Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt: Margot's Story

At birth, Margot Riebeling was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. This thickening of the heart muscle makes it harder for the organ to pump blood. Margot's parents, Emily Grace and Michael, were referred to Monroe Carell to get her the special care she needed.
Margo's doctor at Monroe Carell, Justin Godown, MD, is a pediatric cardiologist. He and his team at our Pediatric Heart Institute worked with other specialists in Neonatology and Pediatric Genetic Medicine to develop a unique care plan that was right for Margot.
