This movie is just turd after turd after turd. The real reason why Steve inherits the “Handsome Man” guy’s body is because they needed to film the following wardrobe goofy scenes for a few laughs. Inheriting the guy’s apartment means they also get access to his clothes, and so yeah this is as far as the writers thought about it.
A better option (if they went with the 'inhabit another guys body') would have been to show Steve waking up in the man's body, then making his way to Diana. You could have then had all the same fish-out-of-water jokes but played from Steve's perspective, and make sense. They way they did it in the movie - which would have happened after Steve woke up, and made his way across town - made no sense because he would already have encountered subway trains, trash cans, and all the 80s stuff which we see later on. All the things that he ought to have been more shocked by - the TVs, computers, phones, cars, ... are all passed over. More turds. Everything in this movie, apart from Gadot and Pine, is bad.

To be honest I was mildly surprised they put him in a random mans body rather than a random womans with current releases.
i think you are right about the clothes changing scene, but like couldn't they have just gone to a department store and still had that same exact scene? its like one of the most tired tropes in movies i know iv seen it in like 100 other things and they never had to contrive some body swapping nonsense.
I was watching this movie just out of curiosity, and I thought to myself at the halfway mark "Why do I have to wait half the movie to watch the movie?!"
You forgot how the convenient plot allowed it to go from the fourth of July to Christmas in 50 minutes.

For every shot taken from the trailer, once that scene appeared in the movie with actual context, the scene was basically dumb, meaningless, or simply underwhelming. Like the shot of Barbara running fast was just her leaving the library after having turned down the librarian who hit on her, then it was her running fast by a bunch of guys catcalling her, leading up to that awful looking sequence of her kicking her attacker. Those shots looked so cartoony. And I'm like why is she even running? Then the trailer shot of Diana throwing down the golden armor wings in a badass manner was the result of Cheetah damaging them like paper after we are told that they fought off the Spartan Army. The hallway shot of Lord's evil smile into the camera was just the result of him seeing the artifact on Barbara's desk. These were treated as these big, epic moments in the trailer that when taken in context in the movie, are pretty boring.

Some screenwriters become decent directors with time and practice... but somehow, it never seems to work the other way around. When directors start thinking they can write too, they usually end up embarrassing themselves.

If you're a story-teller at heart, then one would expect that you start out by writing stories. It doesn't take the participation of any other people or any monetary investment to just sit down as a kid and write a story, and then hopefully you get better at it along the way. If you are of an age and experience level that you've been trusted to put together one or more multi-million dollar motion pictures and you've never just sat down to try and write a story before, it might be a pretty good indication that crafting fiction just isn't your thing. And the running gag of the general lack of respect for screenwriters might just give some directors the notion that that's the easy part of making movies. The light lifting that anyone could do.

I think the Winner is WW84 because at least Mulan tried to have a theme, failed miserably but tried while WW84 didn't even try to make sense
From what I can see after this video. It sounds like the artifact extracts its price instantly. so why would it drain Diana's powers slowly? oh yea so the plot can build tension because we the viewers will wonder when she won't be super and what she can and can't do anymore. writers are becoming so bad at following rules they create. if you're going to make a physical law in your universe don't constantly break it.
Oh no no no....they don’t go to an airport and steal a plane. They go to the SMITHSONIAN and steal a decommissioned fighter jet, which is still operational and fully fueled. Which is even more ridiculous 😂
The fact that they even mentioned that they went to the smithsonian is even stupider. Because while they were there they literally could have found a regular 1910s jet that was out of commission. Then all they would have to do is fuel it. This easily removes the entire plot hole of Steve driving a plane made 70 hears in the future
How did this Jet have enough fuel to go to Egypt, and come back?

If you cut out Steve, Diana, Barbara, and everything else in the movie except for all the Max Lord stuff, you could actually have a good movie with a lesson about greed, and how success and fame overrated and family is first.

The first movie implied that up until then she had just been a normal Amazonian, without any special powers. And been denied any form of training by her mother. So the first 10 minutes just re-writes that narrative. So bad.

The first WW movie was waaaay overhyped, but in the end it was a very entertaining superhero/adventure movie, with a likable heroine and some cool action (minus the CGI-finale). All in all, it's 2 hours of good entertainment.
WW84 on the other hand is a total disaster. It's not even a ''so bad it's fun to watch'' type of movie,like Batman & Robin (which is hilarious from all the unintenional humor) this here is just a boring,bloated mess with a storyline so dumb it makes you wonder how people like Geoff Johns & Patty Jenkins are considered ''professional writers''.
It's not even a superhero movie, instead it's more of an 80's/90's cringey RomCom and even the techincal aspects like CGI & fight-choreography are subpar.
The last part of the first WW film was great but the 2nd film was garabage other than the opening scene.
WW84 is horrible. I agree with your take on it. The armor was basically useless and they just wrote it in to sell toys. If she has all her power back why use it? Its like they may have been working off a Snyder script, then trashed it to write it as they went along instead. DCEU is a complete mess right now. The Snyderverse was and is there only hope. As they have a massive continuity issue. This movie does nothing to connect to any DCEU movie. They could have had a cameo by a young Bruce Wayne. Something for us fans instead of pandering to SJW crowd.

And the jet they take to fly all the way across the world is a museum artefact if I remember correctly? When you hear these movies out loud they make all the less sense...
In the Air and Space Museum, a branch of the Smithsonian - that's why Diana's pass opened the doors for them, she works at the Smithsonian. But where is the runway that the jet charges down in order to take off? Are they hurtling along Independence Avenue? There's no space for any of this to happen, just look at a map!

You couldve cut 45 minutes from this film and missed absolutely nothing at all. Not a single plot point. Steve Trevor should've never been in this movie. It should've been about diana prince/wonder woman and barbara minerva/cheetah. Unlike others, I actually was fine with Kirsten Wigg, she'd shine more if they used the actual cheetah backstory, not the wish stone bs. Maxwell Lord goes from kinda creepy/con-man to just downright cringey and the entire cairo, egypt sequence is another thing that could've been entirely cut out so like maybe 55 minutes, 1hr 45 minute movie.
Unlike others too, I do think the setting is very 1984, but it's played more for laughs than time realism which makes it forgettable despite my eyes remembering, my brain doesn't remember enough to say it was justified in any way to not just be modern day.
We know why they chose 1984 because that was the album title of Van Halen s album that suppose to of kicked of the decade for teenage boys and rock.
On another note didnt think a film could be worse than Captian Marvel they stuck a likeable actress into a crappy film here.

Patty Jenkins needs to go back to that burger flipping job as she obviously can’t make movies. The first Wonder Woman she got lucky others wrote it.

4:18 It's made even worse by the fact that all CCTV footage has been autosaved to a cloud since the 70's, so destroying the camera doesn't prevent its access.
Honestly, I like the beginning of the movie.
However, if I have to make one change about it, include the Amazon Priscilla (who is going to be a major player/villain in the movie) in the competition with Diana, and that conversation between [Diana] & Hippolyta about being patient & not cheating does come back up.
For the rest of the movie, I think it should've been about Diana's past coming to haunt her in many ways.
Remember that Amazon named Priscilla that I've mentioned? She was Diana's rival for centuries, they were evenly matched, until Priscilla cheated on that day when the contest prize was the secrad Goddess items (aka Wonder Woman's tiara, belt, gauntlets, and rope).
After confessing her cheat (when Priscilla touched the rope when the other items didn't work on her), Diana got rewarded with the items, and Priscilla was punished by having her stripped of her immortality & was transformed into a cheetah.
Priscilla swore vengeance against Diana, and vows she will be back one way or another to kill her & have those Goddess items to herself.
Years later, a woman named Deborah Domaine, found an Amazon tiara that was on the skull of a dead cheetah. Fascinated by this strange mystery, Deborah took the tiara with her to the United States, however sometimes she can hear the tiara talking to her....
It turns out that the spirit of Priscilla was in the tiara, and she hypnotizes Deborah to wear that cursed tiara, promising to "help her." As Deborah continues to wear the tiara, she soon develop strange abilities she never had before like running incredibly fast, quicker reflects, and having sixth sense that makes her be alert of any danger.
Those effects soon got worse as Deborah starts to grow spotty fur, fangs, claws, and a tail...thus Deborah has fully become Cheetah & starts to hunt down Wonder Woman to finish what Priscilla had started....

I mostly agree with you, but the beginning ACTUALLY ties in with her boring speech at the end of the movie and also shows a statute of the goddess who wore the bird armor that Diana will eventually utilize... for a whole 30 seconds 😆 Anyway I did see connections with this scene and the ending, but overall the movie is a 5/10 for a movie and a 2/10 for a Wonder Woman movie. Good video review y though 👍

There’s so much more wrong with this movie but one of the more subtle points is Barbara’s transformation and her wish in general. She’s an accomplished historian and works for a prestigious Smithsonian but despite her education and successful career she’s depicted as a nobody who’s a disorganized slob that dresses frumpy and can’t walk in heels. But once she learns to balance in heels and wears a tight dress suddenly she has value.
I understand this is a fantasy world but little girls will watch this and might get the impression that the only way they’ll be seen as strong and have value is if they wear sexy heels, don tight dresses and don’t skip the gym ladies because no man likes a frumpy, messy girl who just happens to be supremely educated and a career woman.
One note: at the end of the video you mention that an undisclosed amount of time passes after the events of the movie; it was about 6 months. This is based on the fact that Diana and Steve fly through fireworks after she comments that it’s the 4th of July. At the end of the movie when she meets the guy who’s body she used as a jungle gym it appears to be Christmas. Then again maybe it’s been an entire year it’s the Christmas 1985.
Whatever. This movie sucked sweaty pig balls.

Even if we ignore 99% of the absurdities in this movie, just consider the basic premise: a magic stone grants wishes to people. That alone makes this one of the dumbest superhero movies ever made. Like, seriously, that's the best they could come up with? No sci-fi angle or attempt at realism à la Dark Knight. Nope, let's go straight for Aladin-style retardedness!
