- These colors went together so beautifully! I did a series of paintings a few weeks ago -

and I was blown away by the defined lacing and cells in the center. So I wanted to recreate that design but on a white background. I also changed up the pouring medium, thinking it wouldn’t matter but it might have! While the cells and lacing are certainly present, they’re not as bold, leading me to ask the question.. was it the black paint, the pouring medium or the amount of metallic paint responsible? This painting continues my experiment by using a black background, a light metallic drizzle and the new pouring medium (creative inspirations gloss medium and varnish). I love the way this painting came out! So so beautiful but the crazy lacing is not present, so we can rule out the extremely heavy density of black paint being solely responsible. Stay tuned for my next paintings as I continue my experiment. I look forward to perfecting this technique so I can teach you how to create defined lacing and cells without silicone and using very few products.

I only use the pouring medium in the metallics.

Gorgeous! Also, definitely the creative inspirations PM makes a difference. While yes, the metallics do as well, the creative inspirations is something I have seen a few artists use very well to get bloom type pours with regular acrylic pours. I picked up on this from Molly’s artistry and have had several paintings that I made that people thought I used the bloom recipe for. I have slowly seen other TH-cam artists realize this can happen and use this as well rather than only the standard bloom recipe.
Thank you so much! Pretty cool right, I love the idea of finding other more affordable options. I still use Australian floetrol in some things but other products really do work! I found that the Golden brand gloss medium makes even more defined lacing than the creative inspirations 😳 but I’m just loving these experiments! Hello, this is absolutely gorgeous. I watched all the videos and really love the elegance in your work. I will experiment from my side as well because unfortunately I can not get that medium in France. I do get similar results with Australian Floetrol in my dutch pours though. I will try using different PMs available here in France for the metallic paints. Thank you so much for this video 💞💞💞

@@LaurenMichelleArt I tried it out today using Liquitex Gloss PM, not many cells. Normally my Aussi Floetrol gives plenty in my dutch pours. I have videos with the results on my youtube channel @AslisArty. Next I will try with Jo Sonja Gloss Varnish, I will let you know if the results are better. I am subscribed to you but would really appreciate it if you could also let me know when your trial videos are out (just in case I miss it). Happy Holidays 🥰

Do you use pouring mediums in all of the colours or just the base?

Why do they blow dry the base color instead of stretching it out?
For this technique I use the dryer to get a very thin coverage for the base.

Anyway, im writing because you were wondering how you got such Beautiful lacing and cells without additives. Check out Chase Acrylic painting (i think that's full name) i wish i could send you a picture. Anyway he explains a very scienfific reason for cells. Super interesting. Never did say what caused the cells. Thought that was what you were doing it for.
Hi Cheryl, I wrote a little about it in the description. I changed the variables in the next few paintings after this one. It ended up being the Golden Medium Gloss that made the most defined cells out of any pouring medium I’ve used so far. 😊
