you have just gifted me with half an hour of relaxed escapism, thank you. Liked and subscribed, keep up the great work.

Arts really helps me to relax too. My drawing may not get many likes. But it me, expressing myself. The connection between lines, the filling in of colors, make me relax. Everyone should do painting or drawing.. skills not so vital skills can be trained.. arts really can relax our self. The ability to transfer what in your mind to paper is great, the process. After you finished painting or drawing, hang them up, or magnet to the fridge. If you draw or paint enough, can also publish as a book, to encourage yourself and others. I published a book of my writing, when i feel down, i just pick it up and read.. wow i can write! Self discovery moments.

Thank you so much. I rarely comment on anything but feel compelled to say you are helping me so much. Last fall I lost both my parents. Then a dear friend (Jon Thocker) perished in an airplane crash. We are the same age (60 at the time) And flew together often. I am still in disbelief. I have been racked w loss and grief. Your painting helps me. Thank you again. I am going to get some supplies and start to paint again.

I love this tutorial, keep it loose, don't focus on the detail, just have fun. With me, its the focus on the detail in life and worrying about it that perpetuates the overwhelming feelings. This style of loose painting is great, as long as the values makes sense, paint the sky pink and the mountains blue. Take a holiday from worry.

So I just have to say that this video was right on time. I’ve been having a pretty stressful week, and decompressing has been incredibly difficult. I know what I’m doing today. Thank you so much Katie for allowing us to come into your studio and paint with you. This series of painting 🖼 tutorials you are doing is amazing, and will speak to many of us out there who struggle with the dealings of stress, anxiety, depression, loneliness, anger, etc. Something we can do and find a bit of joy and peace in to help us unwind. For me it’s kneeling in prayer to my Lord Jesus and painting. Again, thank you so much. Blessings.

Just found you Katie, thank you, life saver… I have always wanted to paint but was told by an art teacher at junior high that I hadn’t got an artistic bone in my body and to forget even trying.this past year, like so many I hear, depression has been bad and I struggled even to go outside. I happened to see one of your tutorials and I suddenly got my artistic desires back. I’ve tried five of your tutorials Katie and I’m loving it. My family tell me I can paint and creat, not too confident yet though and prefer to follow your wonderfully constructed sessions. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. Sue ❤️

Midway through I literally threw it in the trash, my wife reminded me this was for stress relief so I picked it back up and finished. Mine was different from Katie's but in the end it looked great. ever since then I've gotten a lot of canvases and paint and have learned not to treat them as so precious, if i mess up so what... even Voka says sometimes he starts over. I gave myself permission to experiment without pressure. now i do paint alongs with several artists and i always pick up some techniques. When paint my own creations all those lessons shine through. I think Katie makes impressionism so approachable. She's a great teacher. And TH-cam is so awesome for learning from masters like her.

I agree... I just LOVE Mountain & Lake landscapes ... they're my absolute favorite to paint along with pine trees - all with snow & woodland wildlife.. (& ironically, I live a few miles from the ocean - tho I like painting beach scenes, too). Thanks so much for explaining each technique, colors & blends used. It makes it a lot easier to understand as I'm learning/teaching myself - with such professionally taped videos, too... the views help! :)

Watching this in the early hours Katie as I couldn’t sleep. I want to thank you for a beautifully relaxing/calming tutorial video. I’m very much a beginner and clueless too, but tonight that wasn’t the point for me. I simply enjoyed the peace you brought to my being. I too love the mountains and lakes... or in my case, lochs as I’m Scottish. Have you ever painted a Scottish scene when the heather is in full bloom? I think you could produce something very special with our scenery and light. Thanks for relaxing me - now to sleep...❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I love and really appreciate how honest you are - about mental health in general but also how much painting and colours can help. For me, it is painting seascapes that help boost my mood - the blues and greens. I find nothing is as helpful as that (except walking the dog in the beautiful countryside) and therefore I paint lots of the same thing ie. sea, water, waves & clouds etc.
I find each of your videos teach me something new - I use acrylics so am really enjoying your acrylic tutorials. I gained a lot of insight about packaging up completed (sold) works, from your video on that subject. I would love to know what you suggest should be done to store paintings that are complete and ready for sale, but you don’t have enough space to have them all hanging on the wall 🙂. To protect the paint surface, do they need to be wrapped (what in?) and stored anywhere special? Cool room, warm room etc? Would very much appreciate your advice and thoughts on this. Keep up the excellent work, really enjoy seeing your videos each week. Thank you 😊

You’re so talented. I had so much fun watching this and painting. I ended up getting so lost into painting and just took flight in it if that makes any sense. I love your style ❤️❤️

New subscriber, so happy I found you! So glad your stuff isn't realism. It looks so great! Thank you for the full tutorials. It rly helps to see your process and hear your thought process. Also just to see how you handle the brush to get the different strokes is beneficial. I absolutely love this series!!!! Are you planning to add more to the series?
