As someone who's played Gimmick Puppet since 2016, I can't put into words how happy I am they're getting support. As someone who doesn't like FTK combo decks, I'm incredibly sad

@@danielhertz1984 Even then, there's the potential to zone lock your opponent out of constantly putting your monsters to your opponent's Main Monster Zones which the lock also would just make that strategy even worse. If your opponent has no way to get rid of what you put on their board, guess what?!?!
what about Gem-Knights? The support they gave them were also FTKing and it topped a bit I believe
@@arobnugzo6818 kobami didn't want gem knights to ftk actually, the modern support they got requires the opponent to control a monster to use so that they can't do anything on the first and just otk on the second turn

The deck isn’t good enough to be hit with a ban going first sure it’s good but game 2 it’s harder to do and is still a some what pretty complicated deck

Just when i thought with snake-eyes we could chose too run not 18 hand traps and run fun power spells and engine grinding but no, HTs in critical mass is required looking forward with the new things released.

This will be a real problem, not only is it super consistent and hard to interupt but you don't actually have to force the FTK , the new support is just a bunch of 1 card starters so you can play a normal 1 card engine + handtraps/backrow deck that can FTK with 50% of hands and has an easy time going second
It’s actually not hard to interrupt considering dd crow, niberu, ash( in hand or grave), droll, bestyals all pretty common hand traps prevent the deck from going full ftk exist and it’s not even a guarantee the field spell will even be active
I wonder if they can also FTK with Disaster Leo and how consistent that is...

Not every but close to every handtrap. You can only droll, shifter, dogwood, and shifter them or crow the rankup and ogre the field spell. Outside of that, you are getting FTK. Can't even Bystial or Nib their own field if you give them puppet nightmare
@@potatoexe5410 yeah you're right, the thing with stuff like crow or ogre is that nobody wants to play them against any other deck so theyre probably just a side deck option. And only some decks can play shifter. No idea what they were thinking when they made the field spell 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️

Quattro's anime deck is just as ftk enabling, just without any searchers to make things consistent (lots of draw cards though)
He doesn't have a 1 card ftk in the anime, but he does have a 2 card ftk (with set up). In the anime, both disaster leo & puppet of leo only need to detatch their last material to activate their alt wincon. And so all he needs to do is:
-activate triangle gimmick box (anime only card) to banish 3 xyz monsters from grave to summon number 88 with no material
-activate argent chaos force to rank it up to number c88 with 1 material attached.
-activate disaster leo, detatch its only material, and end his turn to autowin.
He also has a hand trap to burn for up to 3500 atk, number c40 is not only a board nuke but a double draw, and of course non-once per turn giant grinder in a format where everyone plays xyz monsters.
Title is perfect, all that is missing is adding Quattro laughing in the thumbnail xD
This ftk and those fire dragon's might make spooky dogwood jump up in usability.
I Wonder if ghost sister and spooky dogwood might be used to survive the ftk if this gets big enough.
Only ways to stop this:
Shifter
DD crow the rank up magic
Dogwood
Contact c
Ogre the field spell's revival effect
Any other handtraps can be stopped because they have in engine/themed cards to prevent targetting and responging to their effects. Not only that they can puppet nightmare lock to stop bystials and nibbing the stuff they give you.
Can't you Nibiru the Giant Grinder targeting the Chaos Xyz on your field to save 3100 LP then Nibiru is useless for Grinder since it isn't an Xyz monster to pop and burn? I haven't seen Nightmare lock in 1 card FTKs

@@babradwhile yes it can stop the 1 card ftk, it isn't guaranteed to stop the ftk as they will still have 4 other cards to work with which can be used to do the nightmare lock early via the field spell to prevent nib.
This is also why droll isn't reliable either as they can already have the other pieces making the droll null and void. The aforementioned handtraps listed are the only ways that will ensure the ftk will not happen regardless of what in-engine/in-themed cards they open.
To top it off there are multiple variations of this FTK as they don't need to deal the entire 8k+ and only need to get you under 2k, then they can disaster leo you for game during the endphase.
The toxic things about this ftk is that it can play around or completely ignore alot of the usual handtraps, while also not even needing the FTK to win. Everything is in themed as well so you're already running all the cards anyways and can still set up a strong board of pseudo-towers monsters should the FTK be prevented. It's not a deck where you FTK or just straight up lose like most other FTKs.
Bystial on the doll in grave. Nib when you have the two puppets on your field

Ash the Bloody doll
Nibiru in they attempt to burn you to dead
D.D. Crow any possible card in GY that would return to elsewhere to cut it short
Cherry (if you think you have slot)
Retailitating "C"/Flying "C"
Veidos (quickie destroy field spell but it is ashable)

Also gimmick vengence - a quick play burn card that can be activated from the hand if it's the only card in your hand. If you don't ftk due to weird lines or interruption - just activate it and burn for a gimmick puppet's atk!
There is Horus synergy since the rank 8 is generic. Orcust Knightmare is able to send any Dark Machine to your GY too.

There's nothing scarier than an FTK deck with an effective going second line. And considering how long the only way to play these cards "effectively"(as in, AT ALL) was to go second with them, there's probably actual people more used to doing THOSE lines and OTKing through boards with all this gas they can utilize now.
The only way to make this video more perfect is to just laugh maniacally for the whole duration instead of speaking.
Infinite Forbidden now feels like a very fitting set name.

15 years reviewing new cards, I would have never expected the ones that break Lithium would be Gimmick Puppet.

As a branded puppet lock player I will literally shit a brick as soon as I pass turn to that field spell
There is other way to search field spell without normalling Pathfinder but you should use Foolish Burial Goods and Rainbow Bridge of Salvation and a Crystal Beast brick

Who would have imagined Gimmick Puppet was the archetypes where Konami would give up, and design the support to be a consistent FTK? I mean, is one thing when Konami misses an interaction but the players don't, but this is on purpose.

3 tear kash 3 spright blue and 1 fenrir was too much for the ocg tho but it’s fine for 1 card ftk+ 15 hts design for every new deck

I really liked having more Gimmick Puppet support but not like this...did not expect that they could make a really bad casual Rank 8 deck into a consistent broken FTK deck...
It sucks that it is a FTK but this doesn't mean the deck will be the best deck. There are tons of rogue deck that are basically pseudo ftk or ftk it doesn't make them top toer. And most often when an ftk is actually good it gets nerfed VERY quickly. What's kinda broken about it is really the field spell protection but even then it lose to ogre? Imperm? Droll ?
One thing i want to know is if there is actually an alternate gameplan... if not that's sad

@@parallelwooju Oh there's zone locking your opponent for a turn out of Summoning as many Gimmick Puppet (gonna shorten it to GP) monsters to the opponent's side of the field as possible which can be quite hard for them to navigate if they don't have ways to remove them. With the GP of Nightmare lock, there be some difficulty to out on their first turn going 2nd depending on the deck they're playing.

@@strangevol5264 That's why you dedicate Nightmare to cards like Give and Take, a Normal Trap that gives your opponent a monster you own from your Grave, and you get the card out of the Deck with Trap Trick or Trap Track. Also not everyone would be playing Underworld Goddess unless their deck is also spammy and actually plays several Link Monsters or we are in a format where Link decks are taking over the meta.

I personally dont have a problem with this ftk. Now if you could splash this as an engine in another deck and still ftk then it would be bullshit. Good on konami making an irrelevent archetype good. I would rather be gimmick puppet ftked then see everyone doing the same combo (halq days etc) or ending on the same generic extra deck monsters (baronne, apo, little knight, savage etc) at least it feels like im playing against something unique

honestly, outside of ftk, the deck doesn't seem as strong as most modern decks, so giving them the freedom to play with their field spell by making them unaffected by non-xyz monster effects is good

Am I the only one who isn't scared of this deck? It has no power whatsoever going second, and the combo gets shut down by imperm, droll, belle, crow, and the bystials (not to mention more niche options like shifter or ogre). Not to mention that the field spell is completely essential not just for protection but to make the combo work, and you can't guarantee it every game

Its to inconsistent.. ive been testing it and when your facing massive intruptions it is not logical to do the ftk. But the deck now fights back and breaks boards
