GM Geckos, hope you're all doing well in this space atm 💚 How often do you look at the market cap before investing in any cryptocurrency? Share your comments below!
Well it isn't. For example, if a token has an MC of 500b, you can't expect that token make a 10x given that that would tramp the MC of the general crypto market.
Thats we make small investments at a time I followed that advice and it served me well no I'm not wealthy but it's long term investment you only handle what your willing to lose from my portfolio I've made a profit from my investments not much to buy a island or get a house but done well so far for a modest profit
It is, it doesn't apply to crypto. What is important is liquidity. The two are very different. He is propagating a fallacy. If Tommy and Timmy each put $10 in a piggy bank, and then along comes Jimmy and puts in $20, that doesn't mean that there is $60 in the piggy bank. If Tommy and Timmy each take out $20 from the piggy bank, there is nothing left for Jimmy.
Now apply that analogy to crypto and you will realise the ''value'' or ''market cap'' is bs. It's like saying that there was $60 in the piggy bank, when there was $40.
I've been watching this crypto coin with market cap of 7 million, right. Now with a trading volume of 20-30,000 brings the market cap either up or down by 2 million. What am i missing?
Take it with a lot of salt. If 100 ppl, buy a token each at $1 the market cap and market value is $100. If one person sells a token for $2 then market cap is now $200 (meaningless), market value is $101 (market value, one token was $2 and the 99 are $1) It's not like everyone can sell at the top unless it's a ponzi scam where you have a newbie to sell to
In circulation means they are out there. There are bitcoins which aren’t yet created, so they aren’t in circulation. The rate at which they can be created slows over time and will eventually reach the maximum amount of 21 million. So there are still over a millions coins which aren’t in circulation.
Hello, I have been watching your channel for a long time, a lot of interesting information. I recently found the League of Hamsters project, I'm interested in your opinion. Maybe you can do a review.

My eyes saw drake finding bitcoin too expensive 😂😂😂 (1:18)
But market capitalization is not what you explained here. We can only use it together with other metrics during fundamental analysis of a token.
Can you elaborate more on the impact of Ethereum 2.0?
On some other site I read how market cap is senseless and how it is only a trap for newbies....

Understandable, but isnt the MC of all crypto gonna exponentially grow because of the etfs launches?

So are there bitcoins that are not in circulation thar aren't calculated in? What exactly does "in circulation" mean?
Take with a handful of salt as I'm new to it and still learning but is it meaning whats already been mined

These bitcoins still are being mined. This year we will have a BTC Halving which will cut it down to 3.125
@johnsttrr OK so in circulation means all coins that exist ?
