I took up a surf lesson today at 53 year old. Have in mind to master SUP surf as I have been Supping in a lake or non-surfing sea condition. Really inspired after encountering your videos. Just wonder Rick, when did you really start surfing or SUP surfing. Thanks.
Wow, thanks Joao! Don’t grow up too fast, and never think old. I will and I will 🤗 Couple of really fun sessions the past two days. Moving Wednesday but hopefully get another video out by the weekend!
Thanks Neil I have had 2 Wedges' 9'5 x 32.8 at 181 liters - tippiest board I ever had. Sooo much volume and too thick so it felt like log rolling. Surfed well but read below 9'2 x 32 at 167 liters - MUCH better, but I still should have gone shorter The Wedge needs a rider with strong legs with a lot of snap in them to unlock the genius of this shape. Being in the water with Daniel Hughes and watching how his powerful legs give this board almost mythical acceleration out of turns... the board under Danny's feet is epic. BUT... I lack the leg strength to use this board easily. It's fine if you are an intermediate surfer, who is more cruisy, but if you want it to excel, it takes a very advanced rider IMO. The SP25 is very easy to unlock... it provides everything you need to rip small to medium surf The Kanga is truly on autopilot, it is so user friendly and surfs amazingly well in everything.
Just turned 70 and starting to notice a little slowing. We all get one day older each day, so we’re all together on this one. Besides, no one gets out alive
