Dividends are what got me into investing in the stock market. The thing to me is, if you invest and have other income outside of dividends then you will be able to live off dividends without selling. Which means you can pass that on to your kids which will give them a leg up in life. Have over $600K in my portfolio as I bought a lot of dividend stocks before, I'm buying more now, and I will buy more when it drops further.
As a new investor it's always great to hear from a person who has gone through all the difficult times and come ahead of it. It's unnerving to see your portfolio go from green to red but as mentioned if you have invested in quality names just have to keep adding to them and stay the course

Avoid picking random coins unless you are actually willing to research them. If you listen to these TH-cam guys most aren't professionals and chase big returns by investing in the latest hot picks, you’re likely to overpay.
After my experience in 2017 of slow emotional torture here is my strategy i don't hold Alts just Majors except i want larger profits at that time or when i get greedy i then opt for the Alts through a Pro only because being very much more profitable it is riskier too. I can't handle lol.

I've been employing the skillset of an advisor ever since the stock selloff of Aug, 2015, when the Dow Jones fell by over 1800pts, which inherently wiped out all my gains. I was down over $80k(terrible times)... that's when I began using an advisor. Took about 6 months for me to break even and also net a gain of about $860k while others waited over 2 years to just just break even.
