Wonderful series of videos and extremely helpful for people who may otherwise get caught in a scam. There are a lot of different scams going on. My mother in law almost got caught in one on a dating site. The guy she was talking with formed a "relationship" with her. Said he was traveling but got stuck and needed $4000 to get home. The scammer got angry with her when she told him she couldn't send it. She almost did after that. Thank goodness she talked to us and we were able to give her some clarity on the situation. Just as "Richard" tried to do, many scammers will prey on emotions to reach their ultimate goal of stealing their victim's money.
Plot twist, Ms Janet fell in love with Richard and is stalking him to be with him. Now Richard is under Protected Scammer Agency and has to relocate across the world to include changing his identity.
This is one of the funniest scam calls I have heard, but as you say creepy and you did so well to keep him on the phone for so long and I am sorry to say it might be because you sound so nice, Richard sometimes sounded like Stephen Hawkings - "Why would I lie to you" . Thank you for this series, it was fun and sad at the same time that people will use these befriending techniques to scam people out of money.

Nigeria is an English speaking country, so I can't imagine why their English speaking ability would be that bad, I've met plenty of folks from Nigeria, including Nigerian Immigrants who work as Librarians and they speak English very well. Honestly I have no sympathy for anyone trying to own any of those creatures getting scammed, because those creatures belong in the wild, not domestication, they're NOT like cats, and dogs that have been part of human society for a very long time, dogs, and cats like being part of human homes, and it's MUTUAL benefit. I don't look at anyone being scammed trying to have monkeys, or hippos, or any other creatures like that as pets as sympathy worthy victims. That's entirely different from someone who thought they have won a large money prize, being told they have to pay a processing fee in order to claim their prize, and never receiving anything, that is someone I have sympathy for!
