For anyone who it isn’t working, the wording is confusing but for the farm to work you need to have the lever TURNED OFF and then push the button. When the lever is on it is in safe mode. Turn the lever off then push the button

Please note: At least in the newest 1.21.4 you must build the tnt duping section in a certain direction. Best reference in that direction being to face the obsidian east relative to the midpoint.
Also wouldn't hurt to make sure it's all in one chunk.
