      Interesting observation. The music is stereo and the voice is left-channel only (with nothing in the right channel - no matter how high we might turn it up). It just needs to be remixed with at least 2-channel mono. Interesting how left-channel only seems to leave some things unsaid 😮

    You helped put things in a new perspective for me, and thank you very much for that. But I think i encountered my shadow too fast to remain the same person on the surface. I do appreciate your insight though...

    I’d be interested in hearing what Jungian analysts have to say about racism as part of America’s collective shadow. The projection of White American angst, anxiety or xenophobia and it’s impact on the psyche of Black and Brown people. I believe depth psychology has some revealing truths about this dynamic.

      Because acting on it is a personal realization of the human character, if you look through moral philosophy or religious text dealing with the issue you'll find echoes. But it's the fact that the information is reproduced in a different area of study what makes it become common knowledge. I remind myself of Nietzsche, that he was perhaps the last philosopher who was not informed of psychology. Thomas Mann once said all Freud did was reproduce the German Romantic philosophers. And people throw Jung along with mystics because he pointed out the human heart as the source of myth (gross oversimplification though). So, I don't know if it's common knowledge yet, we're too immersed in ideology - well if you see it through that slant, you know?

    Hello, i am searching for a particular term that ive heard is attributed to Jung's work, and it is "the golden shadow." Has Jung used this term, and if so, where may i find it?
    thanks
    Rory

    • @JungSocietyofWashington
      @JungSocietyofWashington  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Lawrence Of Canadia
      Jung does not use the term directly though he certainly walks around that trope many times. The phrase was used in a book I do not recommend because of its superficiality:
      www.amazon.com/Your-Golden-Shadow-Discovering-Undeveloped/dp/006250553X
      Given that the shadow contains the richness of the unlived life, it certainly offers golden opportunities.

    We live in mental world. Everything has to do with the psyche. I think if the individual survive death, it has something to do with a super mental complex system that people called God.
