Just watched your video of Woodland Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio. Great video. I live in Dayton and have been a Woodland Tour Guide for about ten years. I thought you might also be interested in knowing that I knew and worked with Boss Kett early in my career. I also am a historical speaker and will soon be posting my Kettering Talk on TH-cam.

I can remember being in an old family cemetery and while walking and taking pictures I heard clear as day; "STOP ! STOP !" I stopped walking, looked around, no one was there and after looking down you could see a pretty well covered up by grass and all area in front of me, it turned out to be an opening to a well ! One more step and I'd have fallen in it. After putting some boards over it out loud I thanked the sprite that saved my life. This was in the Pine Barrens at an old homestead.
Remember me as you pass by, as you are now so once was I.
As I am now, soon you will be, so prepare for death and follow me.
I've seen that on a head stone.

I live in Australia and always loved Glen Campbell. Could you deviate and visit the Glen Campbell Museum which is chock full of his memorabilia and guitars and stage clothes and music you could do a whole film clip of the Glen Campbell Museum.
I have no hope of travelling due to being in a wheelchair but would love to see it and I'm sure other fans of his would too.
If you can't it really doesn't matter because I am really loving your work.

I love cemeteries...especially old ones..I've been to many cemeteries as a genealogist, tracing my own family as well as the family trees of other ppl who have needed help. So, yep, I do enjoy your videos...As for the concrete box that the regular stone sits on top of...in most cases they are there for support. Some were made at the time and some were added later...alot of the older ones, will have a "slit" cut through the tops of them for the taller flat stone to sit in. Most of the time when you see a stone with the lamb on top of them, that was an infant or a child buried there. You are doing an awesome job...thank you so much for your videos....

My favorite of your videos so far. I love old cemeteries that contain the earliest settlers to this country. The Revolutionary War Veterans buried there
really peaked my interest. I imagine Kentucky, W.V. and Tenn. have many 18th to 19th century cemeteries and burial grounds (where a Church is or was located) known and unknown.

I enjoy the history that u find from walking through cemeteries. Me and and mom used to walk around one we lived across from. My grandparents from the 1800's were buried there also some family members that we didn't even know were there because some of the family members were split up. We used to also put flowers around to the grave that had seemed to be forgotten. So I love these kinds of videos. Keep up the great work.

That must have been a huge church. Those are ancient ruins to us since our nation is not that old. I liked that you went to Abraham Linkhorn's grave. Such a significant finding in such an old cemetery. I wonder if any of these headstones can be cleaned without damaging the lettering. I live on the border of a small town and the country and I have a cemetery practically in my backyard. You've inspired me to go out there and explore. Maybe I'll see you out there one day. Re: the cement though, I think that was a trend kind of happening around the turn of the 20th century where folks have tried to shore up broken/decaying stones. I'm a northerner by birth but have the utmost respect for those in the south. I live in Canton, Ohio and I had two friends on Facebook. I rode my motorcycle to visit them in Vanceburg, Kentucky. They were the nicest people I've ever met. I spent the night at their home and had the best food I ever had both for dinner and for breakfast when I woke up in the morning.

I am glad that you visited this cemetery. Unless you have directions, it is very difficult to locate. Someone had to give me directions and were unsure if they were correct. So, that was an adventure.

When my family and I visited the US in 2019 I was mesmerized by the fact that many Americans have died already compared to other nations. We visited Queenstown, Pennsylvania and saw a very beautiful cemetery with devastating history as well. Kudos to you for sharing this with us.

The history you find is outstanding and great to see how nice this cemetary is kept. You only see old family plots everyone is crammed in these days. My family has an 18 pack in Massachusetts, unfortunately with no history. Thanks for the merch, I'll be checking it out.

Fencing around graves was usually taken down if the inside area was not being kept up by the family. This allowed grounds keepers to maintain the site with the rest of the cemetery. There are a lot of cemeteries in Texas that they did that to.
