Awesome cleaner, an old long handle grill cleaner with a hard brush, scrubber, blade & effort got the residuals of an anti-slip rug off of my tile floor in less than a half hour.
I saturated the impacted area with Awesome cleaner, worked it in with the brush part, added more, let it sit for about 3 minutes because I was impatient, used the blade to slowly scrape the area until the residual rug pieces loosed. I threw a puppy pad over the mess, pressed it into the mess & wiped it up. I repeated the aforementioned steps until everything came up & then I mopped the floor 4 times to ensure the area was clean & clear.
What a huge relief. I saw a lot of videos talking about this problem. You may never read this comment, but thank you for this video & mentioning Awesome cleaner. It worked & saved the day. I hope it helps your viewers!
By the way, everything I used except for the puppy pads came from the dollar store!

AWESOME beyond dreams! 3 yrs of private nightmare under kitchen rug with 1/8" thick rug backing impossible to remove from tile. EVERY time I stepped on new rug covering it made me cringe. Liberally poured over it...agitated w/broom...overnight soak....💯 lifted with squeegee on back of broom! 🥳🥳

This stuff works great for removal of VCT glue that has oozed up in the seams of VCT flooring. Just a little bit, then rub with an old toothbrush and lightly scrape. Also works pretty well on scuff marks on VCT. Many thanks for posting this product for glue removals.

I had this problem from an area rug on floor in an RV. I found another video that recommended Denatured Alcohol, and it worked really well too, but ironically, I had a bottle of that stuff just feet away from me while watching that video. I will say the Alcohol worked very well too, but I’m guessing it was more expensive that the stuff you’re using. But I only had a 2 foot by 4 foot area to deal with also. Best Wishes and thanks for sharing!

I used a commercial orange citrus cleaner on a basement floor with sticky back tile over floor paint, then used a floor scrubber with the 3M scrub pads. It not only removed the sticky glue but also most of the paint!!!
Never would have imagined that it would work so well, then mopped the mess up with hot water and down dish soap. Kept mopping until it was clean.

Im definitely gonna try this ALONG WITH my hand held steamer. I used my steamer to help remove wall paper glue from my kitchen and it worked perfectly fine and saved me a lot of time. Thanks for your video 😄.

That’s what I’m doing now. Carpets been down for 21 years. I want to remove the glue and paint.
How do you take it all up after it sits on the cement for a while? Best method for cleaning it up?

@@jeffellis6544 I just took a razor and cut small runner sections about 10 x 2. So I could put them in the trash bags easily. I did about four of those. Then I used a metal ice scraper for concrete to get up the padding that had stuck. I sat on a rolling garage stool while I did that. It was low enough to the ground so, I wasn’t bending over a lot. I swept and vacuumed in sections as I went, this way there wasn’t dirt and dried glue everywhere. We’ve been in this house 16 years and the carpet was here when we moved in. I believe this house was built in the late 80’s. So, you can imagine. 😂

@@jeffellis6544 I did pour the Awesome on the glue strips and let it sit for about 15 minutes. It was came up easily just scraping with the ice scraper.

I asked this in reply to another comment- but once you’ve let it sit on the concrete for a bit- how do you take it up? Mop & water?

If those guys who did that floor knew beforehand that the floor was meant to be temporary then they should've went with a non-residue double sided carpet tape or the sticky flooring tabs. If they were not informed of this, then it's not their fault.

Awesome is great for cleaning, but the fumes are horrible. When I spray the stuff I hold my breath, and then back away for a few minutes to allow the stuff to work, and allow the fumes to dissipate.
