- Preussens Gloria con el Ejercito de Chile en Gran Parada Militar 1992. "Preußens Gloria", Armeemarschsammlung II, 240, es una marcha militar muy conocida del siglo 19. Su compositor fue Johann Gottfried Piefke (1817-1884). "Preußens Gloria" ("La Gloria de Prusia" o "Gloria Prusiana") fue escrita en 1871 despues de la victoria del Reino Prusiano durante la guerra Franco-Prusiana, la cual llevo a la unificacion de Alemania. La marcha se toco por primera vez durante el retorno y parada triunfal de las tropas en Frankfurt (Oder), la base del destacamento del cual era Piefke. Como Piefke solo la tocaba para ocaciones especiales, la marcha fue poco conocida por un largo tiempo. En 1909 el manuscrito de la musica casi olvidada aparecio y fue revisada por el inspector de musica militar el Profesor Grawert. Al poco tiempo fue incluida en la colleccion de marchas Prusianas. Hoy en dia es una de las marchas mas conocidas del ejercito Aleman. Muchas veces es tocada por el Bundeswehr en ceremonias oficiales y visitas de estado. Tambien es una marcha muy difundida en otros ejercitos del mundo. En Alemania se toca por otras bandas no militares debido a su popularidad. He aqui la version de esta marcha bajo la tutela del Ejercito de Chile durante la anual Gran Parada militar de 1992. _______________________________________ "Preußens Gloria", Armeemarschsammlung II, 240, is a well-known military march of the 19th century. Its composer was Johann Gottfried Piefke (1817-1884). "Preußens Gloria" ("The Glory of Prussia" or "Prussia's Glory") was written in 1871 after the Kingdom of Prussia's victory in the Franco-Prussian War, which led to the unification of Germany. For the victory parade of the returned troops the march was performed for the first time in public in Frankfurt (Oder), the base of Piefke's garrison. As Piefke only performed it on important occasions, the march was unknown to a broader public for a long time. In 1909 the manuscript of the almost forgotten tune turned up and was reworked by army-musical inspector Prof. Grawert. Shortly afterwards it was included in the collection of Prussian army marches. Today it is one of the most known German army marches. It is often played by the Bundeswehr on official ceremonies and state visits. It also is a standard tune in many international military bands. In Germany it is often played by non-professional bands due to its popularity.

a little of history: In the XIX Century the Chilean Army was trained and equiped by Prussia and then Germany when hired captain of Kingdom of Prussia: Emilio Körner.
After that, came to the country hundreds of German instructors (this stoped in 1939 by pressure of the eeuu). But the chilean army stand all the old traditions of the german army: m42 helmet,gray uniform,purussian helmet,blue jacket and a lot of march's from the prussian kingdom and the german army (like preussens gloria, old comrades,lili marleen,i had a comrade, my rifle and i,radetzky march,and many others.)
Excelente. Nuestras fuerzas armadas y policiales han alcanzado un nivel de disciplina, marcialidad y belleza en los desfiles que no tienen comparación en el mundo. Viva Chile, vivan nuestras instituciones y espero que no cambien nunca , sobretodo en mantener la bellas marchas alemanas.

Para las paradas militares,que la infantería vuelva a usar el casco Alemán.
Terminada la guerra del Pacífico el Ejercito de Chile debía modernizarse, y miró a Europa, y ya Francia no era la gran potencia militar (después de la guerra franco-prusiana de 1870), por lo cual contrató a oficiales alemanes (prusianos muchos de ellos), austriacos y checos entre otros. Pero las formas y uniformes fueron adoptadas de Prusia y Alemania. Lo único que la antigua oficialidad chilena no acepto fueron y mantuvo de Francia hasta nuestros días los parches en los hombros de espalda a pecho de grados (por ello a los generales del Ejercito de Chile se les dice pecho-espalda)

El Ejército de Chile tiene influencia militar Prusiana desde el año 1885,nuestro País contrató los servicios de instructores Alemanes encabezados por el Capitán del Reino de Prusia Emilio Körner para que reformara nuestro Ejército,por eso los uniformes,la disciplina,las marchas y las paradas militares tienen semejanza con el antiguo Ejército Alemán,esta influencia militar luego permeó al resto de las instituciones armadas,hasta el día de hoy se mantiene esta tradición.Saludos desde Chile

En 1985 llegó a Chile EMILIO KÓRNER HENZE contratado como profesor en el Ejército Chileno y después varios oficiales prusianos para organizar dicho Ejército y desde entonces se conserva esta tradición.

German/Prussian military discipline is alive and well in the southern hemisphere. Sadly, military parades don't exist in Germany any more :(

Durante este proceso de modernización se profesionalizó la formación de la oficialidad con modernización de los contenidos de enseñanza de la Escuela Militar, la creación de la Academia de Guerra (la primera de América y la cuarta academia más antigua de su género en el mundo, siendo precedida por la escuela del Reino Unido (1799), Prusia (1826) y Francia (1876)). Asimismo se creó el Instituto Geográfico Militar, se instauró durante este período el Servicio militar obligatorio.

@SuperTravis898 because of German inmigration and Prussian military instructors in the 1880's. The training went on for many decades. This explains the weapons (including Leopard battle tanks), uniforms and the marches. Greetings.

They were instructed by hundreds of instructors Prussians, under the direct supervision of the Prussian artillery captain, Emil Körner which came the command of Inspector General of the Chilean Army, nothing was stolen or adopted, was paid for services through the embassy in Berlin . Estimado: comparto casi todo lo que dijiste, en especial con el tema del nazismo. Pero no fueron inmigrantes quienes instruyeron a nuestro Ejército. Fueron instructores del reino de prusia, contratados y pagados por el estado de Chile para modernizar nuestro ejercito.

@1111hola.. argentina ,es como el hermano pesado ,que te resfriega en la cara sus triunfos deportivos,pero no dejan de ser nuestros hermanos..(no hay cavida para el comentario)y lo son ,nosostros somos de bajo perfil (callados)y tratamos de no sobresalir ,asi,es nuestra naturaleza , excepto en lo militar,ahi tenemos una fibra devil,callados pero no weones,ahi somos como hormigas ,tenemos diferencias pero nos alineamos de una forma increible,y si eso pasa (cosa rara)ahi somos de temer...saludos.

son marchas autro-prusianas la mayoria, tambien hay marchas inglesas, marchas francesas y obviamente marchas chilenas, producto de los diferentes tiempos y tipos de instruccion militar por los que ha pasado nuestro ejercito. Pero en general o son alemanas o austriacas, legado que nos dejaron los instructores prusianos a inicios del siglo XX, encabezado por don Emil Körner, quien fue el reformulador del ejercito chileno.

@Jagdpanzer777 Well... the predecessor state of Germany was Prussia... so I'd say this is a German military tradition music. Remember that after the First World War, a part of Prussia was still under German jurisdiction. Only after the Second World War, the Allies decided to "crush" once and forever the Prussian state, or whatever was left of it.
