I just discovered this game through this video, and oh my god... This could truly be the Minecraft killer if I ever seen one. Official modding API, actual voxel graphics, very optimized (because made not on java), with interesting mechanics making vanilla experience just as enjoyable and replayable without mods, multiplayer including "open to LAN". The only thing this game needs is more recognition, some time and money for development, and a big enough community of people who are sick of Minecraft being ass, and who are willing to make giant mods that overhaul the whole experience, so that it becomes not just a game, but tons of different games in one. I'm amazed and extremely hopeful.
Just buy it, it's so good, and special. From what I understand the devs are aware they could make the game explode if it went on steam or something, but they actually prefer the slow but steady growth for now. It does seem to be accelerating though, like I feel like there's more and more 10k+ view videos about Vintage Story
@@qptech well, if I could buy it I would, but they don't take Russian money. I'll probably wait for it to grow and develop for some more time untill I actually play it even though I'm extremely tempted, just to keep that first experience even more enjoyable. Plus, I'm so used to playing Minecraft with gregtech mod anything less feels too easy in terms of progression and mechanics. And for that I think the modding community should first grow to the point where something like gregtech is made. I'll just let them cook, but will follow the updates.
Dang with all the cool menu features of that, I am beginning to wonder if we will be one step closer to something akin to "Just Enough Items" in vintage story. Sure we have the handbook, but it would be nice to just search up a block or item in a menu that persists as well as gives easier recipe searching, etc.
Love it! Have you ever considered making a "fence maker" like your "ladder maker" tool? I chiseled a fence around a church on the Bohemian Server and since it is just a normal block that is chiseled, every bear, wolf and their brothers can hop it. I need to review how to save these!!! Are they saveable across games? maps?
Yes they are saveable across games and server: 1. Snapshot something with your pantograph 2. Type .pf save 3. This will save it to your computer and you can load it with the portfolio viewer Are fences special to mobs or just 1.5 block high blocks?
I was thinking more along the lines of natural processes. Chisel a barrel to look like a toilet or garbage can, after some time, you have compost in two places you would expect. :)

Plus you can rotate & mirror on all 3 axis, and merge shapes together too. Chiseling is so addictive!

Actually only thing missing is a + button to put the recipe in crafting grid and I guess shortcuts to recipes
