  • Just did a road trip of about 3500km and thought I would share my opinion.
    Should mention that others have had overheating issues but I never experienced any over heating.
    Any question please comment and I'll get back to you

      If it's still under warranty, you have to.

      Thanks for watching. You can have your LDV serviced through a licensed mechanic as long as the mechanic uses LDV genuine parts and approved oil and fluids. I had my first service through Ultra Tune as LDV needed 4 weeks notice for a service.... I was not prepared to have my car off the road for 4 weeks waiting for a dealership to get me in (I tried 3 dealers within 100k of me...) I had Ultra Tune follow LDV's directions and provide receipt evidence of parts used and had logbook stamped. Under Australian consumer law you can choose the non dealer option and according to LDV I won't have any warrantee issues because of it.
      The down side is if the vehicle needs software updates they are only available through LDV dealers.
      Cheers

    Thanks for that mate...Looking at a used 2019 Luxe today with 12k and all the options fitted tonneau, tow bar etc can't wait see what it's like!. Interesting on the forums that some people get their 1st 5000k(odd number normally a free after 1000 for most manufacturers)free and others paying up to $500 for essentially an oil change..All the best and keep up the good work

      Thanks mate. What did you think of the Luxe you were looking at? When I bought mine in August the dealer said free servicing is a promotion LDV offer every now and then, the current offer I got was free nudge bar, tow bar and light bar. Service at Ultratune was $360 and the guys there said because it was the first service there were alot of checks to be done as well as oil and filter. He gave the car a clean bill of health though so I'm really happy so far.

    ldv say about you having to use a genuine oil filter is BS , you must use a filter that meets Australian industry standards and all filters sold over the counter in Australia meet these standards , good luck to ldv repeating that line in court , as a mechanic I’ve been there and won against far bigger than ldv on behalf of a customer .

    A good honest review, I don’t like buying Chinese, but if the other manufactures keep putting their prices up on cars sold here, because our market base is small, then they will lose out.
    Which is why I’m looking at tow vehicles like the LDV T60.

    • @mongreljack
      @mongreljack  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks mate, I agree but if I don't buy Chinese then I pay heaps more for something made in Thailand (Hilux, D-Max, Triton), Argentina (VW Amarok), etc. that use electronics & components that are made in China. Would love to support Australian owned or made but it's not possible. I get the whole China "machine" thing but that horse has already bolted and I doubt we can bring it back... Thanks again,

      They come with a written 10 year rust warranty. Maybe the earlier ones had problems but I doubt they would back the current vehicles with that warranty if they have known problems. I've never kept a car for more than 10 years so no issue for me - I love my LDV! Cheers!

I'm thinking about getting either the Luxe or Trailrider 2 model at the end of this year and was just wondering about engine performance and noise. How's the noise in the cabin while driving? And how does the engine perform with everyday driving compared to others in the class? Thanks again mate and have a good one!

    • @mongreljack

      Thanks mate. I had a D22 Navara 5 speed manual before this so this is a bullet to me.... It's definately not as powerful as others in the class but is more than what I need. Heaps of people install the idrive or s-drive to improve the lag but I haven't tried and like I said its more than enough power for me. As for cabin noise, I don't think its bad at all. Go and have a test drive, I think you'll be impressed. In my view its a lot of truck for the money.
