    Like you say Ivan a sudden change in the weather is now bringing results, In zone 8b have noticed a big change in the last 10 days from dormant growth to rapid. My French bean plants are romping away planted 5 days ago outside potatoes are starting to flower which is early and a bit strange. Enjoyed your update.

    Thanks for update. l was impatient yesterday and as experiment planted out just 2 runner beans plants that were far to big for their pots, one was 'firestorm,' other 'Armstrong'. l even enclosed them in bubble wrap.Armstrong this morning is perfectly ok and looking happy but Firestorm is sulking. l succession sow all my seeds so lv got more than enough for my failures, but these colder nights are making some of the plants very unhappy. l'll be glad when May is over. Iv not lost anything yet , but its been very strange month for my veg growing.

    Have to say I'm a bit jealous of your lettuce. Had a good start a few weeks ago with some indoor plants but now in a bit of a lull. Newer ones germinated quick enough but then grew a bit limp.
    Working on a new batch and can now get some outside. Fingers crossed for some better results.
    Cheers for all the vids and all the best from a Midlands (Nottm) viewer (and subscriber)
    👍🙂

    That tomato could have been eaten by a crane fly larvae, “Leatherjacket” I once lost some young tomatoes in my cold frame, and I found the culprit.

    Thanks for the update Ivan, everything seems to have done alright, considering how cold it was last night. Sorry you lost the tomatoes. Thanks for sharing.

    All the zucchini seeds I direct sowed grew that I run out of my homemade compost so I bought bagged ones. And I just love the Little Gem lettuce!
    Thanks, teacher.

    We live in the UK , everytime you quote F temps I have to pause the video to do a conversion. I have said this before - so maybe you have USA viewers and maybe they outnumber your UK/Euro viewers, but you could, at least, also give C temps?

    • @ivans-gardening-allotment-uk
      @ivans-gardening-allotment-uk  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi Dee i have always used F Temps just an habit and we have more UK viewers than USA so i will start and also give C Temps as well
      Thank you

      @@ivans-gardening-allotment-uk Fair enough-habit how tho?-I am 63 yrs old and have NEVER heard a Met Office forecast in F.

      I am in the US and I have to do the calculation for every other British channel I watch that mentions temps in C, LOL. And I do appreciate it when both are mentioned. Easy enough to add a caption in editing, I think?

    I notice you have bubble wrap around the walls of your greenhouse, is that to keep the heat in or for shading?

    Hi Ivan good update. Question I’m a newbie.. trying to grow peppers but all leggy and weak looking and growing longer than yours! How do you get them nice and stocky. Do you have a grow light? Thx

    • @ivans-gardening-allotment-uk
      @ivans-gardening-allotment-uk  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi..i used grow lights early in the year but then switched to window sunlight
      You can bury them a little deeper to take out some of the stretch or pinch out the tops on a few to make them more bushy
      Thank you DeeAnn
