Nice video. Did you by any chance compare the S&B tank to the sriram tank. I’ve heard good things about both. Looking to add a 50 gallon Tank to my 3500 Ram HO in a few months. Also, would you know by any chance what tuner would be needed on the Ram to reset the tank specs like you did with ForScan?
I have a video installing the Ram tank on my channel. The ram tank holds most of its fuel above the sending unit. Like 20 gallons that does not register. I like to keep my DTE accurate and I found leaving it stock was the most accurate. It would register 750 miles to empty for days until level started to drop. Then the ecm uses 750 for the 30 gallons and it is very in accurate. Yes you can use Alpha obd to change it.
I have used s&b and been happy with them.. mostly use them as they offer a few more gallons storage and option for aux pump if needed. Titan is a good tank also..
Sending unit reads empty correctly.. it will be accurate at the bottom. If the truck stays on full until it burns 10 gallons of diesel. So when the guage starts to move you have 50 gallons. DTE calc starts at 50 gallons when sending unit can read. If pcm thinks you have 60 gallons at when it moves from full it is calculating 60x the average fuel economy =dte.. PCM need to calculate actual fuel in the tank when the guage starts to move which is 50 gallons..

Love the sound of those mud grapplers
Sounds like ass
I am about to install this tank on my 2021. Did you stick with the 50 value? Do you have to pay for a license to run FORScan?
Yes 50 value and I think you can request a temp license.. I purchased mine.

@@RockyRohde Thank you. Any thoughts on the S&B compared to a Titan fuel tank?

Any idea if this process will work on a 2024? When I changed Fuel Level Source to IPC the DTE went to zero (0)?
Can you explain what the PCM vs IPC part does?
PCM is power control module (main pc) IPC is actual instrument cluster programming
Any updates on the DTE value settings. I pulled the trigger and bought a tank and waiting for to arrive.
At 6:05 it lists fuel operated heater… what is that?
Hey - is that wheel drone I hear in video?
Nitto Mud grapplers.. some love it and some can’t stand it 😂
@@RockyRohde - definitely LOVE the look and capability. Will have to give this some thought. Another awesome truck.
@@RockyRohde - In your experience what are the quietest 37-inch tires?
@@razorwired130 nitto recon grapplers or ridge grapplers looks great and are silent tires
If it wont recognize the top 7 gal you should go up to 67 Then it will read accurate
Where are you located sir install the s&b tank few months ago but they guy said can’t recalibrate the gauge forscan.
Download forscan and change it yourself.. two settings have to be changed.. I am in Victoria Tx
What did you settle with for the final capacity in the Cluster? 55 or 50?
50
Shouldn't the computer be adjusting the range automatically based on your mpg?
No.. At full it uses last 50-100 mile average times qty of gallons.. The qty of gallons has to be correct
Im not sure i understand. If theres 60 gallons of fuel in the tank why wouldn’t you want your range correct off whats in the tank?

2011 F350 6.7 I put in the S&B 70 gal I can go 1000 miles
Its going to show 0 miles to empty with fuel in the tank still
