If I might offer just a BIT of advice, as a person who is going through his third playthrough of Black Myth Wukong; make sure you read EVERY Journal entry. Even if it is on your own time, read them all. Not only do they describe the enemies you face and characters you meet, several of them have interconnected stories that make sense only when you read them together; in doing so, though, you gain a greater understanding of the game (and it's universe) at large.
Yo Mati, I'm currently watching the introduction part of the game and I noticed that it's playing roughly 1.25x of the normal speed of the game but your camera is on normal speed. Did you make a big oopsie on the editing table or what is this? It's so confusing to watch after having played the game myself D:
Shout out for Mati knowing that Sun Wukong was riding the OG Nimbus. And that it wasn't "stolen" from Goku. That's why I tune in. It's the little things.
HUGE tip for you Mati, the green spirits/will refill 1 use of your gourd while the blue and purple ones fully refill it. This helped me alot half way through the game since i figured that out kinda late 😅

This game has alot of secrets that are extremely easy to miss, so you don't miss anything and get to see everything you can in a single playthrough I'm happy to be your unofficial guide to each chapter. Ill be as spoiler free as possible so no need to stress about that. Ill make a post in each chapter video with things you may have missed as progressing too far will lock you out of cool items, areas, bosses and even game play mechanics. Here i go --> Chapter 1 This one has a few secrets nothing too crazy Get Skanda from Buddha head statue - DONE Ring 3 bells - DONE Find NPC - You missed this as did I my first playthrough. go back to the area where you killed the big wolf boss continue straight and immediately turn left after the shrine. Youll find a cave with a valuable NPC. Make sure you talk to him until his dialog repeats. There is another thing to find but it doesn't become available until later. And that's it! Great work so far 👏
To be specific Mati, Reaching and progressing slightly into Chapter 2 you’ll find a cave-like area with a statued wall, something must be done to break it, when you do, enter and retrieve (necessary item) and go back to Chapter 1 where you fought Wandering Wight and finally find the waterfall and approach. This item will be useful for some secret stuff in later Chapters too
I had the exact same reaction to the first chapters ending animation or story. So much love and heart was put into the game and it only gets better. Enjoy the Journey to the West Mati.
The way you are blowing past these bosses is a reflection on how much playing Elden ring DLC improved you as a player. Most people had trouble with white clad.
Glad to see you picked up this game. A couple of suggestions. Use the slam stance so you can charge heavies while moving. Use the Blue baby as spirit. It gives a big defense boost and does great damage.

quick tip that a lot of people (myself included) struggled with regarding the spirit transformations, it isn't R2 and L2 at the same time, it's like your other moves where you hold R2 and then hit a 2nd button, so always hit R2 before L2. If you figure this out later in the video since I'm only halfway through then disregard this :P

I have waited for this. I didn't watch any of the other creators' walkthroughs because I couldn't quite get involved in it. With you it seems like a journey because of the way you get attached to the game mentally and emotionally as well @Mati !
Also just in case, you can change the controller layout to a more Soulslike-like lol so R1 and R2 for attacks, circle for dodging, etc. in case that's more comfortable, given that you just finished with GOW and Elden Ring DLC
Some quick tips: Transformations don’t consume mana, and they have their own health bar…so they’re very useful when starting boss fights (you can possibly get a second use), or during horde fights, or low health scenarios. It’s embarrassing to admit how long it was into the game before I realized transformations don’t consume mana… it would have made me use them much more and made my play through much easier. The jump attack is pretty powerful. Jump then square, followed by triangle for a powerful double strike. The smash stance has a unique ability that allows you to charge and be on the move or sprint. This helps get a powerful hit against enemies before engaging in battle. Hold triangle to charge, then sprint toward an enemy and unleash it. The wondering wight “spirit” is one of the better choices, even late game. It gives a huge buff to defense, and does solid damage. As for me, personally, I never really used the pillar stance. I never cared for the move set. For me, I always used smash for damage, and the thrust stance for keeping a distance (defensive play) or when attacking flying enemies. The smash stance sort of has a parry mechanic, and the thrust stance will allow you to leap away from danger and then re-engage the enemy
@34:57 there is actually a boss behind that waterfall but you dont have what you need to be able to unlock it yet its an item that you get in chapter 2 once you get it travel back to the closest shrine in black wind mountain and go infront of the waterfall the item will then open it and you will be able to fight the boss there
What you’re in for (no spoilers): I just got done beating this game (true ending), and I loved it but it’s not perfect. It’s 85% boss fights, and several boss fights have janky hit boxes, the bosses teleport, the mechanics aren’t the type I find really engaging, etc.. However, the variety is unsurpassed and overall the combat is incredibly fun and super satisfying. Here’s hoping you have as much fun with it as I did. I actually think you’re going to love this. It’s like dark souls and god of war 2018 had a little monkey baby.
HELL yes. At the final final boss myself, my GOTY for sure. Once again I get to relive a game I've played through watching you play through it. Also smash stance, trust me. Also there is one chapter in particular that will be extra entertaining for us to watch you play for all the wrong reasons.
He's a perfect person for a game like this because he's often really curious. And he's willing to try stuff. It's such a useful thing and nobody uses it from what I've seen.

I went through it with the big guy as well. I basically grinded to 25 and put a lot into stamina and stasis and it allows you to stun lock him. Great job doing it at level 12

That tutorial boss and scene gave me goose bump everytime I start a NG+. If this is your first playthrough, playing Wukong at the start give you a taste of what you could become in the game. Pretty good to behonest. I've completed this game 3 times (3x true ending as well) and is good. Third playthrough onwards is brutal.

I’m stuck in chapter 3 but I’m loving this game so far and after the baby fight the game doesn’t really challenge until chapter 2 they are about 3 bosses that will test you then the end of chapter 3 is brutal lol
Hey Mati! Awesome to see you taking this game on next, I think you'll love it! Except for chapter 4, oh god will you hate that. Excited for the journey! Graphics are definitely much more consistent on PC though unfortunately but hopefully its still enjoyable for you!

That was actually the plan before I started this one lol only thing is that I've seen way too many movies so it'd be actually tough to make a channel around it 😅 but maybe one day, perhaps more recent titles rather than classics.
For your FPS issue i recommend turning off VRR and HDR and any other setting you might have changing from 4k to 2k helps alot also check your monitor if it's on the right settings as well
Mati, please dont feel the need to rush and do a chapter per video! There are so many secrets in this game, and the best fight in the game imo is unlocked by doing a couple of secrets. The first chapter isn't that big, but the optional stuff going forward is really cool!

Make sure to check on your spirits. Almost all of them have a passive ability. Like the blue guy. Once you equip him, he raises your defense. Check them all out and watch the little mini videos to see how to use each one. Not all of them attack.

What I appreciate about this game is that the challenges are the bosses not the game mechanics themselves.

I went through it with the big guy as well. I basically grinded to 25 and put a lot into stamina and stasis and it allows you to stun lock him. Great job doing it at level 12

That tutorial boss and scene gave me goose bump everytime I start a NG+. If this is your first playthrough, playing Wukong at the start give you a taste of what you could become in the game. Pretty good to behonest. I've completed this game 3 times (3x true ending as well) and is good. Third playthrough onwards is brutal.

I’m stuck in chapter 3 but I’m loving this game so far and after the baby fight the game doesn’t really challenge until chapter 2 they are about 3 bosses that will test you then the end of chapter 3 is brutal lol

For your FPS issue i recommend turning off VRR and HDR and any other setting you might have changing from 4k to 2k helps alot also check your monitor if it's on the right settings as well

Mati, please dont feel the need to rush and do a chapter per video! There are so many secrets in this game, and the best fight in the game imo is unlocked by doing a couple of secrets. The first chapter isn't that big, but the optional stuff going forward is really cool!

Make sure to check on your spirits. Almost all of them have a passive ability. Like the blue guy. Once you equip him, he raises your defense. Check them all out and watch the little mini videos to see how to use each one. Not all of them attack.
