The numbered books are a lot of fun when you realize they were essentially standalone episodes of the show. The writers were forbidden from making any changes to continuity or doing anything that could affect the show's canon. I have all the numbered TNG books and most of the non-numbered, and still love most of the numbered.

True. It's a matter of sifting through some garbage to find the gold.

I like the old numbered books. It was back before they had too much canon to work around, and therefore I believe allowed more creativity.

I think my favorite book is The Romulan Way by Diane Duane. Sarek, Prime Directive, and Imzadi are also great, though for Sarek you should have some familiarity with TWOK and TUC. I have read over 20 books, am expecting 6 to arrive today, and expecting another 7 soon. I will then have 55. Not a bad start. For the record, Diane Duane cowrote the TNG episode that introduced the Traveller.

fotonovel #2 is under valued if you're a true collector. I will ask this question? What is James Kirks middle initial? Your answer is in this fotonovel. Oh just for your info IT IS NOT " T " it was changed after this ONE episode.

What you guys consider ‘bad’ covers, I consider really cool…I guess I just enjoy corny pulp things.

Damn what a collection! That’s insane and cool. Can I ask a question? Is there a Star Trek novel you read and thought “that’s awful and good at the same time”? Not William Shatner ones. (I’m sorry for any mistakes, eng is not my first language)
