's probably one of the nicest and most calming artists to watch on TH-cam? Some people need to show more kindness and gratitude towards the artists that make this content for us to enjoy.
Most likely their end results weren’t good, and they couldn’t take responsibility? Who knows? People can be so rude and ungrateful. I love Katie’s demeanor and style. She is my fav. And that makeup is amazing, by the way. ❤️❤️
This is a perfect beginner video for folks like my brother who has just picked up painting. Thank you, Katie. I know Skillshare sponsored this video, but if you could offer more beginner videos on things like shading, value, brush stroke techniques, and things of that nature, I’m sure it would be a huge help. You’re a great teacher. 🙂
My mentally disabled daughter, at 49 yrs old, has just begun to paint. In her words in re your lessons for beginners, "I think they're great!" We like painting seascapes and bright sunny skies. Thanks you
Thanks for the blending tip! I also like that you aren’t as obsessive over things being “perfect” bc I am struggling with that. It’s honestly one of the biggest reasons why I either don’t paint at all or don’t finish a painting.
I'm starting to paint, and don't really have the money, and I literally just have blue, red, yellow, white and black. I'm so grateful for this video, thank you so much ❤️❤️
Julia, when I was a beginner, I used canvas paper, and only black and white acrylic paint at first. Then I bought red, blue and yellow tubes of paint, but it was honestly a great move to use canvas paper and paint in black and white initially, because I wasn't worried about messing up/ "wasting" a canvas! Then when I felt more confident, I used canvas panels, and now after several years, I'm confidently using canvases freely! The point is to have a progression and that will keep you from worrying too much about wasting art supplies! Fear is powerful and can keep you from painting, so try to cut out the fear and have fun!! ❤️❤️
@@artbydrbee I so agree with that once I start to worry and script i louse interest i like painting in black and white get a better picture some times same when pencils
@@milels6917 👏👏👏 Nice job! Sometimes when I was a beginner, I would just draw for a bit first, with graphite or even ball point pens, then get to some painting.. start small and take baby steps.. otherwise it can be very overwhelming! Most importantly, don't give up! You can always glaze colours over the top of the black-and-white "practice" paintings later on ❤️❤️ Just keep going, everyone 🤗🤗🤗🤗
Thanks Katie not painted for a while as my husbands ill health has taken my time but will try get back into painting again you’re so inspirational love all your videos 🥰
Thanks so much for spending your time w us. I just love how Mom Nature uses her sky as a canvas to paint all her lovely colors on. I live by Lake Ontario (in Sandy Pond NY) & it continually amazes as well as inspires me...when I see the colors that have been chosen that day...nite... morning...as you were doing your explaining layers on this I kept looking out at the clouds right now...altho they are a bunch of grays, whites & a touch of yellows...flat on the bottom & big billowing cotton balls on top...❤🌫
Hiii I'm not new to painting but I'm from the Caribbean and Elsa is stressing me out so I wanna try and paint with only these colors to get my mind off things💃😁
Umm, I am on my art break of 2 weeks cuz my exams are coming up, and maybe it would help me through my artblock if I rest my mind a bit for creative ideas. Can't wait to try this 😍
LOVE your tutorials and class. I really need an amaryllis tutorial in acrylics. I just can't get that one and want it for a painting with roses for my sister in law
Haven't paint for 1,5 week.. this video makes me so happy!!! I'd like to see a video/tutorial on how you prepare before you paint (for example do you use gesso on your canvases,...) or where to buy things. I'd also like a tutorial on how to draw a sunflower in acrylic or stags (acrylic). I know your stags are more intuïtive, but maybe which colors you'd use, tips and tricks for stags (ot any other animals!) Lovely video again! ❤
Thanks for this tutorial, this was great!! I was going so well but I should have stopped before the palette knife :( going to try again another time :)
Hii Katie!! Thank you so much for this video. I have been struggling to paint clouds lately! This video really helps!💗💗Please make another tutorial on how to paint clouds with watercolour.❤️
Wow! This painting is so beautiful. I love watching you paint. I'm going to guess that you may have had a window open because I enjoyed listening to the birds while you were painting.
Thanks I have stoped painting my blending is rubbish and just give up I tried yesterday gave up and today your blog came up so I’m giving it another try.the spray bottle you are my painting Angel
This was tough! Overall my colors were too dark and too purple. I couldn’t get the rosy tones here. But hey, I’m a beginner and this was my second cloud tutorial. I need more practice. ❤️❤️
hiii, I'm amazed with your painting and I wanna use it for my school project but is that a impressionisme painting? Because I choose impressionisme genre, thank youu
Hi everyone, I really like Katies Tutorials. I am on the lookout for some more artist on youtube, that actually make good tutorials. Has anyone got any suggestions? I am very much so a beginner in painting (acrylics). Greetings Elli Xxx
Kate Jobling is an amazing artist, cant deny that, however the Acrylic painting tutorials that she makes and marks as "Easy for beginners" are far from easy. She doesnt always describe the brushes shes using and what each brush does, same with the paint and painting strokes. If she would elaborate a bit more , her videos would be easier to follow.

I'd like to see a video tutorial on rainy cityscapes with reflections of people or objects or both. Thanks

@@bethmulligan2588 I will! Thank you so much for the recommendation! I'm still new to the painting part of TH-cam, but I'm loving the community!

Pls make video Advance oil painting techniques
Katie, Why are you using the pallet knife for the clouds?

I’m doing clouds in gouache.do you use gouache anymore..thank you.love ya channel..
Beautiful! Can’t wait to give it a try tmrw. But you didn’t link the reference photo in the description box!
I found it in the 3rd paragraph of the description 🤗
Hi Katie
Can you please tell the dimensions of the canvas used.
Until you reached up to adjust the camera, I thought you kept looking at the ceiling for what might be a water leak. :)
روعه beautifull sensation
Is this an example of Impressionism?
Question: Do you ever feel you’ve used too many brushstrokes? If so, what do you recommend to repair that?
How about a video thats all about shading
😲🥰❤️
curious?? why did you keep looking up during this tutorial??
My camera 😄
Can we return the Art Therapy tutorial videos please?
My attempt at this painting looked fantastic until I tried to add the clouds, then I ruined it lol, got to start over.
Pretty lipstick……
